In order to win the series, we're going to have to steal a game in Oakland. Might as well be game 1.

Don't think I would ever be considered a hard core basketball fan.

I watch some games during the regular season. If my team is in the playoffs I watch.

Back in the day; when Bird and Magic were the talk I was all in.

Now it is about LeBron. He is just something to see.

The Cavs don't really match up to a team that has been the same for years running their game. The Warriors are a very good team.

But you watch sports to see the unknown. To see the improbable. Like when Buster Douglas took out Tyson.

Like when the Cavs were down 3-1 to the Warriors and won the championship.

Can they win now? Probably not but that is why you watch.

Just think what would all the experts will be saying given that they all picked the Warriors.

Maybe the Cavs will respond like a wounded animal.

sic um boys.

That's a good way to look at it. I know upsets (and injuries) happen. The Cavs won back in 2016-- an amazing series no doubt-- but the realist in me says that was before Durant signed with the Warriors and before we gave away Irving. And forget regular season records.. the regular season doesn't really matter in the NBA. Lebron figured that out years ago and these Warriors have since done the same.

I just call it like I see it. I don't think the Cavs have much of a chance. I'll still root for them. If they come through it will be sweet and if they lose.. well I kind of expected it anyway. It is what it is.

Don't take my word for it though.

You could bet $1,000 on the Warriors, and if they win, you'd win $100.

Or you could bet $1,000 on the Cavs, and if they win, you'd win $6,500.

If anyone thinks I'm too down on the Cavs chances, you could always put some money on them.

I don't think you're too down at all. Anybody can pull an upset in one game, but it's a tall order to be this heavy of an underdog and win a 7 game series.

On paper we have no chance. Games aren't played on paper though.

So I'll be watching with just a tiny bit of hope that Golden State somehow goes cold, and our guys magically get hot to give LeBron the help he needs.

This board never ceases to amaze me.

The Browns have won 3 games, 1 game, and 0 games in the last 3 years, yet the posters on this board flip out if you say anything negative about the team.

The Cavs have now made the playoffs and reached the NBA Finals 4 straight years and won an actual championship. Yet, many of our posters call them trash and rag on them constantly. Instead of simply enjoying the ride, they gotta [censored] on our parade.

In fairness to the Browns, they would be pretty big favorites against the Cavs in a football game.

I think love being out made everyone better for one game.
If that carries on when he is back the D will be better and we have a chance!! Oh yeah we have Lebron too.

The odds are definitely against us. Hoping we don't get swept. At the same time, everyone said we had no chance when we down 3-1 2 years ago. Nothing is ever easy in Cleveland sports.

Irony, I just found out I'm literally going to the Finals. I'll be at the game next Friday with family. I can't wait!!!! I have never been to a championship game before. Much less the Cavs with Lebron. Wow.

I understand that the Cavs are big underdogs, but here are a few things that I believe might give us a chance. They don't all have to occur in every game. Just in four of those games.

1. This one is obvious. LeBron has to play w/a superhuman effort. If he pulls this off, the talk of him passing Jordan will intensify.

2. KLove has to regain his deadly shooting stroke from the outside. He has to rebound like he is capable of. Love has been a great player before. We need him to play like again.

3. TT has to do his thing, which is offensive rebound, set hard screens, roll off of picks, and play great perimeter defense on Golden State's shooters.

4. Jeff Green has the length to give us some minutes on Durant. He's gotta come in, defend, rebound, and give us something on O. Not a ton of offense, but at least something.

5. We need guys like Korver, JR, Clarkson, and Hill to get hot at certain parts in various games. It's imperative that we shoot our 3s well. We are a different team when we are hot from outside.

6. Our defensive intensity was much better against Toronto and Boston. That must continue. We need to scramble on D and contest shots.

7. Lue cant be a dolt and allow Kerr to dictate the match-ups. I don't think he will try this, but I would love to see what GS would do if we occasionally went w/a lineup of TT, Love, Green, LeBron, and either Hill, JR, or Korver.

8. We gotta put Curry on the floor. Run him into picks on O. Don't allow him easy paths when he penetrates. Take one or two hard fouls on his jump shots each game.

Once again, I don't think we can do some of these things each game. GS is too good. But, I think there might be a chance that we can do them for 4 games. Either way, I'm enjoying the ride.

I just have this feeling that Lebron shocks the world and carries us past GSW. I know everything on paper says no way, but the games not played on paper

Game day baby! As long as we don’t look flat, then we might have a chance this series. But we have to come out with energy.

Either way, I’m just happy we’re back in the finals, because all you can ever hope for is just he opportunity to compete!

I think we get blown out the first game, then we'll settle down and be competitive. Lebron so much as admitted he uses the first game or two as feel out games. Lead will come unglued and say that we're trash, and then hopefully have to eat his words like he usually does.

Yeah, we typically struggle in game 1 of a series. LeBron has even talked about how it's a "feeling out" game.

I think it would be huge if we can get game 2 of this series.

We're a long shot, but at least we have a shot.

I think the longer the series goes the less chance we have..If we are going to have any chance, we need to get our 4 wins out of the way asap. dragging it out more will just exhaust lebron more. Still don't think we can match up with GSW. They just have too much advantage up and down the lineup..biggest one is coaching..Lue is reactive instead of proactive...doesn't play the best lineups because the other team didn't play the guy he thought they would...Lue needs to trust his productive lineup and stick with it. Force Kerr to change.. Problem is GS has a bevy of talent on the bench and can switch any position. If we can win one of these first two games I'd feel like theres a chance..I think game 1 will be our best shot.

Green's value might be highest this series; we need his versatility.

ALso, TT is important against GS too

Lebron, Green, TT, Hill, and JR might be our best shot

Might as well just win it all.Just 16 quarters and some other guys to beat. Get on this hard.

Ignore some threes for drives. Not kicking it out every time makes Them play defense and take fouls.

Houston sure showed us how NOT to rely on three shots to hurt these guys, and less miss transitions help us too.

Go, Cavs! Shock & Awe!

I was surprised how long it took Lue to remember in the EC Series that TT completely owns Al Horford. He basically got himself a near-max deal specifically because of that.

If everything was reversed and the Cavs were the heavy favorites then I would be nervous.

Right now very relaxed. I relish the underdog role.

If the Cavs lose; no big deal.

If they were to win it would be epic. All the basketball junkies would freak out. All the analysts so sure of themselves. It would be so fun to watch them eat crow.

I said this in 16 and it came out to be true

You gotta knock Stephanie around. Let him hit some free throws but he needs to get knocked on his ass a few times. You cant let him run free . In 16 when we beat them we knocked him around and he ended up throwing a temper tantrums.

The same kind of applies for beating GS in general. Slow the game down into a grind it out half court game as much as possible . TT and Klove need to flex some muscle inside and do not try to spread the floor and get into a shootout .

We can beat this soft ass team if we do it right

This has been my biggest problem with this team. They seem to shy away from physicality, though they have the bodies to beat people up. What you say is true and I think could be a huge detriment to the warriors game plan.if we make that our game plan. None of these guys like to be knocked around. They are all cream puffs who can shoot. I include Green with that too because he's nothing more than a cheap shot artist. Need to go through picks and screens instead of under, screen for our guys hard. Make them run around pin downs only to run full speed into a screen. Run the 2 man pindown with love/korver and have Nance or TT waiting with a screen. As bad as things were before the trade, I think we will miss guys like Crowder, Wade and Frye this series.

I hope not. I didn't like it when he said that in the Boston series.. we can't afford to just give them a game, even game 1 on the road.. we have to make them earn everything..

This is the 4th time we've played this team in the finals, the second time we've played them with KD.. we've played them in the regular season.. we can't give away a game just to have some film on what we should do next..

Shooting is always streaky.

Defense does not have to be.

If the Cavs play consistent aggressive defense and I mean in your shorts aggressive it will give them a chance.

Warriors are a three point movement offense. The Cavs have to contest every shot.

Their attitude and playing personality will tell if they are to win.
