Really odd post. Strangely aggressive. But okay.

Hate it or love it, weak drafts overrate the high end prospects at the position. Geno Smith and E.J Manuel got overrated due to the dearth of talent at the position in 2013. For an exact reversal, how many people have said that the Browns should skip on Barkley due to the depth of talent that is available? And he's widely considered the best talent in the draft who may well fall in the draft because of the overall talent available.

I get it, you're a BPA, but the draft is a mix of BPA and need. Been that way forever. Our #1 pick will be a QB and he won't be the BPA - especially if he's Josh Allen - which will set precedence for need, BPA and WPA all having a standing.

Apologies for the mix up on the combine scores. You are correct, Chubb had the better 20. It was not deliberate, nor can I figure out why it would be in a post littered with compliments for Chubb. If a mistake is so meaningful to you, please know that I am Australian so I am often posting in (Our time) the early hours of the morning. It is easy to make a mistake a 4am. I stand by the point, however, that Ogbah tested every bit as well as Chubb in spite of being a bigger, heavier prospect. My main point, stands; Chubb isn't testing like a Garrett, he's testing like an Ogbah. Nothing wrong with it, but only one of those guys was a top 5 player, in my eyes.

Don't start on this tangent of bias or unearthing some hidden motivation. Firstly, you know there is a motivation there because I explicitly stated I would rather Ward. I mean, you even acknowledged that I said it. Secondly, I like Chubb just fine. He's a fine prospect. I just don't think he's elite. It's not like I was saying he shouldn't be on the draft board - just that he's not the only option at #4.

All the players we brought in to shore up the secondary are a Band-Aid. They're on short term contracts and none should be considered assured long-term solutions. I like Gaines and Carrie, but I'm not sure either is a star corner for the long run. We can make those presuppositions and consistently do. We're not calling off the QB hunt because of Taylor, the CB hunt because of Gaines/Carrie or the DE hunt because of Ogbah. Welcome to football, I guess. We're seeking upgrades. That's the status quo that will always remain.

Taking Chubb would be a statement against Ogbah. You don't take a guy at #4 if he's going to be on a low snap rotation. One of those guys will largely be benched. That's not a good thing for us when, in my eyes, Chubb won't be such an upgrade over Ogbah, especially as a young player, that it will result in stagnation.

I'm happy to be wrong. Won't catch me frowning if Chubb becomes the elite player you seem to think he is. I'm just not seeing it. I see a very talented guy on a very talented DL who made a lot of good plays. I just don't see elite.

For what it's worth, I just watched a video in which Ray Lewis swore up and down that Chubb is Suggs, suggesting there was a "wow" moment from the first time he saw Chubb. There is a lot of love for this kid, and nobody is denying it.

Relax, we're just talking. Don't take it to be something it ain't.

Bradley Chubb - DL - Wolfpack

NFL Media's Peter Schrager believes the Giants will select NC State pass rusher Bradley Chubb at No. 2 overall.

From a Dave Gettleman team philosophy standpoint, Chubb makes total sense. But the buzz around Saquon Barkley is just too strong to deny. "The defensive front seven is where Gettleman's made his bones...this makes too much sense," Schrager writes. Again, we agree, but Saquon is the easy projection.
