So how does a guy who got suspended in the previous college season get himself an invitation to the combine anyway?

Anybody have the list of players?

Carson Wentz for:

Corey Coleman
Shon Coleman
Cody Kessler
Derrick Kindred
Spencer Drango
Ricardo Louis
Jordan Payton
Jabrill Peppers
Deshone Kizer
Denzel Ward
Chad Thomas

(Lots of little moves in there not accounted for)

J/C, Antonio Gallaway was said to have been working out (taken under his wings) with Antonio Brown...

I have lost track, with all of the trades we have made, moving up, down, and sideways.

Yes. So he comes into the league in stage 1 of the drug policy. If he gets in trouble again it’s a 4 game vacation.
Unreal. Lost his entire last year on the field then shows up stoned to the job interview. Unreal. I’m a pot smoker but even I know how to play inside the employment system. There’s not millions of dollars on the line for me either.

#this

It's bad enough testing positive, it's meathead territory to do so and the fracing COMBINE when you KNOW the test is coming and you KNOW if you screw up everyone on the planet will hear about it, and you KNOW if you do test positive you will drop in the draft costing you a lot of money. You have to be a very special kind of idiot to test positive and the damned combine. So, considering all of that, and considering he's been in trouble multiple times? I hereby dub him meathead jr.

JUST what this team needs, another wide receiver that can't be counted on and can't be resigned later because it's too risky. I have een under the assumption that the Browns would let meathead walk when he hits FA. That giving him a huge contract would be too risky. However, seeing this I now think Dorsey is just naive enough to shower meathead with a big contract with lots of fully guaranteed money. Five minutes later meat will surely light up. ALL he cares about is having enough money to party the rest of his dumbass life. I wasn't a fan of the first two picks this draft but I know at least they were fairly clean picks and they WANT to play football. Meathead Jr. has shown over and over he is like his older cousin meathead sr. He doesn't care about football or his teammates or the organization he represents. ALL he cares about is money and making enough to party on. THIS was a HORRIBLE pick. Period. TWO meatheads on the same team? NOT GOOD!

And what clean kid DIDN'T get invited so this loser could attend? Which one of our WR's will hit the streets so meathead Jr. can have his roster spot?

To be fair, he didn't test positive at the Combine, he had a diluted sample which the NFL views as a positive test. Its not necessarily the case in a setting where players are hydrating constantly between various Combine events. Isn't that what happened to Jabrill Peppers last year, or am I thinking of someone else?

I don't think Ozzy will be available. I think he's done and retiring for good. If he was of a mind to work elsewhere Jimmy should hire him as team president the very second that becomes known. I would put him in charge of the entire operation. He could be Dorseys boss. Maybe talk him out of dumbass moves like this one. Until now I thought Dorsey was smart. I didn't agree with some of the picks but that is always the case and I can live with that. This, however, makes me wonder... Isn't one meathead enough on a team?

As the resident Gator fan, I can tell you that this guy is really good.

No doubt we are taking a chance, but it is a chance worth taking.

If he washes out, lot's of 4th rounders wash out. If he get's it together, he is a pro bowl level receiver.

Good move IMO. Sometimes you have to take a chance on a player.

I have a friend who went to work for the Post Office.

We all went out one weekend, and he blazed on up with some of his stoner friends, then spent the rest of the night in a panic over maybe getting tested when he got to work on Monday morning. lol As far as I know, he never smoked again. His job was worth more than getting high.

A big problem with a lot of these kids is that their whole support system, friends and so forth, all get high. They have to try to not do it, when everyone around them does do it.

I think weed should be 100% legal. In six States now, it IS. I think the NFLPA should negotiate with the league so it isn't even tested for anymore.

That said, it is forbidden in college and professional athletics. Everone knows they will be tested. Anyone that tests positive is a world class idiot.

My favorite Jimmy Johnson quote "hit me in the head with a hammer the next time I draft a stupid player". Well, we just drafted a world class idiot. Another meathead we did NOT need. One meathead on the team was perfectly sufficient.

This is a problem for everyone who has ever tried to get sober. Some friends will just have to go. He has to distance himself from those who don't support his life changes.

And if we didn't already have a meathead I might be inclined to agree, but one player with no brains whatsoever is plenty! How many dumb as a rock players can one team abide?

Exactly. They grew up that way, then one day they wake up and figure out they have something special where they can make lot's of money playing football.

I don't know what other skills he or others might have. Some might be able to get a job at the local mill making $16 per hour and move up from there. Others maybe a salaried position starting at $40,000 per year and move up from there, but they have a lot of moving to do to make what is sitting in front of them as a football player.

The reality is almost no amount of movement is going to get them there. Once a kid figures that out, it isn't that hard to make a change.

The sad fact is some football players aren't all that smart for one reason or another..

I wonder if the history with Gordon has actually given the FO the confidence we can help this kid. And if Josh has his head on straight, maybe he can be a positive role model/mentor for Antonio. Maybe I'm just trying to find the positive...

Pack all of them in. We're going to save them all. Problem kids chew up a lot of time, extra time. Remains to be seen if that is time well spent. Groundhog Day with Gordon was enough for me. Now this.

That's exactly what I was thinking...we are setting them both up for failure unless we are 100% sure Josh's issues are done.

I don't have a problem with 1-2 risky picks but not at the same position who are going to spend a ton of time together.

i agree with everyone stating this kid is stupid for getting busted.

that said, can we give the kid a chance before we're already crucifying him?

Want to add one thing regarding this guy.

He just had a child and has been working out with Antonio Brown.

As a father and grandfather it can be a life changer.

This guy will either be a stud or a bust.

I am ok with that.

I agree and if he applied himself he could become great ... but like you I know of his history and also of his talent, ... he has the talent to be the best WR of this class.

The choice is his.

Well worth the risk - Dorsey has no problem picking talented but troubled athletes. Hope this works out as well as Tyreek Hill and Marcus Peters did for him in KC.

Oh you mean like the chances we gave meathead? Then another chance, then another and another. Oh and now he needs yet another chance.

This kid was OUT of football last year. He didn't play but he GOT ANOTHER CHANCE by being invited to the combine. So now we know he has had chances and blew them. He's a Brown now, as far as I'm concerned he has spent all his chances. He needs to be 100% clean from now on. ONE more screw up, we should cut him and move on. Chances have been spent. It's either get your stuff together NOW or be GONE!

Either way, he has shown he is as dumb as a rock. Dead from the neck up. Meathead 2.0

And he comes in with STRIKE one in the substance abuse program. Hopefully Gordon can set him straight...half joking half serious!

Its rather simple. We vetted him strongly. We had him ranked as the 1st or 2nd WR in this draft.

Speed, excellent hands (what a relief) loyal which will get him a 2nd contract with us. Punt Returner extraordinaire.

Speed kills. We have probably the best vertical WR in this draft. Now he can run the patterns LOUIS did except he's better at it and he WILL CATCH THE FREAKING BALL.

Its up to him, he's got a home here. A 4th round (+early 6th) investment. As somebody said the kid Hill part II.

Risk reward and as mentioned we vetted him strongly. met with him at the combine, met with him at the Station after the combine. Was one of the 30 we had in Berea. We have a strong Florida connection on this team. Miami n Florida.

Lets hope the kid wants to play this NFL game so that he changes his priorities. Lets put it this way. He's everything all imagined with Coleman and MORE.

O looks good - we invested a lot in this.

Ok. Baker Mayfield. Jarvis Landry. Nick Chubb. and now Antonio Calloway.

The Dorsey Browns have now added 4 players that people might actually pick in fantasy football leagues. (maybe)

Some years only got us Shelton and Eving types, you've got to score points to win.

Are you saying Corey Coleman may now be the 4th best WR on the team?

Let's just hope they can all stay eligible.

I'm saying this kid is FASTER and has Great hands...Coleman has average hands at best. I'm saying he's clean. Coleman is our 5th WR....Duke will come in as a WR on Spread formations over Coleman!

Love the pick. The talent is there and if he can stay clean we get 1st round talent for a 4th. Right place to take him. Gordon is NOT the guy setting the culture of our WR room by the way.... it’s Landry. So... stay clean and make 15 mil a year... or be an idiot and at best make league minimum (like Gordon this year). Great WR room to help keep this kid on the straight and narrow.
