honestly, our best shot at a rebuild will be to get lucky and draft a star player at #8 (Sexton, Young, etc) .. trade Love for another few picks/expiring contracts and do it again
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
I wouldn't want Irving back. It's not even about what happened in the past; it's more that it wouldn't make sense to start a rebuild with a disgruntled vet with 1 year left on his contract.
I'd want a package built around Tatum. Celtics would laugh and say, get the heck outta here.
They'd counter with a package built around Rosier or Smart, and we'd say nah... not worth our time or the P.R. hit.
Compromise on Jaylen Brown and a couple picks, maybe take back some salary or whatever. Hard to say, but I don't think Lebron to the Celtics is in the works.
Lebron to the Celts doesn't make sense unless he's down with playing for a MLE, or the Celtics are willing to part with a number of assets to make a trade worth the Cavs time.
Not to mention that Boston sucks in every sense of the word. No one wants to go to Boston; even Kyrie is rumored to want to move to the Knicks next year.

Yeah, he gave some cryptic response about letting the future play out, when asked about staying in Boston after 2019. Who knows, that could him just using the Boston media to push for a contract extension.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”

NY Daily News just tweeted out a little bit ago that Kyrie Irving has said he will not be signing an extension with the Celtics.

Then again, the NY media will say anything to get their media market into a frenzy. They're almost as bad as the LA market, which has had every major free agent signing there since Dwight Howard in 2012.
Actually, just read the full story. He said he won't be signing an extension *this summer*, which would make sense, since he would stand to make a lot more signing an extension next summer.

If Kyrie were to sign an extension this season he'd be leaving 60 million on the table.
I guess lebron going to let cavs know tomorrow. That doesn’t bode well
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne

Yup, sounds like he doesn't want to drag the organization and fans through all the FA muck.
People will be mad, but I think it's the right way to go about it if you don't want to return.
Also allows the Cavs to use the draft pick with the idea of a full blown rebuild in mind, instead of trying to draft some role player that could help Lebron in 2019. Instead they can pick the best player, who may or may not need a few seasons to develop.
It was fun while it lasted, but I wish the guy best of luck. For those that are angry, don't forget about 6/19/16

I'd be very shocked if he stays really. Just don't make a spectacle about leaving and I'm truly all okay with it. Brought a championship but no reason to think another is coming with the likes that we have on the team and we don't have the abilities to make many moves that we likely need to make.
Not even the best player in the world could get us on the level close to Golden State.
With no LBJ and if Lue is still coach, gosh I guess Cavs basketball becomes a thing "you watch when nothing is on, but you need to watch something" ordeals.
However, it seems like he would have needed some time to meet with other teams before deciding to leave. I guess he could have had a deal in place already. But it seems awfully quick.
I think it’s more to let them know he’s opting out and going elsewhere and he knows it won’t be here

Never know, It could be just to put the whole thing to rest and he tells us he’s staying so they can get to work on next season.
Here’s to hoping...
That's what I'm hoping.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.
That would be ideal. Well before draft and FA so they can go to work knowing lebron is here

Is he actually going to let them know or is he going to give an ambiguous answer like, "I'm going to test FA."? I mean, he can't announce WHERE he's going yet can he, FA hasn't started yet.. If he comes right out and says he's leaving, about 6 NBA cities will go into complete frenzy and about 4 others will be unrealistically optimistic.
Why didn't the coach call timeout at the end of game 1, after the rebound?
well, probably because JR had the ball in the lane, with the defense scattered and disorganized; typically, coaches will let it ride there. I mean, you gotta assume your player KNOWS THE SCORE

Not when he's sprinting to the 3 point line. Let's be real, Lue probably didn't know the score either.

I agree but he still did have KD between him and the basket IIRC... but as soon as he started to dribble out everybody panicked, including LeBron.. instead of somebody having the wherewithal to call time out, they all started yelling at JR, some just stood in disbelief... epic fail on many levels..
We weren't going to win the series, but if we win that game, I believe we win another in Cleveland and it goes to a much more respectable 6 games.

Or, he is saying that this early so the team can start fielding offers for 8th pick, and get some moves done.....
we can't trade the 8th pick since we already traded ours..any trade for that pick will be done on draft night after we make the pick. Cowherd said he's heard from his sources that lebron has narrowed it to two teams already.. Cleveland and LAL. I hope so, because that would mean cleveland.. I cant believe lebron would play anywhere Lavar Ball is. Could you imagine that crap storm if they didn't win

If he goes to LA he gets what he deserves. That nutty Ball family thinks they ALL should be there or none should be there. They STILL ain't getting by probably Houston or GS LeBron or no.
I'll just say I'll be extremely disappointed in the Spurs if they trade Kawhi Leonard and take on Luol Deng's contract for nothing more than Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball. And here we thought the Cavs got robbed for Kyrie.
