And to think, they just had him announcing one of the draft picks at the draft. Lol, yikes.

Thanks for the memories, Telfer!

Welcome aboard, Dadi.

I'm guessing he's a DE/Pass rusher for us. I vaguely remember being interested in him at one point, but don't remember what I decided after watching.

I'm good with the trade. Dorsey is familiar with him and Telfer was unlikely to make the team. Dadi might be good enough to overtake our DE backups.

It's hard to be a blocking tight end when you can't block.

Yeah, he seemed more valuable recieving than blocking. And our other TEs were better receiving than he was.

Looks like a guy being given a change of scenery to see if he can do something. 3rd season and his career stats are just one pass defended. No tackles, no assists... nothing at all but the one PassDef in 11 games accrued.

Probably a long shot to make the team.

11 games played (not sure how many snaps), no tackles and 1 pass defended - all in 2016. Nada in 2017 due to a patellar tendon rupture.

Best of luck to the guy. When we signed that FA TE, I felt like the writing was on the wall. The FA is a better blocker, and Njoku/Devalve are better receivers with more upside than Telfer.

I'm willing to bet that Njoku's blocking over the next couple of seasons will really improve with Todd Haley all over him. Haley made Fitzgerald into a good blocker, I bet he'll do the same with Njoku

Son of a. Why! Why do you like losing you stupid team!

Ya know, it just hit me just 48 hours ago, I should start a thread titled,

Which Browns will the team part with before opening day?

Merry Christmas? Merry freaking "every year" !

Why can't they bring back all 3 tight ends?
Oh I don't know, NONE of them were up for free agency of beyond their first contracts.

Talk about inconsistency and lack of continuity

What are they thinking! They think like, " We can't be competitant, uhhh let's find a way to mess things up!

Booo!

Always with cutting the tight ends. Always with the negative vibes moriarity.

Ever since they cut Martin Rucker way back several years ago, they haven't kept and developed their own at the tight end position.

I think it's a stupid move.

Just when somebody, anybody, starts to reach the prime of their career, YOU DUMP THEM, Again,

WHYYY!!!

Seth and a hopeful David coming into his second year and used better, there was no more room and a team actually wants him so he'll stand a better chance of playing there anyway.

I appreciate your time and effort here Randall, and best of luck to you when your crushing people there in a Chiefs uniform.

What, so just because Hue can't find a way to get the ball to Telfer more, or get him more playing time in 3 years that means he isn't going to develop or isn't about to prove he's better?

We had to put up with (evidently) Hue's favorite son at TE Seth DeValve for his first year + when he looked like he didn't belong in the NFL,
(and I say evidently because of the playing time and attempts thrown his way that he got in games)

And he didn't look like he even belonged anywhere in the NFL, and he got better.

Why even draft a guy (Randall Telfer) if you are going to recycle through 2 different General managers and then cut/trade a guy before you even give him a real shot!

Trust the plan, this looks like a diagram of the "plan"

oops
my bad
wait a second
hold on
were gonna
nevermind
were going to a change of plans,

...
Changing the tight ends bothers me more than other positions. In 15 years they can't commit to one direction at the tight end position?

I mean, even if you change all the other things, shouldn't that position be easier, isn't that the core of an identity of a football team, how much difference is there between guys that they can't commit and coach up and get some stability at the tight end position.
Tight ends, and linebackers.

Yeah. I think Ray Farmer drafted him. If I'm not correct, last year was his third season

We traded a former 6th rounder for a former 6th rounder.

I think this is just a trade based on the needs of each team. I like it. Another quick body to rush the QB.

Probably so. Most of Dadi playing time was probably on special teams.

We have done all we can do concerning starting type positions baring some late trade. Now we will seek to bolster the special teams when and where we can.

STs may look different without Tabor? Not sure what to expect?
