Ward is the best cb in the draft...with that said, I really wanted chubbs and Darnold.....I hope this works out....but as far as getting value with the picks, I don’t see it. Different front office and seems like the browns always try to outsmart the room....and it doesn’t appear like that has worked out for years...crazy....

Can't wait to see what Mayfield does when Shon Coleman blows his assignment at LT...

I see alot of Manziel 2.0 on the field

At #4? YES! The only way I take a corner THAT high is if he is another Rod Woodson or Deon Sanders. A HOF kind of corner. Is he? Will he be not just the best corner in this draft, but the best corner in the LEAGUE? Because at #4 overall, he BETTER be. He better be the best corner in the league and he better get there FAST. We passed on the best pass rusher in the draft, a guy that could have been a bookend DE with Garrett for a decade. A guy that would have made our D line a force to be reckoned with. Now? Garrett gets the double team, we get very little pressure on opposing QB's and our new corner better be GREAT. He will NEED to be.

Exactly. If the player is good it doesn't matter where a player was drafted.
That his knock tho, his size will keep him limited to slot receivers.

Darnold + Chubb is WAY greater than Mayfield + Ward

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

He is literally the same height as Joe Haden.

That's Your Opinion not Dorsey's or mine, even though I wanted Darnold, Mayfield doesn't turn the ball over ...

In hindsight is Mayfield more like TT than Darnold? Your O is then tailored to basically the same type of guy? Just thinking...

one thing I'm not upset about. One said the Browns were in on Chubb but changed their mind to Ward.

I think ... I like that this might be a move to keep the team together and build through development in this way, I'm talking about the front 7

Did a Ward pick instead of a Chubb pick, is it a referendum on the abilities of the Guys the Browns had fall to them the last 2+ years

I'm talking about Caleb Brantley, and also what's his name, Not Ogbah, but.. Nassib, that's who I mean.

Chubb would likely have kicked one of Nassib or Brantley off the roster, so keeping the team together , add a few pieces here and there, and

I don't hate this draft!!! Go get a RB and that Tony Jefferson replacement!

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

No matter what you think of Mayock in his top 100 Mayfield was 22 and Ward 15.

Chubb 3 and Darnold 7.

I hope it works and Dorsey proves everyone wrong.

Honestly I am disappointed.

Denver was very high on Ward I heard. Maybe was worried they would take him.

But I'm still thinking Chubb was the pick. We'll see.

That's fine. But I don't think Mayock is that great of an evaluator.

He had Josh Allen in his top 10 I think. I mean, Josh Allen over Josh Rosen?

I like his analysis and everything, but his opinion is his opinion. There's others that disagree.

I'll trust Dorsey and his staff over Mayock.

He didn't pick Allen, that gets trust from me

Was Joe Haden a GREAT corner? You hear him mentioned as a Rod Woodson type? Haden was a good player. Period. NEVER a GREAT one.

We didn't draft Haden we drafted Denzel Ward !!

Joe Haden was a very good corner for a bunch of years before injuries slowed him down.

No, he's not Rod Woodson quality.

But, there's far worse picks who have been taken at 4 than Joe Haden would have been (whom we took at 7).

I mean, just look who we took at 3 in the past. Joe Thomas was great, but we also took Trent Richardson and Braylon Edwards.

I'm not that upset about Ward. I think it's a bit of a Reach. I'd prefer Chubb or Minkah. But, this is who Dorsey wanted.

I mean, it could have been a lot worse

Dunno. But he seems to not shy away from contact (which seems better than Gilbert was at 8)

He'll play outside. He's shut down. Would have rather had Chubb but if you're taking a CB, Ward is an excellent choice. I value pass rushers more though.

Good tackler, sticks like glue, gets his head around, finds the ball, makes plays. He's really good. IMO a reach at 4, but it's who they wanted so we live with it.

Gimme a break bro ... your acting like a lawyer and a bunch of computer geeks could do a better job drafting than guys that been in the business of TALENT ACQUISITION at the nfl level for many years ....

It makes NO SENSE ....

Welcome to the team. I wanted Chubb - I'll wait and see how the kid plays before stating as fact this was a bad pick.

That is the whole point.

It's not like Mayfield and Ward are bad players.

I mean they were picked one and fourth.

If they play well they are worth the picks. It's that simple. If they are busts we will have a new front office in three years (or less).

Like u said over the last couple weeks ... it’s almost BULLET PROOF ... we almost couldn’t screw it up ....

I dont think we came even close to maximizing the value we could have gotten ... but its not like we drafted TWO BUMS ...

Dorsey and his group have had months to figure this out.

They liked Mayfield.

They must prefer Ogbah,Garrett with Ward rather than Chubb, Ogbah, Garrett and ?.

Ward was in the discussion at 4.

I am disappointed. Long way from Darnold and Barkley.

Hope Dorsey is right.

Darnold is a turn over machine and CANNOT play under pressure. You saw the Ohio State game right?

I like this pick better than the first overall pick. At least we're not the Lions who picked a center who had a season ending injury.

Yet every draft analyst including former players, coaches, and GMs rated Darnold the better QB. As for Darnold's game against OSU it's hard to have a good game when your getting hit every play and your team is vastly inferior to the team your playing against.
