I just finished converting the divx version of this (available at TenYardTorrents) to DVD. Actually I used two DVDs to maintain quality, so the entire download is around 9 gigs. The original divx is of pretty good quality considering the age of this game and these DVDs maintained that quality.

A lot of history here: 80,000+ at Municipal. Leroy Kelly....Fair Hooker ....Jerry Sherk's first NFL reg season game. Howard, Dandy Don and Keith Jackson at the mics.

If anyone is interested in downloading this, let me know and I will torrent it.

Thanks shep, but if you check out that topic, you'll see my username all over it.

Quite frankly it takes forever to get a torrent posted there. That is no criticism, simply the way it is. I understand the need for admin to review any torrents to hopefully avoid any infringement issues or someone's malicious behavior. The fact is I didn't want to wait, particularly because it's Gene's day and I thought these DVDs would be a cool tribute.

The plan here is not to circumvent the board's policy. My plan was to provide only a link to demoniod. From there one can check out my files to see that they are legit. The thought is that only providing the link frees this board from any liability. If that thought is wrong, then this thread dies an early death.

For those that are interested perhaps try searching "woodyhayes68" later this afternoon. You'll find the aforementioned DVD files, as well as Buckeye basketball.

Didn't notice that until you mentioned it.....as it is a little used forum. (Half a dozen threads with a handful of replies in nearly a year?)

Take care.

I would greatly appreciate it if you did, Dad's coming to town for the week, and I know he loves to watch old games (and I don't think he has this one.)

I'll torrent it later this evening (had hoped to have it done already, but had to reassemble some furniture).

I'll post a link when ready. If you don't have a demoniod account, let me know and I can email a .rar of each torrent (2 DVDs).

For any concerned with copyright, please note this is not a pirated copy of any commercial product. Simply a DVD conversion of two divx files. Quite frankly I wish the NFL would offer these type of things. I would welcome the opportunity to purchase retail DVDs of classic Browns' games.

Quick question, did you make this DVD off the 1.72 GB .avi file that is currently hosted on demonoid?

As state before, this is a large download (about 8.4 gigs), but I felt it necessary to do a DVD for each half. This was how the original divx's were presented and I wanted to maintain quality. The download is of DVD files, so you will need to create and burn an image of each to watch on a set top box (if you need help with that, PM me).

I will seed until I see no one downloading, but remember patience is a virtue...lmao. As always, help with seeding is much appreciated.

Enjoy.

Yep, that sounds right. I was searching for the original seeder to give credit, but I failed to check out the very site I track from....DOH. The divx's were of surprisingly good quality, given the age and medium used.

I was hoping to keep the file sizes down and do one DVD, but the avi's that VDub produced using the "Direct stream copy" mode would not load into my editor. There is certainly plenty I don't know about decoding / transcoding divx. I used AVI2DVD. It was free and simple to use and produced good results. The DVDs are at the same quality as the divx's as far as I can tell.
