His data base was very small. He had a lot of tight window TE type of catches for TDs or first downs with impact iminent.
He caught it exactly how he should have.

There were only two opportunities to catch with his hands in that entire hi-light and he did so.

Actually I came onto this post to state he is nothing but a ST player that we signed.

Only to be more impressed than what I thought of not this OH HE's a Brown so Eotab is a HOMER he must be seeing things.

So again are you saying those 2 and only 2 passes he didn't catch with his hands?

Are you saying you can't read what I wrote? If you don't get my take, reread the six previous posts. I don't need to go over it again.

Thanks for the link ... i watched the first 3 minutes .... it was a little better but very hard to tell due to camera angles and graininess ...

A few balls hit the ground when he went up in traffick .... u couldn’t really tell why ...

Hopefully the kid can develop into a good #3 ... catching the ball does not appear to be the reason why he never had a bigger role in GB ...

Worse case we got one hell of a gunner and a great guy in the locker room ... i’m On board with that .... thumbsup

I'll be honest, I like this signing quite a bit. He might be a diamond in the rough and a good option w/so much attention on Gordon/landry

Next Christian McCaffrey? shocked

I did like him in the draft as a later round prospect.

Maybe more of a Cole Beasley?

Probably more like Steve Largent.

I would take Joe Jurevicius.

Well he is a J.J.
I would be happy if he where half as good as J.J

If I recall correctly, Joe Jurevicious left the Browns in some sort of an "I don't want to play anymore" fashion.
Thus nickname. ... he had a good year, was signed to a 6 year deal, that didn't last.
Jeff Janis can make his own fortunes.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I thought that he left the game due to developing a staff infection.

Yeah, and I'm not saying he has trouble catching, just that the way he catches could affect contested or out of reach balls. And I agree, he could be a beast for us on STs. I'll look forward to watching him during the camps.

Don't forget Brian Hartline. White WR's are like black QB's, they only get compared to their own race. Come to think of it, RB's too - all white RB's are either undersized shifty/speedy guys like McCaffrey and Woodhead or else they are big bruisers like Csonka, Alstott, or Hillis (for one year).

I watched the videos and read up, and I think if he secures a roster spot, it'll be because of the versatility of his special team game. He'll beat out either Louis or Higgins I assume.

Nothing to get very excited about. But he has nice size there, he's in a tie with the monster AKA Josh Gordon at 6'3 to being the tallest wr on the roster (for whatever that's worth.)

I think it is fair to assume that all of the players Dorsey brings in probably make the team.

Possibly a few late round draft picks don't make the team. Even then we will probably try to get them on the practice squad.

Out with the old, in with the new.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I agree. I think in the case of Janis, Dorsey will be out to prove he caught "lightning in a bottle". He'll definitely get a fair shake here as there was obviously something wrong in GB, beyond sheer talent.

Couldn't watch too much of it. But the 3rd pass was a comeback and again he caught it with his hands. Tough to tell exactly cause of quality.

What I do know is he got drafted in the 7th round??? There is a reason but it seems he has worked on his skill set.

He had one of the greatest runs in the NFL with catch after catch for TDs. I believe it helped get GB into the playoffs.

Hey, as I said mentally I thought he we got a good STer here. But I think he has a shot for some quality reps at WR.

Gordon, Landry, (my 3rd) Duke, Janis and we tried to trade Coleman around the time we traded Shelton but had no buyers.
I think Coleman's days here are numbered. He does have some talent so he can always turn that around. But I don't see us signing him to a 2nd contract. We got to get that Duke extension done. I haven't heard squat about it lately!

To me the signing is simple. You have a 53 man roster. All 53 positions are available for upgrade. Whether that be the top of your roster or the bottom of your roster. If Janis only acts as an upgrade on ST's, it's still an upgrade.

One problem every young team has is depth. In our case even our starting roster has often lacked the proper talent to compete. I see upgrading talent in every roster spot as a positive from 1 all the way to 53.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Another feather in my cap ... *LOL* ..

I sure nailed this one ... rolleyes ...

I thought he’d at worst be a huge upgrade to special teams .. hes a hell of a gunner ... also thought he’d challenge Coleman for the 3rd reciever spot ... didn’t know it’d be in Buffalo ... *L* ...

Another job well done Diam ... where’s the “dawg taking a bow leaving the stage” emoji when u need it .. thumbsup

GC. So we can be sure now that none of these players, (barring an odd turn of events), will score ANY touchdowns for the Cleveland Browns in 2018.
Ricardo Louis (out with injury, but early enough to not cut the other guys)
Corey Coleman
Jeff Janis
Kason Williams
Kenny Britt
Isaiah Crowell,
Not to mention

Dion lewis
Terrelle Pryor
Travis Benjamin
and Sammie Coates <-- Ya I liked him.

Not to mention a couple of tight ends from the last few years.

But Damion Ratley is supposed to make a splash? wink okay, hashtag 4-44.

If Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees or Tom Brady can't make you look good, you'll never be good. I thought that Janis had always looked the part of the WR, but clearly something is missing on the field. We should've known that he was no good when GB got rid of him, but it is good that we kicked the tires. And who cares if fans get optimistic about players or the team? We'll have plenty of time to be pessimistic during the season, enjoy the preseason rhetoric aka the Brown and Orange glasses.

Not your fault Janis didn't show up.

I was looking for something from him that signified all we expected...ALL (most) cause he did have a great reputation as a ST player. He didn't show up as a WR saw a lot of drops from him during games and practice. The when I didn't see him make one play on ST I sort of got the feeling we "ALL" were disappointed in his effort. He never seemed to be enjoying his brief stay here.

So we got the ST player wrong. We got a lot of guys working harder for that spot. As we know ST prowess comes from the heart and for reason Janis did not show much heart at all. We "ALL" were fooled by our expectations.

I guess we see what he's got.

He seems like a good backside receiver. If he's got the long stride. Let him run the post and flag routes. Cover his weakness of not being able to run great routes and play to his strengths. Also, I see him putting his hands out away from his body and bringing the ball into his body.

I don't see a body catcher.

We've got Landry covering short and we've got Gordon able to do whatever as long as he can stay on the field.

At the very least his special teams help will be welcomed if anyone saw preseason.

We'll see if he gets another shot
