Darnold at 1, and Mayfield or Allen at 4. rofl

I'd be OK with Allen as a secondary developmental guy. Gotta figure that one of them would be the right pick .... rofl

Darnold I'll learn to live with if I have to.

I want Mayfield.
If Mayfield didn't exist, I'd want Mason Rudolph, probably, and also Lamar Jackson, but probably, Saquan Barkley first and them next.

Worst case scenario, Chubb anywhere?

Well Allen followed by Chubb would probably hurt me the most.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

The rumor was that the Browns were considering taking 2 QB in the draft. The media inferred that it would be at #1 and #4 then ran with it.

I have no doubt that they are considering taking 2 Qb in this draft. Darnold or Mayfield at #1 then Litten or Ferguson in the 6th.7th round.

The Only scenario I see that puts Barkley at #4 is if the Browns take Mayfied at 1, and the Giants take Darnold at #2, and the Jets take Rosen at 3.

The only way to get Barkley at 4 is if you force the Jets to decide Rosen or Barkley at #3 and they choose Rosen.

Assuming the Giants would JUMP at Darnold, settle for Barkley!

The truth is that nobody really knows what the Giants are thinking. It's been said the only QB they would take at #2 is Darnold, that if we take Darnold, they'll take Barkley. But that's no more certain than any of the several rumors about what the Browns will do. If the Giants are satisfied with Davis Webb as the heir to Eli, then they may very well go Barkley. But if they aren't convinced of Webb, there's going to be pressure to take a QB even if SD is gone. This is the first time since 2004 they have had a top 5 pick (Rivers), and the first time since 1981 they've picked at #2 (LT.) It's unlikely they'll get a chance to draft this high again for a while without having to trade.

As for the Jets, I don't see them taking anyone but a QB, not after they gave up 3 2's to move up 3 spots.

There is a very real possibility that the first 3 picks will be QB, regardless of who we draft at #1.

So I am all in and pulling for Darnold.

At the same time I respect Dorsey and his process.
If they go to a different guy there has to be good reasons beyond what I have seen.

Last summer everyone and their grandma thought for sure that the Jets were tanking for Darnold. The Suck for Sam campaign.

Guess what. WE GOT EM'.

FINALLY.

I just don't see them picking Barkley. I believe they go QB even if we take Darnold as the Giants vs Jets critique could last for a decade. If no QB, then it's Chubb, not Barkley....

I wasn't predicting what will happen, I was echoing what the pre-draft narrative has been; if not Darnold, then Barkley. Part of the appeal of Barkley for the Giants is that he is a New Yorker. Whether or not the Giants FO follows that thinking is one thing, but for the media, the Giants drafting a native son superstar RB is a great story.

I disagree. I believe Barkley and Chubb will both be there at #4. I still believe that the Giants take a QB. They have to. They will not be in a position again to take a top QB without giving up a fortune anytime soon.

QB's go 1,2,3. Bank on it.

Sam Darnold - QB - Player

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns "have cooled" on USC QB Sam Darnold "in recent days."

Many in the national media have pegged Darnold as the top choice for the Browns for much of the draft season, but word out of Cleveland is the Browns have "narrowed" it down to Baker Mayfield or Josh Allen at No. 1 overall. Darnold is widely considered the best overall passing prospect in this class, but the Browns front office has many Mayfield supporters, and the perceived upside of Allen is a big draw. If Cleveland passes on Darnold, teams will be scurrying to take him.

If they do something stupid like drafting Allen at #1 then I am probably done watching football for the rest of my life. I quit watching the Indians after the baseball strike took away the world series title. I quit watching the Cavs when Lebron left. There is only so much a person can take before they say to hell with it all.

If we are passing on the best prospect for the best draw ...... then those making that decision deserve to be fired immediately after the pick.

That is not how great teams pick their players. Great teams pick the greatest players they can, especially if they have an opportunity at the top of the draft.

I just wanted to add that I was all in on taking Wentz, but I was OK with the trade because of the value we got back. I was wrong. We should have gone with the best player, instead of passing on him.

I wasn't a fan of Deshaun Watson, and was fine with us passing on him. I was wrong.

We need to get the best QB in the draft, and I firmly believe that is Sam Darnold, especially if he can sit and learn for a year. (or maybe even 2)

I can't get behind anything she says or writes. I listened to her on 92.3 the other day and she was gushing about Allen, the same way she gushed about every QB we've drafted. She gets her crush, like all of us, and she isn't unbiased like a reporter should be.

I understand.

When I look back at the guys we drafted and the guys we could have drafted; pain.

When the Wentz draft went down. I questioned why do I put myself through this s***.

It hurt worse then the Byner fumble and that is saying something.

There are things to like about all the top four guys.

But Allen is the weakest case.

I am trying real hard to ignore the chatter and believe in the Dorsey process.

At the same time in the back of my brain; I continue to think I will be screwed over again.

Nah can't see it, I don't think he could take the beating that comes in the AFC North ... Darnold/Allen most likely Darnold ... JMHO

I think its Darnold. I honestly can't believe we would draft Mayfield/Allen over Darnaold as he is the safest pick with the highest upside.

The Browns can't miss this pick....they can't. If they do miss at 1 they seriously risk losing the fan base, and I honestly never thought I would say that.

I like Mayfield and Allen, but not at 1.....there are safer QB picks. Put it this way if we don't draft Darnold 1 he's gone by 2 before 1 minute clicks off the Giants clock. Allen/Mayfield could both fall out of the top 10.

Rosen is the guy I liked the most coming into this, but there is a lot of smoke on the injury reports coming back bad. If. that's true then he's out obviously. At that point Darnold is the safest pick, and at 20 has plenty of upside.....don't screw this up Browns!!!

Darnold looks more and more like Kizer version 2, Mr Turnover. Rozen may have injury concerns, and attitude problems.
Allen accuracy problems.
Mayfield height.

It's starting to look more and more like it could be Mayfield, Allen or Jackson.

I think it has to be Darnold.

MAYBE Mayfield. Longshot: Rosen.

Unless I've read a whole lotta FAKE NEWS, I would think Allen could possibly be our 4th, 5th, even 6th favorite guy.

Darnold and Kizer are nothing alike. Half Darnold's INTS came the first 3 games of the year when he had new Receivers that he was trying to figure out and he forced some throws. Darnold only had 9 ints his freshman year. Kizer's INTS were due completely to his inaccuracy at throwing the football.

If it is down to Mayfield and Allen. I hope and pray it is Allen. Johnny Manziel 2 (Mayfield) would be how the Browns screw up this draft.

I still hold out hope that they select Darnold or Rosen.

Never say Never, Mary Kay is terrible unless she did this with a wink wink as the FO wishes to keep our pick a secret for some reason and she simply obliged. There is no way we will take Allen. Just cannot see it being done.

Cooled on Darnold, just where does responsible journalism come off with that remark stated as fact. Yeah after the Pro Day and our private work out at Berea we have not worked him out again and again and again...I guess that means cooled down to Mary Kay. Its not like she got this from Dorsey or anything. Just was is the thought process with Cooled Down???

I would love Mayfield that has not changed. But if it Darnold I still will be tickled pink. The kid will become great as long as we build a team around him. Not like Couch after the investment for some reason Clark felt building a team around him was getting 2 2nd round pick WRs in 99 n 2000. To not invest in an OL man before the 6th round with so so many picks and extra picks. If I had to do it. Every round with more than one pick would have had a skilled position and the other for the LOS either on D but especially on Offense. We paid no attention to the LOS as a hole. The only sound pick made was Courtney Brown and I think a shame that he became damaged goods. Outside of that no a one player made any name for themselves in the NFL. Probably Northcutt had the biggest mark in the NFL.

We have an excellent foundation for the kid. A good Bridge QB so not to rush him without a good year of great training.

We have WRs and I do so hope we take Barkley so that Duke can become part of the WR core. We have two sound TEs with plenty of Growth maybe becoming the greatest TE duo especially if Gronk is on his way out of football soon.

We have possibilities at OTs but that is probably where I think we have to still build possibly also Center.

Sam Darnold will be the best QB we have had for a long long time and we actually have a solid foundation of young players for him to grow with. Its hard to believe how good we will actually be and how fast we will see the results. Its almost scary to believe so as in pinch me, Is this real?

One year ago Sam Darnold was almost all's Overall #1 pick coming into this 2018 draft. And yes, he is OURS!

but Razor never say Never cause this team is almost destined for greatness even messing up such an important pick and taking Allen. Which again, I just cannot see happening. Sometimes I think these Journalists say it over and over as they only wish we would so they can have material to write about for months to continue with their Slam on us as an Organization. Yeah give it to Mikey. Notice how we are here only to provide other teams with our picks and when they know we won't they go and continue to state we will take the BIGGEST RISK QB in this excellent draft class. The one QB that really shouldn't even be in the first or 2nd rounds. I don't see Allen being better than Kizer. Just does not make sense and if it doesn't I just don't see it happening.

Again I do know that I remember when the season was over Hue stated that he liked Rosen from all the QBs. A lot has happened and he clearly doesn't have the final say in this. But there was not a soul who ever stated this kid Allen is the front runner or even a possibility - now all of a sudden after all the football ended and film is what we have to go on the most even state so by our GM Dorsey. How can one see Allen's film and even have him on the board. Especially when you trade a young Kizer who has similar qualities. Razor, I don't bet but I would bet my house that we will not even think about Allen as our QB.

hey you never know but I just can't envision it.
It would ruin my night and hopefully not my life looking back.
Right now hard to get over (you n me both) on us not taking Wentz. But here is the chance in doing so. Just doesn't add up.
Film repeatedly reported as the important factor in the decision. The ease that we rid ourselves of Kizer as a prospective franchise QB only to take a kid who I see as equal to or worse than Kizer at overall #1 no less. Just doesn't make any sense at all.

Got to believe that we finally got the correct GM here. Unless he just got out of an mental institution and we didn't know about it???

Oh man tomorrow night cannot get here soon enough.

Then the DRAFT...please please don't let the first pick hang my head! fingerscrossed

Sam Darnold will wear a brown tie to the 2018 NFL Draft, a possible hint that he's sure the Cleveland Browns will select him first overall, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday, according to Matt Lombardi of The Spun.

A video on NFL.com, in which Darnold is seen shopping for his Thursday evening attire, does indeed show a brown tie around the USC product's neck as he tries on a suit jacket.

Darnold, Wyoming's Josh Allen, and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield are all believed to have a legitimate chance at hearing their respective names called first. UCLA's Josh Rosen is expected to be picked early as well, but hasn't been rumored to be atop the Browns' draft board.

Cleveland has managed to maintain great mystery over which quarterback prospect it'll tap to be the next face of the franchise, and general manager John Dorsey told Steve Wyche of NFL Network that not even his wife knows who he's going to draft at No. 1.

There's virtually no chance the Browns trade the first overall pick, however, as Dorsey also said he's received no legitimate offers for the selection.

It's funny you mention that. NFL Network is actually having a 90 minute red carpet special leading up to the draft. lmao

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

These draftees just bought their first pair of roller balls and think they fly. If so much attention is going to be focused on their style, I hope someone pays respect to Texas culture and comes out in a bolo tie with a belt buckle the size of a kitchen towel. I know you guys are probably imagining Baker doing that, but like most aspects, Lamar doing it would be better.

Most of our QBs do that on Sundays, so he'll fit right in.

Scared? I'm PETRIFIED.

I DESPISE this PUNK.

I don't like his 6 foot.

I don't like his on field BS.

I don't like his little blog of him or whatever you want to call it from the draft process.

I don't like his snarly ass attitude.

I don't like the offense in Oklahoma.

And there's MORE I can't say.

If I'm a Defensive Lineman, a LB, Safety or a Corner. My Dream is to hit this snarly ass priveledged punk square up at FULL SPEED. HARD.

I'm just saying, but I'm reading Wolf and Mcgloughlan are pushing this Smurf. Dorsey says Darnold. Just saying.

PLEASE Dorsey. Pull the POWER PLAY. PLEASE.
