How many TO's did we call because the play clock was about to expire w/a rookie qb who didn't even use a snap count in college?
See, this is another example of people reaching to criticize Hue unfairly.

See, this is another example of people reaching to criticize Hue unfairly. It was not a "reach", and certainly not unfair. Under the circumstances that you noted in your post, why wouldn't Hue make adjustments to help Kizer?

I'm not going to argue w/you. I do think it was a huge reach and completely unfair. You don't.
We disagree and that's fine.
Btw--------you did not link how many TOs we called because the play clock was expiring. If you are going to claim it was such a huge number, could you at least provide proof? And do you not think that having Kizer as our qb-------a guy who didn't have a snap count in college--------might have had something to do w/us not getting plays off quickly?
Pffftttt...........give me a break.

I'm not going to argue w/you. No argument was implied; simply a discussion based on observation...

Huge? Where in the post did I make such an outrageous claim? It was more than a few however. And your last comment stresses what started as a civil conversation...

Think about it, why would you hire a coordinator and want him to learn a new system? I think it is pretty important that the coordinator knows the system inside and out, you know, for continuity's sake. Agreed, I think the Coordinator should run his own system. Yup. The HC should hire a coordinator that he agrees with philosophically, but then the coordinator should be left to run things on his own.... that's the whole reason you have coordinators, to share the workload so that the HC doesn't have to get bogged down in the details. Agreed. I understand that Haley's play call "terminology" is less complex than Hue's, and with a veteran QB I expect much less need to call timeouts before the play clock expires... Yeah both statements are excellent points. Haley's "easier" system operated by a veteran QB who knows the ropes and can spit the play out in the huddle with no problem...

Okay, it stresses the conversation because quite frankly, I am sick of you and others constantly bashing Hue.
Deal w/it.

ok here we go. Hue has been the worst HC in football the last 2 years, thats on record as in the worst damn record in the history of football over a 2 year stretch.
Now with that said, Hue needs receivers and an accrate mid to deep passer to have success. He thought he had that in Kizer but Kizer threw as many tds to the opponent as he did to the Browns. His receivers were the worst in the league.
Despite the 1-31 record this team didnt quit on Hue, they showed up each week fought hard and lost late and the problem is when u are short on talent any coaching mistake becomes magnified. Beli makes a lot of mistakes but when u have Brady to bail your ass out, no one remembers them.
I would have fired Hue for refusing to stick to the run but folks this is the most talent he has had by far and he has a QB coach he trusts and a guy in Todd Haley that works the best mid range passing attack out there.
For 2 years Hue was setup to lose. He is now set up to win. He loses he will be gone, he wins and he becomes legend.
Now as for which is better, the D is better. We have one of the better front seven's in the league and our secondary should be pretty damn good. I love the talent on defense.
O we have a lot of shiny pieces and we should have a Run game that is feared and we have weapons but QB is unsettled. I dont see Tyrod as a guy thats gonna work well with Todd Haley because Haley cant stand plays left on the field its why he has had on screen blowups with QBs. When the coaches watch practice tape and see open receivers with Tyrod checking it down, things will change. So let the battle begin.
I think Baker starts and we will go heavy on the run game and lean on the defense.
for now at least, the D is way ahead of the O.

The only thing that is obvious is your irrational hatred and bias against Hue. Give it a freaking rest.

Uncalled for? Your bias against Hue is off the charts. It is most certainly called for.

Hue has been the worst HC in football the last 2 years, thats on record as in the worst damn record in the history of football over a 2 year stretch.
Personally I think Hue has had the worst team to coach as in overall situation of experience and lack of key talent. Could have won several more games. But if you think our record is more indicative of the Coaching skills of Hue Jackson rather than the talent level of the "TEAM" I think you are gravely mistaken. PERFECT? No it was easy to make what appeared to be mistakes.
But a team that went 1-31 was kept together and jumping ship was left to a minimum which in this day and age of NFL coaching is very significant in the leadership that we do have!
Everything is falling in place. NEW GM to get the job done as in completed. The right amount of veteran leadership added. The make up of the team especially the QB room. Hue getting his DC in place and now the right guy was available for the O.
He can add his knowledge and experience to Defense as well as Offense in game planning and any thing that shows up on the tape to assist and make our Coordinators even better.
Oh and the proper Special teams coordinator so that we got our Trilogy of Coaches in place. Continuity will actually mean something now. You wish to build on Good not just continue to be mediocre!
jmho
