Sad to hear.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

There was so much excitement for Browns fans in 1999.

After 3 miserable years of no football.

Here in CT, 3 seasons of listening to Patriots, Giants and Jets fans talk excitedly about their teams every week from Labor Day to New Year’s Day (and sometimes beyond).

Those were long Septembers, Octobers, Novembers & Decembers. The worst months of my life.

Fall is so boring when you don’t have a game to get excited about every week.

But at last, the Browns were returning and Dwight Clark, a proven winner, agreed to take over as the Browns’ new general manager.

We all thought the Browns would surely soon be in a Superbowl. The most cynical predicted 5 years.

But Clark only lasted 3 seasons as the Browns’ GM.

Ironically, the Browns played their only post season game of the next 18 years the year after Clark left (2002).

If things had been different, Clark might have died a Brown. With a few more Superbowl rings.

There was a really nice article in either ESPN the mag, or Sports illustrated - just a week or 2 ago, about Clark. It was about a reunion of players, and team personnel a while back.

Here it is, SI: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/05/03/dwight-clark-als-49ers-reunion-eddie-debartolo
