Think he'll stay there or will Anderson take over in preseason game #2?

I gotta believe that Anderson will start pre-game #2. He'll look better against the 2nd stringers than Frye will against the 1st stringers. JMO.
And the next head coach is ......

And if that's the thinking then we need a new coach... That's just the wrong reason to start a guy... WOW, He looked really good against scrubs,, Let's start him next week.... Geez,, Brilliant

I can see RAC goign with Anderson next week to give him a chance against the other teams starters... unless he already knows that Frye is going to be the man.

For the first two preseason games they should just interchange Frye and Anderson each series for the entire first half. Either that or Give Frye the first quarter in game 1 and then give Anderson the first quarter in game 2. I guess we will just have to see how it all plays out.

Personally, I'd like to see both CF and DA play Saturday night with the starters.. I'd like to see for myself how they perform.

I can also, but not because Anderson did well against second stringers.. I can understand RAC wanting to see how he stands up to a first string D.. for sure,,
I can also see him starting Anderson if Frye completely bombs out as the starter in PreSeason Game 1...

Just telling you what I think will happen Damanshot.
Anderson will look better than will Frye, so Crennell will put him up against the starters in the following week to see if it was a fluke. Isn't that what a coach should do when the games don't matter?
And the next head coach is ......

Listen, everybody...someone has to be listed 1st.
It only makes sense that the incumbent gets that spot until someone beats him out. RAC said Frye had "a leg up" due to his experience so camp started out like that.
So far it's an ongoing competition. RAC said he would not name a starter for the season opener until he deemed it necessary.
By leaving Frye 1st on the depth chart, he has not yet named a starter. In other words, he didn't promote Frye there, he merely left him there.
It's as simple as that.

It could also mean they want to give Chuck one last look with the first team before they flush him to the curb.
Or....they don't like Anderson.....or Romeo flipped the coin he was talking about and it came up tails for Chuck, or they want to see some of the second string wr's speed and want to have a qb who gets the ball down field....or fill in the blank____________________
At this point, it doesn't really matter

You are CORRECT SIR!!!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think Frye will be the starter for each game.. Anderson will come in 2nd... maybe get a drive or two against the 1st string opponents...

That's what I was trying to say.
It doesn't matter at this point.
No statement has been made just because SOMEONE has to be listed 1st. IT's the nature of mathmatics.
By LEAVING Frye there RAC is not tipping his hand one way or the other.

I don't remember where I heard/read this, but I thought RAC said he still doesn't know who will start the game. He just turned in a depth chart because he was required to do so. I wouldn't make much of this. Actually the guy who plays with the 1st stringers in game 1 may be the one on the way out the door. Maybe one last shot to show something. Or to showcase him for trade value. Wait that might not be such a good idea
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Jester, you read in on the main Browns site: Quote:
Browns release first depth chart Zac Jackson, Staff Writer 08.06.2007 Romeo Crennel made it clear that he released a depth chart Monday only because NFL rules require him to.
And though Crennel warned against "reading into it," it does provide at least a loose look -- at every position but quarterback -- at how the Browns will line up for Saturday's preseason opener against Kansas City.
Crennel said he listed Charlie Frye as the first quarterback "because that's the way it was last year." He said he hasn't decided if Frye or Derek Anderson will start Saturday, though he said both will play.
Among the other notable names on the initial depth chart...
Joe Thomas is listed as the starting left tackle, and Kevin Shaffer is listed as the starting right tackle. Kelly Butler is listed behind Shaffer, while Ryan Tucker -- who will serve an NFL suspension for the first four regular season games -- is listed third.
Kenny Wright is listed as the first-team left cornerback, but he was sidelined by a groin strain Monday. Rookie Eric Wright took the first-team reps in Kenny Wright's place and would likely start if Kenny Wright can't play.
Thomas is the only rookie listed as a first-teamer. The only rookie other than Eric Wright listed with the second team is undrafted fullback Charles Ali.
Joshua Cribbs is listed as the first punt returner and kickoff returner. Chris Barclay and Jerome Harrison follow Cribbs as kick returners, while rookies Syndric Steptoe and Brandon McDonald are listed as the second and third punt returners.
Daven Holly is listed as the second right cornerback behind Leigh Bodden. McDonald is third and Therrian Fontenot fourth.
With Orpheus Roye recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, Shaun Smith is listed as the starter at left defensive end. J'Vonne Parker is listed behind Smith, while Simon Fraser is listed as the second right end behind Robaire Smith.
Jason Wright is listed behind Jamal Lewis at running back, with Harrison third and Barclay fourth.
Braylon Edwards and Joe Jurevicius are listed as the first-team receivers. Behind Edwards are Travis Wilson and Steve Sanders; Tim Carter and Joshua Cribbs follow Jurevicius.
The backup guards are Andrew Hoffman (left) and Isaac Sowells (right), though Sowells has been out with a concussion. Fred Matua is the third-team right guard.

Yeah,, I noticed that.. Frankly, I wonder just how much a Depth Chart means this time of year anyway.. some of the guys on that thing won't be on the team a week from now... and in three weeks, there could be some serious surprises,, who knows.

Is the kenny wright starting at left cornerback surprise anyone? If there was anyone out there who looked comparable to Eric Wright besides leigh bodden it was devan holly. I would think he would be the only one to compete with Wright to start opposite of bodden.

Here's the Sporting News take on our QB Battle http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=251485POSITION BATTLE Clearly the biggest concern is at quarterback. Although everyone expects Quinn to take over at some point this season, the battle for the Week 1 spot is up for grabs between Frye and Anderson. Crennel says he has no intention of naming a starter anytime soon. Players we spoke to this weekend say Anderson will win the job, and he seems to be handling the pressure better.

the first game the starters are only going to get about 15 plays so how can either QB hope to find any sort of rythem?

Definately agree
RAC is going to test them both out and see which is best.
Frye at this point though definately deserves the leg up in preseason with all the hits he has taken for us in the past.

I have full confidence that RAC will put the guy who he feels gives us the best chance to win.
I'll just root for who ever that guy is with all my heart and soul.

Romeo said something like "the NFL makes us put one out .... so we did. There's nothing more to it than that" ......
But read all you want into this one ......
Depth charts in pre-season are meaningless.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

This whole thread just depresses me.
How many other teams don't know who their starting qb is yet?
And before anyone answers, I don't really care. I'm just mainly trying to illustrate the point that it's not a good situation to be in.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
