Dorsey has stated EVERY KID does stupid stuff- TRUE, BUT do you make a guy who was publicly drunk, tackled by Cop the face of your football team- AND after we've been connected to Johnny "IDIOT DRUNK" Manziel- makes no sense to me. He wouldn't be on my board.....ask yourself this, what percentage of students going to college are publicly drunk- our best and brightest- has to be less than 10 percent, yet he's going to represent the Browns....Please, NO.....GO Browns!!!!

Darnold might have bought his Brown tie, hope he has some inside info...real embarrassing if he's not the pick....some reports state he wasn't as good as others on white board- lots of false crap being reported/posted...tomorrow night can't come soon enough....GO Browns!!!!

We need to get the best QB in the draft, and I firmly believe that is Sam Darnold, especially if he can sit and learn for a year. (or maybe even 2)

These guys are Interviewing for a Job in the NFL from the time they are 12 years old.

I can't believe that the best Football player in the entire world, which is/was interviewing for a Job in the NFL from the time he was 12-15 years old ended up at Wyoming, pretty much a lesser division program.

So I don't know how the Browns could be considering Allen at #1.

These guys have been interviewing for a Job in the NFL from the time they were 12-15 years old,

What you are hiring this guy to do is take an offense, lead it down the field to score toucdowns, win football games, against the best competition in the World.

The only part so far these guys have had to prove what they can do is their college careers.

None of these guys have had the career of Baker Mayfield at the college level, (Not all of his throws will be available at the NFL level, but a lot of his game will.

Nobody has even tried to convince me that Darnold, or the others have proven to be the best ,

and again, They are playing in College, but so far, that's where all of them have "had" to play, the most successful one so far, is Mayfield, and I think he's going to continue to be.

If they don't take Mayfield, they'll be playing against him in week 3 when the Jets come to town,
and have to see how that would work out for them.

Mayfield
Rudolph
Jackson

Darnold,
Rosen,
maybe Allen.

in 1999, I think I first liked
Cade McNown
Culpepper, and McNabb 2-3, I was back and forth on them

Then people were talking about Akili Smith, and Couch, so I guess I put them in , but I never wanted Couch because he played for Kentucky.

If the talking heads and the Hollywood Elite hadn't brought up Darnold and Rosen, I don't know if many would have even noticed them,
Maybe I would have noticed Darnold, some, as an afterthought, but he didn't win much.

I don't think he's going to be the best, I hope the Browns take Mayfield, he's going to be a tough one to beat.
We'll know in 28 hours or so.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

You are not hiring this person to run a 40 yd dash
You are not hiring them to look good in a suit or eat with good table manners at the fancy restaurant.
You are not even hiring this person to become the face of the community, though it kind of comes with the territory.

You are hiring them to beat the Steelers on Sunday afternnon, what they do with the other 164 hours a week is their own business.

Here is why I think it's still Sam......

1. Last year everyone assumed the favorite for #1 was Garrett, and he was the presumed pick.

2 Right before the draft Mitch Tribs becomes the "likely" choice, or the Browns are torn...lol.

This year Darnold has been the "likely" pick for awhile. Not a no brainer like Garrett, but he has been the guy most associated with us at 1. Another guy who has always been associated with us is Allen.

The only guy in this equation who is coming out of left field is Mayfield. He hasn't really been talked about with the Browns until this week. Heck Mayfield and his own people don't think he's coming to Cleveland according to Robert Klemko of SI and others.

Either this is the biggest swerve at the top of the draft in a while or its just pre-draft rumor BS.......my hunch is the latter.

The two constants for the past two months have been Darnold and Allen. I choose to think Darnold, because Allen scares the crap out of me...lol.

Is he playing somewhere I'm not aware of? He could not be looking more and more like Kizer if he isn't.

It is just the turnover emphasis that we are hearing more about now. Darnold's fumbles and interceptions were always a worry, but was downplayed by the Browns. Now, close to the draft, it seems as though the Browns are considering his turnovers more. Perhaps that is why so much media content was focused on Allen. To me, all the QBs have flaws, so I think the Browns will most likely go for the one with the least on field performance issues.

Looking at the numbers, Darnolds turnovers are not much different that the other top Qb's except for Baker Mayfield. I would argue that Rosen had more of a turnover issue, Jackson was fairly similar and Allen was close on a per attempt basis.

Darnold
12 interceptions out of 480 attempts in 14 games, though 6 in the 1st 3.
With 11 fumbles

Rosen
10 interceptions out of 452 attempts in 11 games - 3 vs Arizona
With 8 fumbles

Jackson
10 interception out of 430 attempts in 13 games
With 9 fumbles

Mayfield
6 interception out of 404 attempts in 14 games
With <4 fumbles - he didn't have enough to make the list I found

Allen
6 interceptions out of 270 attempts in 13 games (He actually had 15 in 2016)
With 5 fumbles

----------------------------------
Passing stats are from ESPN.com
Fumbles stats are from https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/player-stat/fumbles

Caveat - I do not know if the fumbles are all fumbles or just fumbles lost

Laughable.... I have watched Darnold drop passes over DB's into a bucket at 30 yards on the move. Numerous times. Kiser could not hit the broad side of a barn from 10. Accuracy is his strength, and he makes something out of nothing, and sometimes wont give up on a play.

With everything said and done the day before the draft, Darnold is my guy. I really hope he's our quarterback 24 hours from now.

A year behind Tyrod Taylor will do him the world of good, and I'd feel really confident moving forward that we had our guy.

The thing is, if it were Darnold, they could have just announced it already, they haven't.

I think Mayfield has about as much chance to be the #1 overall pick as "Donald Trump has at becoming President" huh huh huh.

(Well I mean it might be a similar surprise to some groups)

Have you also seen Darnold fumble ? That is the big worry.. As I have stated, all of the QBs have problems, that's why there is no clear #1. This is not an Andrew Luck draft. There is no clear 100 % perfect top pick.

Have you seen the NFL draft in the last few years? A team could know who they are going to draft the moment they know they have the first pick, and the NFL will want them to keep it secret. The 'mystery' feeds drama that makes the Draft a profitable event.

On 1/1/17 I made a point of watching the Rose Bowl. There had been a lot of talk about the 19 y/o R/S Freshman QB for USC, and I wanted to see for myself. What I saw was Sam Darnold take over the game in the 4th and guide/inspire/will his team to overcome a 14 pt deficit against one of the best college teams in the country. I saw the potential for greatness, and knew in that moment, I wanted Darnold to be the Browns QB. Nothing has changed. He has his warts, but I believe in my soul that Darnold is the guy who can lead the Browns to top of the NFL.

Allen has the most bust potential. I think Mayfield can be, and Rosen will be, good NFL QBs. But Darnold has the potential to be great. I WANT DARNOLD!!

I follow the Trojans - so as a Browns fan I never want them to draft a USC QB

Darnold is different - his will to win is what separates him

.... yes Mayfield is probably just as competitive and I think Rosen has the ego to push him.

But for 2+ years Darnold has been under the microscope and he has shown well (got a little sloppy with the ball but I give him a + for how he navigated all the drama around USC, the good lord knows he will see it here).

I got right off the bat, clever screen name.

I keep going back and forth between the Qb's but I think that I have sttled on Darnold as my top pick. When he is throwing the football, he gives me that feeling that I get watching Jason Kidd play point guard. The way they see the open man and distribute the ball is uncanny.

I am okay with Mayfield. We all wonder how he will fit the ball into tight windows but we know that he can hit the open man. And frankly, I think the windows in the NFL exist bigger than most people think. The difference is that in the NFL those windows close. So you need to be able to see them as they start to open and get the ball there before they close. It's anticipation and timing.

I'd be fine with Rosen though those concussions worry the crap out of me.
I'd be okay with Jackson, though I am not sure Hue would be willing to mold an offense around his abilities.
I don't know if Haley would or not.

The only guy that I have issue with is Allen. Frankly, I'd rather have Rudolph and White.

That would leave us the pick of the crop -QB.

That would be our best case scenario, to draft one @4, instead of kicking the can down the road again ... imo ...

LOL. I guess that makes all the difference. I was in on Fitz at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I think Chubb is the right choice at 4.

Starting to get that sick feeling again.

Mayfield talk. Trade the four pick.

This looks so simple to me. Darnold is the best quarterback prospect in this draft and if we don't get him. Same old story: wish we would have.

The fourth pick. Clean options to get an impact player.

I don't get it if this is how it goes down.
