This is not to say I think we should pick Baker Mayfield (or Sam Darnold). It is to say that I think the weather argument is basically irrelevant when it comes to drafting players.

I didn't get to see the tweets before he deleted his account. If these are accurate screen shots, I wouldn't be shocked if it legitimately hurts his draft stock.

I mean, there is silly tweets, and then there is a pretty consistent pattern of racism, homophobia and anti-Semitism.

Guess that clean-cut, wholesome boi front worked well for a little bit.

The only “offensive” tweet he posted was the one about hating Lebron.

That alone confirms why we shouldn’t draft him.

While he shouldn’t be using the N word, all that did was show the world he’s a down ass white boy. He’s definitely invited to the cookout, but he’s still a bum QB I don’t want on the team.

He was young and stupid. If he "mans-up", I doubt it will significantly affect his draft status or where he is selected...

honestly it sucks that people even bothered to go back that far and dig up old tweets as if he's a politician.

he's cool with black people and loves hip hop. i mean.....i dunno what they expected the reaction to be really. as far as i can tell, nobody even cares right now about it.

i just really hate the media when they do that. they pulled the same crap on that kid who balled out in the NCAA tournament. i mean damn, we really gonna pull that on the biggest day of their lives? come on...

I was always told there was a difference between ending the word with "-AS" as opposed to "-ERS"....

Anyhow, who ever pulled this crap out of the hat did so with malicious intent...they didn't just find these things on the day of the draft...it was held and held and held with the intent to damage the player and his image....which is way worse then anything JA might have tweeted as a 16 yr old

I don't get the 16 year old excuse. at 16 I knew perfectly was acceptable to say and not say - especially on a public forum.

I think this hurts his stock big time. Especially in todays racial climate of America.

Glad this came out though for 2 reasons.

1. Now people can see what he is hiding and what he has in his heart
2. that pretty much takes him off our board, which to me he is MAYBE the 6th best qb in this draft. I certainly have him behind Lamar, and I would even argue Mason Rudolph ahead of him.

I agree. It's pretty weak. Kind of like the BS some team, put out about Warren Sapp 25 years ago.
