Basically every team plays multiple fronts now, so fitting in Bradley Chubb with the Giants shouldn't be too hard.

I can kind of understand if they are just talking about game tape. Bradley Chubb might do more things well than Myles Garrett did in college, but the upside is not even close. Garrett's size and athleticism is nearly unprecedented for his position.

Quite truthfully, I haven't done much research on Chubb to debate with you legitimately.

I never considered us to be in the market for him.

Not sure it means anything.. 11mill Cap savings by moving JPP. Chubb at 2 doesn't save money. Plus they are moving to a 3-4 . Maybe its possible they just want to get younger or see Chubb better for the 3-4 but I doubt you do all this now and create a hole just to have to fill it at 2 ?

I think whatever their plans were, still is. Obviously PP was not in the new guys plans. If Chubb is their guy Chubb was their guy all along. The deal for Pierre had nothing to do with Chubb or not.

I still think Rosen will be the pick!

As much as I love Barkley I think Chubb will be our pick at #5.

If Barkley isn't there at #4 I would have no problem with them taking Chubb. In a 4-3 D you can never have enough defensive linemen. Especially elite pass rushers. Plug him in opposite of Garrett and rotate in Ogbah and Nassib. Keeping them all fresh for the fourth quarter. I do prefer Barkley because a great running game helps the defense a great deal but if the Giants take him at #2, Chubb is a nice consolation prize.

The Giants will trade out of the 2nd pick. I think QBs will go the 1st 3 picks with the Browns having their choice of tbe best QB and the best non QB in the draft. They need to stay put at 4 and add an immediate impact player. Chubb could be the pick. I think it will be either Chubb or Fitzpatrict.

I just want a winner. We need players who can be part of the solution not part of the problem.

The Giants have always been a conservative team. They plan for the future.

I agree. As tempting as Barkley is, and as much as they may like Chubb; I think Rosen is their pick.

I can see the logic behind Chubb to the Browns. I can see the logic behind picking Fitz or their choice of a corner.

Again I agree. Dorsey will go Chubb.

I like The Quon at four.

Maybe I am all wet on this. But I just want the thrill of watching him run the ball.

I know its just opinion but I doubt they trade.
My suggestion is Jets came to us first...we didnt budge for a trade. They ended up with Colts #3. Logically they tried with #2 Giants n they too were a no go.

So, the Giants traded JPP to the Bucs, to scare us into drafting Bradley Chubb, so they can get Sam Darnold.

Got it, lol

I doubt that they are married to Chubb. There has been rumors that the Giants also like Nelson. They could have traded down with the Jets and got one of those 2 guys at 6.

I can really see trades turning the 1st 4 picks into QBs. I think that the Browns take Darnold, and the Giants take Rosen. I suspect that 3 and 4 will be traded to the QB needy. 1 and 2 are Darnold and Rosen, and then 3 and 4 are Allen and Mayfield.

One other thing, for those mocking Chubb to the Giants: the Giants are transitioning to the 3-4 under DC James Bettcher. Is Chubb a 3-4 DE? Is he a 3-4 OLB? I think that he's the prototypical 4-3 DE.

I still think that the Giants go QB at 2. If they aren't, they would have taken the bounty to go to 6, to surround Eli with as much talent as possible.

Their deal with Pierre will not influence the draft. Btw, anyone know the new D of the Giants will it remain the same 4-3?

They still will take QB, great class to be in the top 3. Last time they were picking in the top 5 was 15 years ago and that QB is just about spent. They know QBs are hard to get later in the draft. They are taking QB. Was all saying they were taking Chubb prior to the trade? Well it shouldn't change cause they knew they were getting rid of Pierre. Nothing will change in their selection. Teams do not select out of Urgency...that is how they make mistakes and take players before their time.

QBs are going 1, 2, 3...Darnold, Rosen and Mayfield.

jmho - Somebody is going to want Allen pretty bad when we select at 4 wink

James Betcher is the D-Coordinator. Supposedly he's switching to a 3-4

If that is the case it is obvious why PP was no longer in the picture for the Giants more so than just $$ its the cost of his contract for an OLB now not DE, wasted money.

So all these Giants are now going to take Chubb. Is Chubb considered an OLB or strictley a 4-3 DE.

Thanks for the info.

I would assume he is more a 4-3 end which raises the question if he is such a good fit for that new 3-4 D.

I read a lot on the Giants, even though. Belcher prefers 3-4 he does use multiply/hybrid fronts, did it in Arizona with Chandler. But read in an article he wasn’t switching to a full time 3-4, that’s what he himself said, so take it for what it’s worth. I see them playing a hybrid style, at least till they get the player to make a switch. They have Vernon and signed Kareem Martin so I could see where they thought JPP was expendable or wasn’t a fit. There’s a bit of a youth movement going on there.

Best ever 3-4 defensive end, in my opinion, was Bruce Smith. 6'4" tall 265 pounds. If a guy can play, he can play. I think the Giants will trade out. I think we might trade out of #4. I hope we don't.

IF they are fairly certain one of the QB's is a franchise player then take him at #1. If The Giants take Barkley we take Chubb. We have two hopefully elite pass rushers and that's a good thing to have. We would kill QB's as soon as this year... if not certainly the following season. But I am starting to think we can take the QB at #1 and Barkley will be there at #4. We should RUN to turn in that card. Get the QB and the RB in one fell swoop? I can get behind that. The QB may not produce anything for a year, perhaps more. The RB would most likely start producing very quickly.

I think we could trade out of #4 if it is only a slot or two....and why not? You will still get a impact player, maybe the same one you would have taken at #4.

I actually hope we do some trading up to get better prospects and have fewer picks. Our roster is already young as hell. We will have FIVE picks from the first and second rounds. If one is a QB he won't play but that is still four players that will probably play a decent amount of snaps. Do we really need more 5th and 6th round players than we will already have? If we stick at #1 and #4 we are SURE to get the players we want. No guessing. QB at #1 and either Chubb or Barkley at #4 That is the start of a draft I can really dig. Then hit on those second round picks and we just changed the direction of this team for a long time into the future.

I wouldn't be shocked to see us move up. What's the best we can hope to do, get into the first twice more? Trade up into the 3rd?

We moved back into the first round last year to get David Njoku. We traded 33 and 108 to get 29.

We have the first pick in the second round. We could easily move up into the 20's and take a Tackle or even Guice if we pass on Barkley.

Read something yesterday from a guy who knows Dorsey.

Indicated that Dorsey won't bring in a ton of rookies.

Will get QUALITY over quantity.

A shrewd way to do that would be to get more ammo.

If Denver even HINTS they will give us #40 to move up one spot to fend off Miami, Buffalo and Arizona. I take it and we STILL get our choice of Barkley, Chubb or Fitz.

Now you've got FOUR 2nd Round Picks.

We can do some real damage.

What would this do for you?

Darnold QB
Chubb DE
Guice RB
Oliver CB
Moore WR

Don't go to sleep Dawgs until the ENTIRE 1st Round is over!

First, you said this:

Quote:
OBJ is much better than Landry.

OBJ has 313 catches for 4424 yards in 47 games, Landry has 400 catches for 4038 yards in 64 games.

Then, you said this:
