Brady Quinn's contract is not your business...or mine....mac

You must have learned that from me in the discussion we had a couple of years back when you were making your demands on what the Browns should be going after in Winslow's second contract.

Since when did you become this homeresque, goody-two-shoes?

hey duddia...You got my post?

Or you "trying" to rely on your memory?

I never complained about Winslow's contract and unless you produce "my" post with a board time stamp on it...well, IMO, your just making crap up.

I will tell you this...when Winslow had his bike accident, and everyone was calling for Winslow to give money back...my opinion was that it was a great opportunity to negotiate an extension of Winslow's contract.

What did the Browns do?

Do you recall?

Funny but there will always be these type of debates but if either guy was the answer we would all know it. Do you think Packer fans were debating between Favre and Don Majkowski?

Actually, I have two very good friends (husband and wife) who are diehard Packer fans,,, they'll tell you that there was a very heavy debate over those two guys...

mac, you CONSTANTLY do this.

You say stupid crap, people call you on it, and then you request people to prove you said it when you know damn-well that they can't because it's a purged thread or on the old board.

Get a clue, dude.

They did a new contract and added some incentives so that he could make the money back.. But if I recall, he didn't get a bonus that he was due. Can't remember the number,, something like a couple of Million I think.

So,, you picked that right,, that doesn't mean you are right about what we can and can't discuss on this board,,,,,

Now if he shuts up and works hard he'll be our starter by week 8,

Naaaa, he doesn't have to start by week 8 ..for once I'd like to see our rookie QB get the time to learn on the bench then slowly get some reps...and be ready to go next year full tilt..

No, that was already in progress. Your opinion was exactly what the Browns should be demanding from Winslow within that contract and why. As though it were "your business".

No problem. You had an opinion. An opinion on a players' contract. An opinion, the likes of which you now claim is nobody's business.

Somehow you've become the defender of the front office, the team, and anyone on it. Suddenly, no one is to have an opinon that is not perfectly in line with the status quo. And nothing is anyones business if you deem it so. That's cool if you've turned over a new leaf. And it's extra cool because it was like, necessary.

But to act now like you're one who's never had a conflicting opinion on anything Brown is a laugh. I don't need to save posts with a "board time stamp" on them.

Nor do I have to make crap up to find humor in that.

As assinine as that reporter was for asking that question, it was actually a question that had to be asked if only so Quinnn could address it.

I think fans needed to hear from him what they did and it helped both he and the fans to put it behind them.

Didn't it?

There were better ways to ask it, like if he thinks holding out for more money in a "blue collar city" (IMO that's an old stereotype that doesn't hold much water anymore) potentially damages his reputation and makes fans angry. There was no reason to word it the way she did. There probably should have been a question about the autograph session even though we already know the story just so he could address the fans again.

And then the rest of the media room teed off on him. I try to put myself in his shoes since we're close to the same age and from what I've read we have some similar hobbies (except of course he's a rich world class athlete while I grab another beer from the fridge at a party)...I gotta tell ya, maybe that extra two years he has on me does a lot because I couldn't have handled that press conference the way he did, and I'm not the type who melts down.

There should have been more FOOTBALL questions asked. I was very intrigued at what he said about watching all the film cutups from OTA's, minicamp and training camp from a laptop and taking all the pages he was allowed to take after minicamp. I wanted to hear more about it. While no doubt he's far behind, I'm holding out hope that he's not nearly as far behind as Romeo wants to make him out to be.

Hell, Matt Leinart held out longer and still played Week 5.

Somehow, mac feels no one else can have an opinion differing from his when it's about a QB.......Gosh, who woulda guessed.......

He and Corpus are gonna have a real hard year if Brady doesn't light it up in 2007.

I might be one of only a handfull on here that think this way, but that question was asked in an effort to embarass Quinn.. it had no value what so ever within the topic,, at least not IMO anyway.

This kinda thing is what I like to refer to as THUG Journalism.. Trying to trap the interviewee into saying something that they can blow out of proportion and use over and over again to embarass him..

Again, It might just be my opinion and nobody has to agree, but if it's me that makes the decision who gets a press pass and who doesn't, whoever asked that question will never be allowed in that room again.. I know some will say that that smacks of cencorship,, but no, it's not. If you understand what I mean by THUG journalism, then you get it, if you don't, then what can I tell you.

Think of it this way for a moment, THUG journalism is more like the Enquiror and less like The New York Times... Does that help?

Or maybe the difference between a REAL journalist and a THUG journalist is like the difference between a Photo Journalist and Papparazzi... Maybe that clears it up more,,,
