Let's not forget: the 49ers Tackle is available now. Possible trade for a late round pick?
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

( OH, and somebody said, they don't have confidence in Shon Coleman at LT.)
I think Shon Coleman showed he played adequate in Joe Thomas' injury time last year, and could develop into better.) Orlando Brown might be the Only O-lineman I'd take in this entire draft.
If it were Shon Coleman I'd agree, but Spencer Drango started in Joe's place.

My prediction based on visits and hearing about Penny being coveted potentially:
#33 - RB - Guice/Chubb/Johnson - LSU/GA/Aub #35 - DT - Maurice Hurst - Michigan #64 - OT - Desmond Harrison - West Georgia I don't know a lot about Harrison. Is he better than the likely top rated WR, CB, or DE available at 64? (and I realize that it's a long way off to project) I just looked him up, and evidently he has some issues in his past? Lance Zeirlien has him as a 5th-6th rounder. It has been reported that he was probably dismissed for failing a drug test, less than a week after being reinstated from another suspension. He seems like a 6th/7th/UDFA, despite his evident talent. Is he a better option than Shon Coleman/Donald Stepherson/Rod Johnson at LT?

We need a pass rusher who can get to Big Ben. I am not sold on Ogbah. Hope I am wrong.
Landry perhaps.
We also need a RB, and OT (and any good OL depth)

I think that Ogbah is a very high end DE. I wanted Chubb because that would have given us 3 guys to throw waves at opposing QBs. That said, I love the Ward pick. I would have been fine with either kid.

We need guys that can get to and sack the QB. We needed Chubb (who is also good against the run).

Ogbah is very under-rated by many - I think our defense dropped off a lot when he went down last year. I think a situational guy would be a great compliment because Nassib, it's a shame to say, after starting hot kinda disappeared a bit and we have nothing really scary after Garrett or Ogbah.
If Landry is the BPA take him. He can split snaps with Og and Gar and may the best guy get the most. I still like Amstrong or Sweat as value later though. Apologies for repetition.

Glad to see a few people have paid attention to Ogbah. Even Myles said they were starting something special before he got hurt.
I agree, Nassib was one I thought was going to have a nice second season, get a little bigger and a little stronger but I too didn't see that.

If we can see it the football guys sure as can. I think adding Josh Jackson, somehow, gives us a backbone in the secondary for years. We may still need a free safety but I'm going to call it - Tavarius Moore with #64.

But since he and Garrett were both ouchy last season (I'm always ready for Garrett to get hurt) I wanted Chubb. And now, if he checks out w/ the new brass, I want Landry at pick 33.

Is it possible to go with Landry and Sutton
And then get Chubb late 2nd? So ignore the Rb position until you "hope" a bad one is still there late in the 2nd, pretty much ignore improving your offensive skilled positions AGAIN for like the 30th year in a row, in favor of non chalant situational defenders that you rotate in and out every year while your team never improves because your offense sucks because the offensive skilled position players suck and you cut anyone with promise because you don't want to pay them. Ya it's possible, it's just not a good idea. RB is your biggest need. Your team is on the clock, and Guice is waiting there to be picked. Everything else at this point is just situational depth except maybe Orlando Brown, and Mason Rudolph which could still potentially be "special" .
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

[quote=Dawg_LB]And now, if he checks out w/ the new brass, I want Landry at pick 33. Harold Landry certainly interests me. My pick at 33 would be Anthony Miller. Then shoot for Landry at 35. At 64 hope to get Kerryon Johnson or Nick Chubb or maybe trade up to get RoJo. I dunno what's up with Guice. If his character checks out I'd pick him at 33 and go for Landry/Miller at 35 That and Currie from Stanford. He's intriguing

Otherwise the guy is a beast. Great pair to mix with the Duke. Upfield runner with that one cut power and some "wiggle" for the shake and bake in the open field

What's with the current lying rumor and that he needs a handler rumor? Is he a liar and a punk/troublemaker or are we only measuring Mayfield by those standards?
I like Guices talent BTW but don't care to have another disruptive force.

I think we will finally get Chubb and people can quit griping.....Nick Chubb that is...hehe.
I also think they will look hard at Conner Williams, Isiah Oliver as well.
Of course a trade down is always an option, but we already have 8 picks so I find it hard to believe they want more than that with this young of a team already.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.

Guice will be a beast of a runningback, and you will change the game in the AFC North. GO GET GUICE Talent! GO GET GUICE! production! Go GET GUICE! best player available. Only player in SEC History with 3 games of 250 yards or more. There are 2nd round pass rushers that come along EVERY YEAR! This level RB, DOESN'T COME AROUND EVERY YEAR, Waiting for you, at round 2, Best player available.

Guice and Carlos Hyde would be a tandem that teams would dread seeing on Sunday. Seriously, i think those two pairedtogether would be feared. 4th Quarter no one is gonna want some of what they are giving.

Sounds like there's an outside chance they might be in the kind of free-fall that will have one of them still there for our third 2nd round pick.
Browns is the Browns

That's the kind of talk that sounds like Trent Richardson who admitted he wasn't disciplined enough for the NFL. I've got no patience for guys who need to be motivated and babysat to be successful pros. I apologize, but I'm going to have to retract the statement I made about him needing a handler to focus on football. I heard it in an interview, but for the life of me, I can't remember who it was. I tried using search terms like Guice/redflags to find the concrete link, but am having no luck. I shouldn't have posted it if I couldn't back it up. It does seem that he was lying about the inappropriate questions during the interview process. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/23317...estions-combineHowever, I also see the irony that I am calling him a liar, while reporting a rumor that I couldn't substantiate, which influenced others perceptions. He is definitely a top tier talent. He is the only RB in SEC history to rush for over 250 yrds in a game three or more times http://sports.mynorthwest.com/438609/brock-huards-2018-nfl-draft-preview-lsu-rb-derrius-guice/?. I also like his smash mouth nature. He responded to a scout saying he would rather run someone over in the open field than evade, by saying, "that sounds like football" and "I don't run like that. I'm going through you." https://247sports.com/college/lsu/Articl...tball-117487004

Sorry didn't take the time on CBs...we could of course go with one at 33/35.
But I think for the defense the 2 best out there would be Landry DE good player and pass rusher. The other would be Evans, the kid just out right Ball out!
On O there are 3 top rated guys still available. AND NO, NO WRS!!!
Surprised two Centers were taken and who I thought hands down was the best Center in this draft James Daniels is still available. Something about those IOWA OL. Maybe the other 2 were rated good OGs as well as Centers so they went???
Also probably the best LT Prospect I thought is Conner Williams and hes right there waiting for us to take him!
Then the best RB prospect whose name is not Barkley is there in Guice.
We cannot really go wrong with any of those picks. D? O?
Sure hope we use one pick for the OL.
jmho

Nathan Zegura said he doesn't see the Browns going for Guice or Landry so he must know something that we don't. He seems to think Tyrell Crosby (OT Oregon) is a name to watch.

Harold Landry is a 34 OLB...not a base 43 DE.
