I can't believe the media kept trying to dwell and get info, especially about QB. John said something about the draft being seven days away like, three hundred million and one times, fluff answer.
That presser should've been a lot shorter.

@AkronJackson said #Browns general manager John Dorsey won’t tell head coach Hue Jackson what quarterback he’s drafting with the first overall pick until Wednesday night. https://twitter.com/KyleKellyCLE/status/988516312237387778I don't know if I like John Dorsey or not, but I love how he treats Hue Jackson like a child. "Hue, I told you to stop asking who we are going to pick. Now go ask Todd and Gregg how many copies of their playbook they need."

It's because of all the leaks the past two years. Dorsey knows where it came from. Still, I don't think this is very healthy between the HC and GM. I mean, it's one thing if you don't value the opinion of Hue, it's another to keep him completely in the dark. Doesn't seem like there is much trust. That's not good. #WorkingWellTogether.

The thing that I don't fully understand is why the #1 pick needs to be this super secret thing. We get to do whatever we want. Either way, it's clear that Hue Jackson was leaking stuff all the time and that has stopped. No one knows who we are drafting with the first pick and the draft is in three days, that's crazy.

This is Joe Banner's response to the above Tweet: This is really stunning if true. This just does not happen when there is collaboration and trust. Never have seen this in the first year of a relationship. Hue should’ve been fired if there is this little trust. I mean trust of judgement not just trust to keep a secret. https://twitter.com/JoeBanner13/status/988524496658329601

I really hope thats BS ... if not .... Dorsey’s a POS too and this ain’t right ...

And maybe this lends more credence to the idea that many posters had in that Dorsey had no choice in keeping/firing Hue. This is how he is dealing with it. It's not a good look on Hue or Dorsey, but here we are.

I don't see the issue. I'm sure Dorsey knows what Hue thinks about each prospect, but correct me if I'm wrong, this is Dorsey's decision, not Hue's. Why would Hue need to know?
Also, how would we know if this were even true? This could be tested by Dorsey. Leak to Hue we're leaning towards PlayerX and see what happens.

There are more than one conspiracy theorist that believes that Allen stuff was stuff put out by dorsey to see who was leaking. A bit of misinformation at its finest,

You guys that are leading to dysfunction in the organization/building... just another day in the office amigos. Wouldn't be Cleveland otherwise. By this time next year, both John and Hue could be replaced lol. I say lol, but seriously.
Agree with Memphis on account it's true (I believe it is) that it makes them all look bad... but here we are.
Agree with cfrs and others that John likely was never on board with Hue, but he had/has to deal with it.

I don't know if it's dysfunction, it seems more like lack of trust. John Dorsey has every reason to mistrust Hue Jackson after he threw basically everyone in the organization under the bus to save his job.

Why would Hue need to know? Because he's the "head coach" of the team. It would be nice for him to know, but it's not a NEED for him to know. Heck, maybe Dorsey hasn't made his decision yet because he's still working the phones. Plus, if true, Hue will know before everyone else on planet earth. Sooooooo...where's the drama?

My guess is that every other head coach in the NFL knows what his team is planning on doing with their pick. Also, if Dorsey doesn't know who he's picking at this point then he is incompetent.

I wonder if Dorsey will allow Hue in the draft war room Thursday night?

I wonder if Dorsey will allow Hue in the draft war room Thursday night? Hue has to ask Todd and Gregg for permission first. If they say yes, then he can ask Dorsey.

Since when has Dorsey declared that he is selecting a QB with the 1st pick? It might be a given, but this statement loses all credibility, because of this half truth imo. Take it with a grain of salt...this or any such other tweets, from here unto the Draft. We will find out after the draft if this has any truth to it.

I don't think there's much mystery to what position we pick at the #1 spot. I'm not even sure there's too much as to who it is. I've thought Darnold since the start.
This can't be over with soon enough. Enough BS to require my hip waders!

Well most running with this story and putting their 2 cents of how low Hue is are the ones who want him fired. Where is Vers when you need him...lol

That is irrelevant...AkronJackson is not speaking for Dorsey here...he is giving his own opinion...or else the tweet should have been GM John Dorsey 'said'...

JC: I'm not that worried about it. This might be a policy of Dorsey's from the start. He might not tell anyone. I mean, does Berry, Highsmith, or Wolf know who we're picking?
I think Dorsey (or Hugh) said they talk multiple times per day. Could just be the way he does things

Unless by "talking" it just means Dorsey tells him to get the coffee, take out the office trash, etc I don't think Haslam would let a relationship like this exist in the organization. I bet it's a Dorsey policy, he made clear when he got here. And I hope that Dorsey and Hue get along. I like our Coordinators (although Im holding my breath on this Special Teams guy, but at least we recognized we needed a change from Tabor). I've heard nothing but great things about Zampese. Now is not the time for dysfunction in the organization. We should be on the right track

I don't think Haslam would allow a working relationship like this to continue within the Browns Organization....... You can't clearly undercut managers in front of those below them. It's cutting their legs out right under them. Dorsey is not telling Hue to get him coffee, take out the trash, etc. I think Jimmy would recognize that change is immediately needed.

But he still runs a successful business and he's seen how other successful owners have run their football teams. I don't think he's as bad as letting Hue become Dorsey's Office Intern. That seems like a huge stretch

If Dorsey does not take Darnold at #1 and either Barkley or Chubb at #4, then he should get canned. Do not trade down. Do not get cute.
