The Brady Quinn saga is now officially over.
The rookie quarterback has agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, FOXSports.com has learned.
The deal, which was agreed to Tuesday morning, has not yet been signed.
The two sides are still trying to work out the final details of the agreement, but Quinn was en route to Cleveland to join his teammates on Tuesday.
The No. 22 pick in this year's draft out of Notre Dame, Quinn had been working out in Tempe, Ariz. at Athletes Performance Institute, and last week said he was hoping his holdout would end soon.
His hopes have now been answered.

I agree. Had the Browns been closer to this offer in the beginning this whole mess could have been avoided.
Almost makes me think they wanted him a few weeks late.

Updated!
The Brady Quinn saga is now officially over.
The rookie quarterback has agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, FOXSports.com has learned. The deal is worth $20.2 million, and could reach a total value of $30 million with escalators. The contract contains $7.75 million in guaranteed money.

I've kinda been thinking this too (even though it would be somewhat stupid). Keep him out of camp a week or two, avoid the "he should start" chants and get him ready for a mid-season takeover.

Now, get your ass into camp and show everyone how good you're supposed to be.
You've already screwed yourself. It's time to overcome your stupidity.

The numbers actually favor the FO if what was leaked to the papers has any credence to it... Condom was rumored to be asking for close to 50 million if escalators were met and according to the article, they were very achievable ones... Again going off of my memory here but it was set to be like a top 5 contract if the escalators kicked and that was the sticking point with the F.O. as they had to do with % of snaps, completion % etc...
Glad to see us not totally take this one up the tailpipe...
I still see the kid POSSIBLY starting after the bye week... Time for him to hit the books and get thrown into the camp mix!

Yes...are you ready for some Browns football?
I know I am.
Now everyone needs to get behind Quinn and all the Browns. I doubt that Quinn starts right away but who knows?
We do know that Crennel will likely have Quinn in # 4 slot on the depth chart.
Let's see what the kid can do....go Browns...mac

What article? Alli ever heard was 30 mil and they were bickering about what it took to improve the contract.

Well, I'm glad he signed, but I'm a little disappointed in the 5 year deal. You hope to have a QB locked for 6. It usually takes a year or 2 for development anyways.
Now let's see how long it takes for him to catch on. I hope not long, because I'm not encouraged from the words I'm hearing out of camp on the other 2.
"The Browns' defense is kicking mucho dupa."

Am I wrong, or isn't it a rule that only the higher picks in the first round can be signed for six years?

Come on you n Peen really think we purposely offered him a Fair contract and had him be greedy with some HYPNOTIC Suggestion thingy...lol
Glad this is over...my biggest fear was having this drawn out where we would lose the pick and the services of BQ. Now I can breathe easy and don't develop more stress...
Btw...looks like we gave him a contract better than #15.
The important thing its done and over and he's coming in. Just too late to really get into the program as a rookie. Around week 4 he should start getting caught up then it will all depend how our Offense is moving and how our QB is working out.
I'm sure if we have 3-4 wins by week 11-13 BQ will become our starter. Hopefully BQ will not see the time of day meaning we are doing pretty decent.

I know 2nd round and above can't, I'm not sure if there's a cutoff point in the first. If there is, then my apologies. But if he's a top 10 talent like Condom said, he should be in for 6

I don't think it is impossible to have him out there week 2-3.
Week 1 for that matter.

five or six years... if he's as good as some think, we'll just re-structure by year 4. Not a problem anytime soon.

Peenie...so your just waiting to trash one of our Browns?
Let me tell you something Peenie, might be better for you to find another team if that is your attitude.
We've seen your game before and I don't know how you can call yourself a Browns fan with that kind of attitude...looking to trash our own players???
We need real Browns fans, not those that just pretend to be long time Browns fans.
