Proof that the orange doesn't fall far from the tree... and what the hell was the kush doing giving a speech there as well... neither of them should be representing the US...
Can't we just have one embassy with a door for Israel and a door for Palestine? Then both doors can open into the same room.
Sure. When we recognize Palestine as a state, like Barak Obama should have done (like all the other countries in the world overwhelmingly did)
And it goes further than that, because, this is a matter of accepting Jeruselum as part of Israel. Which, IMO, it shouldn't be. It's a big bargaining chip that we just handed over to the Israelies in the whole fight for Palestinian legitimacy
Maybe that is the goal in the big picture, that both people share the city. I don't think we have handed anything over. I think this is the first step in finding a lasting peace in the region. No sense in keeping a embassy in Tel Aviv when we can be in a position to do more good.
In some ways one can say we just moved further away from Israel.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
What was the purpose of her being there ? Did we not want to involve a senior diplomat or cabinet members available ? Is this the Trump way of branding this political move ? Why ?

Ivanka is unquestionably the smartest person in the White House. I have to wonder what Kushbomb is doing there. I thought he got thrown off of the middle East when his security clearance got denied. Didn't he get demoted to some domestic problem like opiods?

At this point, I think a two state solution is the only possibility. Unfortunately, with the infrastructure that Israel has put in in the region, it makes it very difficult.
I'm not sure how moving the US Embassy to Israel from Tel Aviv to Jeruselum is going to make any progress in the matter.
The city should be shared by all religions. And International City State welcoming to all religions.
To be clear, just because I recognize the plight of the Palestinian people, doesn't mean I give passes to all the other countries in the region. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria, Egypt. They're all on my list.
I just don't blindly give Israel a pass like our Government does.
And I understand why Israel does what it does even. But it doesn't mean that we should accept it
Flip side to every coin . We have earned our enemies in America fair and square .
Bingo. If you look at the history of what those people went through. And put yourself in their shoes, and see the unwavering support that Israel gets from us. It leaves them in a very vulnerable position.
Mix in the propaganda that's so prevalent in that region, and it's real easy for people to think of America as the enemy. Why wouldn't they? They've gotta deal with us because of our Security Council Vote and the power we have over the UN.
But, how can they like us when we show favoritism toward Israel at every stop? I mean, these are real people, with real lives, we're talking about here
FYI: Palestinian terrorists took 11 Israeli Olympic athletes and a German cop hostage during the 1972 Olympics and tortured and murdered them. Some of them were castrated first in front of the others who were soon tortured and killed themselves.
Quote:
"They're all gone." For millions of people who recall the slaughter unleashed by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, those words are indelible. They were spoken by ABC's Jim Mckay—the man behind the famous "thrill of victory, agony of defeat" introduction to the network's long-running show, Wide World of Sports—when he learned that Israeli athletes and coaches taken hostage by terrorists from the group Black September had been murdered.
I doubt the Israelis think they owe Palestinians anything.

Sorry, not sorry - I have 0 sympathy for anyone that cries for the murder of millions of people simply because they don't believe what they believe.
If they had more power, do you not think they would be starting Holocaust part duex? If they could, they would slaughter every jewish person and every American within reach, and not think twice about it. feel free to back that if you want.
Sure, Rocky. But do you think the Israelies did nothing to the Palestinians?
I mean, really? What happened at the Munich Olympics was terrible. But there's two sides to everything. From the start.
And they don't live in equality side by side. One side, controls the other. One side, votes in the political elections that count. One side lives under occupation, while the other doesn't. One side was thrown out of their homes by an army, with many still living in the squalor of refugee camps.
This was going on before the events in Munich too you know.
Everything is cause and effect. Understandably, there's bad blood on both sides.
But, that doesn't mean, our blatant bias toward the Israeli side, ignoring all the injustices they've committed is right.
Because it's absolutely wrong. And I don't blame any Palestinian for resenting the United States for this. I like to think that they're like any other human on this Earth. And if we stopped showing blatant favoritism toward Israel, that maybe, the Palestinians would eventually come around.

That criteria fits America ..just ask Native Americans .Please come back with how we didn't systematicly practice genocide ..please do !
Look ya wanna thump your chest yelling Merica all the time go ahead but at a bare minimum at least know what this country has done , is capable of and will continue to do in the name of control . A long and we'll documented bloody history lies behind us .

Your talking about hundreds of years ago, to something that occurs every day. weird, the left says we the second amendment is outdated because something 300 years ago has no effect on anything today, yet you want to believe that something that happened 300 years ago means we are evil today.
I stand with the USA and our allies. If that's chest thumping, imma thumping bud. I do not and will not CONDONE evil.
Im curious, would Palestinians be so warming of you as they are them? Take a trip over there and let me know.
So the actions that America perpetrated in the past have a statute of limitations ? There is one simple reason that particular evil isn't still happening today and that is because we were so very effective in our practices . I don't feel one way or the other abut it because every nation in every country has similar stains on their history . I just demand that the flag waving pseudo patriots recognize the foundation is built on bones . You stand with America and its allies alright just a little too far back IMO .
As for going to the Middle east ...been there done that . Once in uniform couple of times on business and the people that I encountered were not so much different than me . See Billy Ray I have travelled quite a bit outside the confines of this country and it has given me a perspective that you cant get sitting in an easy chair watching Fox news . People are people the world over and most want the simple things in life just like we do .

Lost of ASSumptions and name calling there. One might say you are a bigot.....not me, but some.
Do you think the Israelis torture innocent Palestinians to death?
Go ahead:
"Well yeah....I think so..."
Hey, in general, I think you're a nice guy. You've invited me up to the bar you go to up in Northern CT, I think I'm even part of the SNEBB Facebook Page. So I don't want anything to get too personal. I'm sure you can see, that this issue has been a big deal for me for awhile. And I think one side gets way too much representation and coverage in this country. I've always felt that way.
We'll just disagree on this.
I don't agree on torturing innocents, period. Never have. Nor do I agree with anything Hamas does. I understand why Hamas exists. I would never support a terrorist organization, and one that has committed atrocities like Hamas has committed.
But if you think that Israel hasn't committed its own evil acts, then you're kidding yourself. And if you don't think that Israel has been accused of torturing Palestinians, that's untrue as well.
Here's an article from Amnesty International regarding plenty of abuses
Only the lucky ones get tortured. The unlucky get killed. They've literally imprisoned the entire West Bank.
Most Palestinians live under occupation.
I don't think people on here understand that. I mean, Palestinians living in the West Bank can't vote in Israeli Elections. They can only vote for their own governments in their regions which aren't true sovereign governments. They aren't Israeli citizens.
Yet, they're under all sorts of restrictions, from fresh water to freedom of movement. And, if they ever do something that Israel sees unfit, Israel will just send in their military to enforce whatever they want. They have absolutely no rights
Tuskegee Alabma 1972 , Guatemalan Genocide , Banana Wars , MKULTRA ,various medical experiments on innocent children ,prisoners , mentally ill etc... the list goes on .
Oh and lets not forget that we are the gold medal winners in state sponsored terrorism and second aint even in the picture , All boils down to who is telling the story . Personally I am of the opinion that sometimes ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet but to claim we are righteous is a joke .

Not to mention their land has been stolen from them over the past 70 years. Israel is not the moral leader that people think they are. A week ago Vambo posted an article about how they're kicking refugees who are Ethiopian Jews. They actually switched positions pretty shortly after due to the international pressure.

Well it's nice to see some people on the board who know this stuff.
It's just so frustrating to me that this country has such a narrative that's so one-sided in the debate.
And then you say something against Israel, and folks start pointing their fingers at you like you're anti-semetic (or later in this thread, a supporter of Hamas). I mean, all i'm against is the unjust treatment of Palestinian people. What's going on over there is Apartheid. It's occupation and oppression.
All I want to do is the right thing. I like America being the good guy. It's the impression that I had as a little kid, and I'd like my children to be able to hold the same impression some day.
Interesting how the land occupation map has changed over the past 20 years. This is not a demographic distribution that leans anywhere near a "2-state nation." Looks like America, 1776-1899 .
Bibi's happy, even as neighboring streets run red. His English-language Power Point presentation to the Knesset worked on the only audience it was truly aimed at... Dolt 45.
Well-played, Netenyahu... you fellow high-placed criminal.
This will never be resolved. 3,000 years of entrenchment isn't going to be smoothed over/fixed by A pseudo- Haute Couture handbag designer and a skeevy real estate landlord.

That's the truth. Not sure how peace can be negotiated while Israel continues to build illegal settlements in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.....
We'll certainly see how this all works out though. I don't see it getting better any time soon. It'll get harder and harder to ignore as the populations even out and Palestinians soon surpass them (supposedly as soon as 2020). The average Israeli GDP per Capita is 37,000$. The average Palestinian is 1900$. It's a mega difference. As the world sees that the Israeli's (a minority) are such haves, and the Palestinians (majority) are have-nots; there will be even more pressure for things to change. The two standards of living are just so far apart
