That was a quote from Blazing Saddles,I just took a bit of literary license. I found it funny and apropos.Like my old man used to say,if you have to explain your jokes, they either weren't that funny or you got the wrong audience.
Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem

Evan BerrySafety/kick returner Evan Berry worked out on offense at Tennessee's pro day BLAKE TOPPMEYER Despite playing safety during his Tennessee career, Berry participated in only offensive and special teams drills during pro day. Berry ran routes as a wide receiver and is committed to making the switch to offense. “I chose what I really felt comfortable with and what I really wanted to do,” Berry said. Berry’s ability as a kick returner got him the most notice during his college career. He’s tied with Willie Gault for the most kick return touchdowns in program history. He was named a first-team All-American returner as a sophomore. Berry played in only three games as a senior. He missed time early in the year with a knee injury and was sidelined late in the season with a broken hand. “Now, I’m feeling good,” Berry said. “Everything is healthy. Everything is 100 percent.”

This guy kicks! Is he just a "camp leg?" I mean that is a fair number for career punt average. Time to order the playoff tickets.

I'm hoping Zane has improved over the offseason. He recovered last year, but we can't afford any lulls in the kicking game

Joe Thomas’ replacement could be a big surprise BROWNS ROOKIE MINICAMP: An undrafted rookie whose film is full of “jaw-dropping plays” is seen by the John Dorsey regime as a legitimate prospect to grow into the left tackle job vacated by Joe Thomas. BEREA On a long day of rookie minicamp, a subtle drop-in just before the class-dismissed bell might have stumbled onto the story of the day. The drop-in came from Hue Jackson as players hit the showers after practice. “Harrison looked very athletic out there at left tackle,” the head coach said. Harrison? Who? Desmond Harrison slipped into Berea as an undrafted free agent. It was not an accident that he picked a team looking to find a left tackle. It is not surprising the Browns picked him. Important voices in the scouting department judge him to have been as physically gifted as any potential left tackle taken high in the draft. This is some of the good stuff about Harrison from an NFL.com scouting report: “His West Georgia tape is filled with jaw-dropping plays. He has alluring athletic traits. He has elite length and athletic ability. He has a rare combination of physical and athletic traits. He moves like a basketball small forward. His tape is filled with nasty finishes.” The bad staff dropped him out of the draft. Harrison will turn 25 in October, and there is a reason he is one of the oldest rookies since Brandon Weeden. After two years at a community college, Harrison joined the Texas Longhorns, appearing in seven games in 2013. In 2014, he was suspended on two different occasions and never played in a game. Dailytexanonline.com reported Harrison was projected as a Longhorns starter prior to his first suspension, for “a violation of team rules.” Harrison never played again for Texas. He spent 2015 and 2016 without a team, meaning he didn’t hit the field for three years before enrolling at West Georgia in 2017. There, he started nine games at the NCAA Division II level for a team that went 7-4 against the likes of Valdosta State, Miles, Shorter and Fort Valley State. He was named to the first team of the All-Gulf South Conference team. Harrison accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, as the oldest player. One of his teammates was going to be Baker Mayfield; except, Harrison begged out of practice and the game, citing a knee problem. He was in Mobile, Ala., long enough to get weighed, and the results were a concern. He came in at 279 pounds. The norm for an NFL left tackle is about 305. Harrison apparently did some eating after the Senior Bowl. Invited to the Combine, he measured an even 6-foot-6 and was recorded at 292 pounds. He ran an eye-popping (for a left tackle) 4.9 40-yard dash, the antithesis of the 5.5-plus that got the son of ex-Brown Orlando “Zeus” Brown dropped from a first-round prospect to the third round (Baker Mayfield’s former Oklahoma teammate, Orlando Brown Jr., was picked by the Ravens). The Browns are known to have taken Brown’s poor Combine results seriously. It shouldn’t be said they went wild over Harrison, since they didn’t draft him, but indications are they see legit potential. Replacing retired icon Joe Thomas is one of the most important jobs of the new personnel team. “The thing that is really important is that there are enough guys at (left tackle) that hopefully we can find someone to be the guy,” Jackson said. Keep an eye on Harrison. The regime is demonstrating a willingness to work with players who, in Jackson’s words, have “some spots” on their résumés. Antonio Callaway was rated by Browns scouts as the first- or second-best wideout talent in the draft, but no one touched him until John Dorsey pushed the button at No. 105 overall on Saturday. Commenting on Callaway’s first Browns practice, Jackson said, “He is fast. He still has a lot to learn.” Jackson said he and Dorsey engaged Callaway in “a candid conversation.” “I think he got the message, loud and clear,” Dorsey said. http://www.cantonrep.com/sports/20180504/joe-thomas-replacement-could-be-big-surprise

I said when we signed him as an UDFA that it might be a really big moment. He was really highly touted and was a BIG national prospect. He has some big potential

This guy kicks! Is he just a "camp leg?" I mean that is a fair number for career punt average. Time to order the playoff tickets. He was brought in as a Punter because of his great hang time, but he can also (really) backup the PK duties. If you can force a fare catch, then you have nullified the return threat.

I agree. He's a player with some baggage and needs to put on a few pounds, but he certainly possesses the athletic skills to play LT and those skills are rare.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Just feels weird reading an article claimin joes replacement could be an undraftd free agent... just seems disrespectful to joe.. Why? Kurt Warner was an UDFA. Sometimes a team just finds a gem.

I of course hope this guy ends up being our surprise LT solution but his issues seem to revolve around a lack of motivation and/or love of the game. Just what I gather from the articles. That’s hard to fix.

That first year ... him and Stephen Davis made me a crap load of money in fantasy football ...
Warner was my last pick in all my drafts ... Davis was either 2nd or 3rd last pick in all but one league ...
What a year ,,,

Some kids learn their lessons and some kids don't. We've put a lot more investment in kids that we're having that very same question about. So to me, with such a small investment it's certainly worth the shot.
Like I said, it's a rare skill set. Much more rare than some understand. So for basically nothing I'm all for giving him a shot.

Dontrell Hilliard RB - Player Analysis+Scouting ServiceFLASH SCOUTING REPORT: Dontrell Hilliard is well-constructed full-service RB with sneaky quick wheels and latent pass-catching chops... Hilliard is an explosive one-cut rusher that attacks the lanes... extremely decisive runner... sees it and hits it instantly... he can gain the edges with speed and vision, but prefers cutting between the tackles... Hilliard has the lateral mobility to elude tacklers (see agility drills), and will jump-cut in the 2nd-level on occasion, but prefers to bolt straight ahead with speed and deliver the blow at the end of a run instead... terrific and quick footwork... sharp stop-start runner, hitting his top gear on a dime... a very underrated receiver with good hands... catches hands-out and naturally... can route downfield and make the catch with ease... LBs will have trouble sticking his hip in the NFL if utilized as a pass-router/catcher... pass-blocking is an unknown at this time, but Hilliard has the mentality and make-up physically to get it done... Hilliard has plenty of college experience (4 years) but enters the NFL with plenty of tread... this is a sudden and talented tailback with real NFL tools... his aggressive rushing nature should translate to pro success, with his best football ahead... he runs rugged, yet has the gear to breakaway... eye-up Dontrell Hilliard; right place and right time is all that’s needed. FANTASY FOOTBALL BREAKDOWN: "In his first 2 college campaigns at Tulane Hilliard hauled down 53 passes. Last 2 seasons the Green Wave back grabbed just 17 throws as the offense shifted away from tossing to the backs. Hilliard’s pass-catching running mate, Sherman Badie, also saw a reduction in receptions in the same 4-year span (51 catches 1st-two seasons; 5 in last two). Don’t let the receiving stats cloud reality; Hilliard can route and shag passes with natural ability. Overall, Hilliard owns true pro-quality RB chops. He is fearless in his play, urgent to the lanes but always under control. He gets every inch available in a straight-line approach and could expand his gains more if he realizes he doesn’t have to run over tacklers in space, owning the lateral agility to make-em-miss. Hilliard has terrific feet, quick and economic. Watch where this very underrated tailback lands. Because of the perceived devaluation of the RB position in the draft process, Hilliard will either come off the board late or not be taken at all. But he’ll end up in an NFL camp this season and given the right circumstances (and the football), Dontrell Hilliard will not only make positive gains, he will shine." Hilliard I think has the makings of a 3rd down RB. Height: 5105 Weight: 202 40 Yrd Dash: 4.42 20 Yrd Dash: 2.65 10 Yrd Dash: 1.59 225 Lb. Bench Reps: 21 Vertical Jump: 34 1/2 Broad Jump: 10'05" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.38 3-Cone Drill: 6.87

The newest Browns quarterback played collegiately at Eastern Michigan, where he helped lead the Eagles to the program’s first winning record in over 20 seasons. Jordan Strack ✔ @JordanStrack St. John’s Grad Brogan Roback is officially signing with the Cleveland Browns. He was in rookie mini-camp with the Ravens last week. 1:07 PM - May 10, 2018 Roback is a Toledo native who previously tried out with the division rival Ravens in their minicamp. honestly, I'm interested to see how our DTs shape out this year. Hopefully there's some good improvement The scariest thing about contemplating the upcoming season is that with Shelton gone, Apart from Ogunjobi, Brantley, and Trevon Coley, the closest they have to a 300+ pound D-lineman is Jamie Meder. edit: I said scariest thing? And didn't mention the losing streak continuing.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

How many 300# DL do you need in Williams's defense?
We have the 4 you mentioned .... and any of Garrett, Smith, or Ogbah can move inside on passing downs.
We also have Trenton Thompson. (who isn't quite 300, but he's close) I think that injuries hurt him in the draft, but I think that he stands a chance of making the team as a 3T. I like him quite a bit as a rotational guy.

I would also add that we have the 1st priority as far as waiver claims. We could easily find another rotation/developmental guy there.

We are going to 'miss' Shelton as much as we are going to 'miss' Haden.

Yeah, the DEs don't need to be 300 lbs. DTs of course
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

We have the 4 you mentioned .... And any of Garrett, Smith, or Ogbah, can move inside on passing downs. We also have Trenton Thompson. 2nd. I really like Trevon Coley, he came out of nowhere, (off wiavers from Balt. iirc. ) and was, I saw some lights out play, covering receivers and such, just figure, he must have outplayed Shelton last year, a real gem, Thank goodness he's there, and I wonder if his game was helped by Shelton still being on the roster. 1st. Ytown you've been here any year I've been here and I don't remember a time at this time of the year, they didn't have 4. Also I'm not giving Meder credit for being 300+ It's not a big worry as long as everyone stays healthy, but Brantley isn't as experienced as I'd like, and neither has Ogunjobi been asked to take on the bulk of the load. Only point was that in short yardage situations and even in not, there has to be some guys that have a lot of heavy in their plant foot to hold the line if the offense forces the issue. Some football adage I've heard is someone is quoted as saying, there are only so many really big guys on this earth, you better make sure you have your share of them. IF, <Big If, If the other team finds out their O-line can push you around and you can't tackle the runner, it could be a situation where they just do that all day, kind of like when Jamal Lewis ran for 580ish against the Browns in 2 games while on the Ravens in whatever year 2006ish. Ogbah is a good tackler but he's light. Garrett has worried me against the run, runs to the outside, or if he has to move to the inside, or if it's coming right at him. Looking at the roster, Thompson and Smith, don't know them, Meder is listed at 308, I recall him playing at a lighter weight, maybe I'm wrong. I'm not worried about the passing downs, it's the Nose Tackle and Inside on rushing downs.

I saw some spurts from Brantley, Coley, and Ogunjobi to feel like at least one of them will turn out to be a good player (Coley is my guess). I think next year's draft is the perfect time to address that GOOD DT spot

Larry Ogunjobi played 300 snaps last year. (on defense)
Caleb Brantley played 200. (on defense)
Trevon Coley played 656 defensive snaps.
Meder played 171 defensive snaps.
We will be replacing Shelton's 467 defensive snaps. (more or less) I think that the combination of Ogunjobi, Brantley will slide right in there.
Williams doesn't want a Bob Golic at DT. He wants guys who can penetrate and attack the middle. Do those guys have to be 300#+? Nope. A 4-3 DT can easily be 275 to 290. (especially when a DE slides inside situationally)
Ogbah is 275, by the way. That's not exactly light.

Just feels weird reading an article claimin joes replacement could be an undraftd free agent... just seems disrespectful to joe.. 1. It will take more than one year for this kid to be considered a replacement.
2. Think back to the days when our OL was a sieve and we would sign THE TOP UDFA this or that and we would get excited only to find a kid who had POTENTIAL cause of his SPECS but never did they come through...similar to BEN GAY. But OL.
3. Can it happen? Yes but as I stated we have to work with this kid for at least a year or two and then see if he can beat out Shon Coleman who right now is our best bet for a LT to be considered sufficient to survive with.
4. Disrespectful to Joe Thomas, I don't get that statement. Anyone trying to man that position unless taken in the top 3 of the draft should be considered Disrespectful.
5. Right now we are not looking at the position for us to revere Joe Thomas. We are looking at the position to be filled by the best possible prospect out there and/or somebody already on our team. If we are successful we can thank all the prayers and I can say this for certain. Joe Thomas would be tickled pink at our success in replacing him not feel disrespectful.
Its a concern that does not exist except for a Fan or two I guess.

I think people are just twisting what's been said. I commented on the kid having the physical attributes to play the position. That is a rare skill set.
In no means did I ever elude to saying the kid could replace JT. As you stated, a lot of people that played the game have great physical skill sets. Many of those players never amounted to anything. However, when you see the skills and can get that player with almost a zero investment, it's always worth it to take a flyer.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Ogbah is 275, by the way. That's not exactly light. Last year was valuable experience for that group, coupled with an offseason and another training camp, they should be ready for the season. I think that they are a pretty talented youg group and adding a 21 year old in Trent Thompson, who btw played at over 300 lbs last season, so he can carry the extra weight if they so choose. Like many of his peers, he probably lost the weight for the combine. Thompson said that he is finally healthy and if he can maintain his health, then he could be a bargain, with the value of probably a 3rd round draft pick...for the price of a FA.
