The NFL draft is heading to the Music City. NFL team owners approved the Tennessee Titans' bid to host the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville. The selection was ratified Wednesday at the Spring League Meeting in Atlanta. The 84th NFL draft, which takes place April 25-27, 2019, will span across multiple landmarks in Nashville's historic downtown district. "I'm so excited for the city of Nashville and so proud that we've been selected as the host city for the 2019 NFL Draft," Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said during a news conference. "As we all know, Nashville has a well-deserved reputation as a city that loves the big stage and loves a big party ... we're looking forward to April of next year." The NFL has made the draft a road show the past four years, holding it in Dallas last month, Philadelphia in 2017 and Chicago in 2015 and 2016. Several other cities were under consideration for hosting the 2019 draft, including Las Vegas and Denver. "Following an exciting and successful event in Dallas, we're thrilled to take the NFL draft to Nashville. The city has a passionate fan base and offers iconic locations that will enable us to expand the Draft in unique ways," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. "We look forward to working with the Tennessee Titans, the City of Nashville, and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp to deliver a memorable celebration of football to our fans and incoming players." If the Titans' new uniform unveiling earlier this year can be used as a barometer of Nashville's football fanaticism, next year's draft should draw plenty of fan interest from the Tennessee faithful and other NFL fans. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...-2019-nfl-draft

get ready for a painstakingly amount of country music played during promos
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Rumor is Cleveland/Canton is the forerunner for 2020 since it will be the 100th anniversary. I've read Vegas is pushing hard for it too, though I don't remember where.

I hope that my back is back in one piece by the time we get the draft. I would love to go to the draft. Maybe I could even give the team some advice ....

Since I live less than 30 minutes from Nashville my odds of making it are pretty good.

I lived ~2 miles from the draft that was in Chicago a few years back. I never bothered to attend. It was cold, rainy and crowded. Even if it were warm, sunny and great seats were available, I'd have probably stayed home. I get excited for our picks, but I don't think I'd enjoy being at a draft.
All that being said, I hope Cleveland/Canton gets the draft because it will be a good boost to the economy, bring more eyes to Cleveland and might give us some good luck.

While I'm not speaking about you, a lot of people make fun of the south. I've been to Chicago, Atlanta, New York and many other urban areas in my lifetime. I can tell you, bar none, that Nashville is an exciting and fun city to spend time in. As with any other city you have good areas and bad, the people and heart of this city, they way the welcome visitors and host events is second to none.
Nashville is unique in one respect. A lot of the people who live here are not from here. Job opportunities and the music industry draw people from all over the nation here. It's quite a blend of people with differing backgrounds. Many of our posters who have come here to see the Browns play the Titans have loved it.
A lot of my attending the event will be directly tied to how many Browns fans I know that will attend. Living in Nashville I don't get the opportunity to see old friends who post on this board anymore the way I used to when I lived in Ohio. I also don't get the opportunity to meet posters I have never met on this board before.
I would welcome the opportunity to see and meet our fellow posters more than anything else associated with the actual draft. To welcome them to Nashville, meet them and have the chance to spend some time with them would be something I would certainly enjoy.

I don't think I would want to sit through the draft, but I certainly do want to go to Nashville again. Loved that place. I promise I'll contact you and we can get together again. That was a fun day and I got a whole new appreciation for you as a person.

As I did you Vers. I learned many years ago that the written word is a very hard way to try to interpret who or what a person really is. Often times people get the wrong concept.
When the Browns first came back we had a regular tailgate place we called Dawg Talk Island in the Muni lot. I met a lot of posters. Some were exactly the way I had pictured them while some were totally different.
I think that exact same thing happened when we met. I certainly look forward to seeing you again.
