Why pass to Clarkson twice in a row? He rarely makes it from out there.

We hit those two 3's and LeBron makes a layup and the score is 83-79.

When you caught the ball on your feet then fell down on your back, it has ALWAYS been travelling.. is that not a thing any more? Because that was obvious

Multiple opportunities around the 7 minute mark to get this under 10 and can't make a shot. Clarkson building a house out there.

Whatever it's gonna take will be a pretty huge comeback, at this stage of things.

Lebron is looking his age. He has nothing left right now. His team has let him down big time. He needs to go where he does t have to be the first option every single game

we'll win game 6, but game 7 will be a difficult task IMO.
I think Boston's physicality wears on us, and they're much better at home
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

j/c:
It's an odd phenomenon, but some of our "fans" seem happier when the we lose than when we win. They sure post a lot more and just love ripping on the team.
Observations:
--It was an ugly game, but I had a feeling we would probably lose this one. I still think that we hold serve in game 6 at home and having LeBron and more experience will help us win game 7.
--I think the officiating was pretty bad. We have a rookie holding LeBron to get a steal. No call. That same rookie comes down and tries to initiate contact w/Love who sidesteps him, and the rookie goes to the line. How is he getting more respect than the game's greatest player and an All Star?
--I will say Love looked so damn soft at times. It was very upsetting.
--LeBron was careless w/the ball and he did look very tired. I wonder if he came down w/something?
--We need more from JR. I also think Korver should have played more early on.
Oh well. Tough loss, but the war is not over. I still have faith we can win this one.

We did not do "whatever It Takes." Substantially less. If it is the best and all we have, we should not move on. LBJ is beat up. Loo is a growth watching over there.
JRS did not help much, Love was truly weak in spots. And we took turns missing quick 3s. They were tough, but, but we did more to kill our game off.
Just need more.

Game 7 will decide it obviously. We need to be more mentally tough IMO. When we start reeling and don't make shots we just slip away

jc http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/news/cav...k916k687usm0d2bCavs coach Tyronn Lue offers baffling explanation for Kyle Korver's lack of minutes Kyle Korver has been one of the Cavs' most important pieces throughout the 2018 NBA playoffs. It sounds strange to say that about a 37-year-old sharpshooter well past the prime of his career, but the numbers support it. When Korver has scored at least 12 points, Cleveland is 8-0 in the postseason. When he has hit at least four 3-pointers, the Cavs are 7-0. He's certainly not the main reason for the team's success because a guy named LeBron James exists, but you would think he'd be on the floor for significant minutes in a huge Game 5 against the Celtics, right? Nope. Korver failed to log a second of playing time in the first quarter of Wednesday night's 96-83 loss, finishing with seven points in a little over 18 minutes of action. It was certainly a confusing decision by Cavs coach Tyronn Lue — and he didn't exactly have a great explanation for why Korver was stuck to the bench in the opening period. "Well, initially [Celtics coach Brad Stevens has] been putting [Semi] Ojeleye in, so that's been kind of Kyle's matchup when he comes in the game," Lue said in response to a question from The Athletic's Jason Lloyd. "When he didn't play him tonight, it kind of threw us for a loop." https://twitter.com/gifdsports/status/999493374339112960Coaches make lineup changes based on matchups all the time, especially in the playoffs when every tiny advantage counts, but choosing to sit one of your most productive players because he can't go out against a guy averaging 2.5 points per game in the Eastern Conference finals is just . . . weird. Ojeleye is a fine role player, but he shouldn't impact your rotation at this stage in the series. By the way, the Cavs got outscored 32-19 in the first quarter and shot only 7-of-17 from the field. Korver might have been able to help there. I don't think I have ever seen such a mismatch in coaching this late in a postseason, in any sport. It goes beyond just matchups; think about how Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder played in Boston compared to their time in Cleveland. When a 2 point swing can be the difference between a win and a loss, I don't understand how people can honestly think that coaching doesn't matter. Boston obviously has a great young core but I can only imagine the havoc Ty Lue would have played on that had he been the coach of the Celtics these last couple years. The players simply wouldn't have developed as well with inferior coaching and they wouldn't have been put into situations they could succeed. If somebody would have told us before the start of the season that the Celtics, without Gordon Hayward or Kyrie Irving, would be up 3-2 on the Cavs in the ECF with 3 convincing wins, we probably would have told them they were insane.

Agreed. Tryonn Lue is a joke. This group of guys does not play well together, they don't play good defense consistently, and they turn the ball over way too much. Not to mention how he proceeds to play guys like Jeff Green and JR Smith instead of Korver. The Cavs do hustle. They do try. And Lebron is ridiculously good. But the team doesn't have that much talent, they're mentally weak, and I think they're very poorly coached. Mix that with the horrible refs from last night, and the Cavs will lose. Even worse, they are looking miserable in their losses. It's really not a good sign.

He's way too inconsistent. He also doesn't pass the ball. We could of had the lead down to 6 or less, but he blew two wide open jumpers.

Lue should have just said "We just had a slightly different plan tonight for various reasons" or something ... why even divulge that info?
so dumb

I rather see a guy like Osman over Clarkson, especially late in games when his hustle and energy would have been a big lift to a team that looked like they had nothing left. I said during the game, no way in hell Clarkson should have been on the floor in the 4th, dude is the worst part of the trade. But as it has been all playoffs, guys like Hill/Love/JR disappear and theres literally nothing left. Compounding this is the worst coach in the playoffs. Without lebron he'd be an end of the bench assistant somewhere. He will be gone regardless. I don't think this goes 7, I think the cavs see what time it is and I think you'll see a game like 2010 when lebron checked out.

I really got the feeling watching that second half that LeBron was not giving 100%., not even 70%.
This is the way he played in Jan/Feb. It is also the way he played in that Boston series before he left.

I really don't like what I saw from LeBron in game 5. if we somehow win game 6, I'd never bet against Lebron in a game 7 home or away, but I don't think he's got enough left...unless this is his plan all along. Theres just too much dead space on this team...starting with the booster seat

92.3 said it best on my way home... pretty much something like:
"Who else can you say did their job outside LeBron? Did Love do his job? Did JR do his job?" and I agree. We had a great start too. Love was shooting some threes, one of them early ones was deep beyond the line. Clarkson, yeah Clarkson... nailed two three balls in a row. Where was Korver, the dude that has been pretty on fire lately, the whole first half?
Game six tomorrow is going to be a nervous situation for me. If I have to say one thing that I know I'm 100% behind, that is I don't want Ty Lue here anymore after this season.

Houston/GS was really fun. Couple observations: both these teams would destroy whoever comes out of the east, the gap of talent is huge. Also, Harden is not the mvp. They won in spite of him. No way he’s more valuable to that team than lebron is to Cavs. Also hahahahaha at green dribbling the game off his knee

Houston is bringing that defensive intensity in this series.
