No 40, I laugh at the notion that you think spending a few extra years as the Deputy Sheriff without being promoted to Sheriff because a black person got the job ahead of you equates to the suffering of decades of being owned, lynched, beaten, unhireable, unable to get into college, forced to use other bathrooms, forced to live in crappy neighborhoods, denied entry to theaters, etc. etc. etc....

What I already know is some people can be programmed to buy into everything Trump says and some people actually have a brain and can think for themselves.

I'm equally sure that the number of white people improperly affected by AA was minute and infantacimal in comparison to minorities who have in the past and still today are kept out of positions they deserve because of their race. And that's not even addressing what "suffering" means.

I agree with many Republicans that racism is bandied around too often and used inappropriately like a weapon all too often. With regard to white folks crying foul about the negative impact of AA and trying to claim it's somehow equals or cancels out the decades of suffering by blacks I have to question myself and wonder weather racism isn't much more ingrained into the fabric of middle aged white America than ever I thought. When I see people making excuses for or enabling Trump to have a intern demographic that's 97% white, or they simply want to say it doesn't matter.... Again I have to question myself.

Two wrongs don't make a right but to suggest the suffering is of equivalency is so wrong its mind boggling.

So once again you show how you care more about the suffering of one Race over another.

For the small fraction of white folks out there who had this law misapplied and were actually harmed by it, I feel bad for them. That doesn't even come close to off-setting the many many minorities who were lawfully helped by it and given an opportunity to achieve things they otherwise likely never would have been able to.

BTW: the gig is very interesting. It's 'Opera Week' here... and this time, no screaming in Italian. We're doing a world premiere of a new American Opera called 'I Dream.' It chronicles the life of MLK Jr, with a focus on the last 3 days of his life.

This massive work is so fresh, we've been getting re-writes and minor revisions up to (and including) tonight. It's been around in various embryonic/developmental forms for quite some time, but now.... it's debuting as it was always meant to be... and it's fantastic.

Grand Rapids is going to do it this year. So is Opera Carolina. But WE got the call to 'drop it fresh.' It's all very exciting, and the singers and music are fantastic (Martin, Coretta and Ralph Abernathy are world-class opera stars who can slay the Gospel, as well). Find the story of this piece's creation at the official website.

Most of the music is Gospel and R&B-tinged, with some good old movie music scoring thrown in for good measure. We're playing with a rhythm section (keys, bass, drums, guitar) from NYC that's torching the pit to ash. Much of the score sounds like 60's Motown, and the Gospel sections sound just like all the churches I grew up attending.

Take border security .... the WS are all for it cause in their eyes it keeps brown people out ... Trump wants it to keep us safe .... so the policies align but the reason why the policies aligning aren’t even close to the same ...

Nazi economic policy was also about 'reprivatizing' the state's resources. Just saying that some subsets of racism have a more developed political outlook than others do.

Sorry, it has nothing to do with them paying their taxes, or sending their kids to school, or driving on the roads. They align with parties that pander to hate and racism plain and simple.
