LOL,, I've been to weddings like that,,, man it's odd, but if you take the spectator approach, it's good fun to just sit and watch the goings on,,

I thought when you said your husband got his hammer out that was when you were going to tell us about the honeymoon

John and I had the choice of a big wedding or a DP on a house too. We chose the house.

Our wedding was celebrated in our new house approximately 2 weeks after we moved in. It cost us $0.00 as the mayor is a friend and LOVES to perform weddings. My Mom bought us a really nice lunch at a local place afterwards (she paid), but we brought the mayor with us. So we got our "wedding cake" (a cheesecake) for free as well as our champagne toast.

Couple months later we had a potluck with some friends and family. Cost us approximately $600, including the rental of the hall we used.

Only thing missing from the ceremony, was my Dad. He was unable to make it. But my cousin video'd it for him.

Pit!!!

In all this time, I NEVER looked at the hometown in your profile! Life at "the top of the state" must be very interesting, indeed.

I have some rather vivd memories of your fair neck-o-the-woods, originally being from Lima.

When I was young and dumb, I owned a Triumph Spitfire. Fun little car, Dawg... with handling for days! Well... once a month during the Summer, I'd grab a friend at around 10-11 PM on a Friday night, tool down there, and scare the pants off them, by driving Logan Co. Rd. 10 , near Mad River Ski Resort. That long uphill climb, the tight, twisty S-curves (banked the wrong way, BTW), the sheer dropoff on the outside shoulder... exhilerating. And borderline-deadly.

Just curious... how many fatalities happen there per year?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but it just brought back so many (heart-pounding) memories, dude...

p.s. just to get the thread back on-topic... one of my sidline gigs is to play music at weddings. In the past 20 years, I've probably performed at over 300 of them, and I gotta say these had to be 2 of the craziest weddings ever. Glad I didn't get called for either of them... but it sounds as if there was little need for a cello player in a tuxedo anyway...

LMAO,
Clemdawg
