Update on Kluber: he's not injured, removal from game was manager's decision. Now 6-1, Twins. Yippee.

Kluber sucks.

What the Tribe needs to do is bring back Gabe Paul (ok, from the grave) and trade Kluber to the Yankees.

If we ask real nice, the Yankees might give the Indians two (yes 2!) 38 year-old, minor league journeymen relief pitchers.

Then we'd be all set.

Nah, not good enough. I only do this deal if they can perform a cross-town swap on the front end and include Keith Hernandez in the deal.

Carrasco gets drilled by a line drive near the elbow of his pitching arm, leaves game. Waiting to hear extent of the injury, with fingers crossed that its just a bruise.

The Indians will recall 28-year-old right hander Evan Marshall from Triple-A Columbus.

This is a tough one for me .. I have watched this guys pitch's on game day tracker , and IF he throws a strike it is right down Broadway ! Can't believe we don't have a better prospect than him down there some where ???

it'd be nice to beat minnesota

Anybody go see Travis Hatner last night? He was signed to a 1-day contract to DH for the Crushers I think. We were up in North Ridgeville and would have liked to have gone.

Shane Bieber gives up very few walks. His walks per inning pitched and walks per strike-out ratios are very good..

But then again, so is Josh Tomlin's.

Him and Plutko need to step up when we let Kluber and Carlos walk atskme point. We'll be on the decline soon enough.

Beiber pitched a nice game today.

How do you get that? We have Kluber under contract through 2021, (club option) and Carrasco through 2020. (with 2 team option years, at only $9 and $9.5 million)

Our rotation is on great shape for several years to come. We have real talent in the Minors behind them. I don't see issues there.

Rzepczynski was a solid bullpen guy for us a few years ago. It would be nice to get him going, and add him to our bullpen. A 2nd 'pen lefty would be very useful.

Francona: All tests on Carrasco’s right elbow came back negative for any structural damage. Treatment next three days. Re-evaluated Wednesday.

If I lived and worked in Cleveland right now, the odds would be good this would be one of my vacation days.

1:10 pm start at Progressive Field.

Kluber starts.

Kluber has won his last 72 starts when he received 4 or more runs support.

No links but hearing the Tribe is after Manny Machado. Move Ramirez to second and Machado at third which leaves Kipnis out. Interesting. We need a push this year! Get some pen help too.

MLB trade rumors: Even at 39, Adrian Beltre draws contenders' interest

By Bob Hille Omnisport

Updated at 2:48 p.m. ET

Even at 39, Adrian Beltre has caught the eyes of contenders needing help at third base, according to MLB.com.

"He's batting .302 and is revered for his clubhouse influence. At least some within the Indians organization would like to acquire Beltre, particularly given his history playing for Cleveland manager Terry Francona during his one season in Boston.

"The Phillies also have interest in Beltre, sources say, as much for his professionalism as his production. The Phils have the youngest group of position players in the Majors, and team officials see long-term value in Beltre's influence on an emerging core. Plus, the recent injury to J.P. Crawford has opened up more at-bats on the infield."

From his perspective, Beltre, who is in the final year of his contract with the struggling Rangers, has yet to win a championship in a Hall of Fame career, so he might be willing to waive his full no-trade clause to at least get a (last?) shot at the postseason.

There is an injury history suitors must consider. Beltre played in only 94 games last season and has missed 31 of 76 Rangers games this season.

He's among a handful of options teams looking at third base can consider, each with varying risks: Manny Machado, Josh Donaldson, Mike Moustakas and Matt Duffy.

Beltre just feels more like an Indians' type of mid-season move than Machado. Machado will cost your top two or three prospects (Mejia, McKenzie, Bradley?) for a half-season rental. He might also rocket you to a WS win, which would make it worth it, IMO. But if he doesn't, he's gone at the end of the season and you get to watch your best 2-3 prospects in Orioles' uniforms for the next 10 years. Beltre, on the other hand, is probably close to the end of his career, but he did hit 30+ HRs with 90+ RBIs as recently as 2016, and he is still hitting over .300 this year.

Beltre has a real nice strike-out-to-walk ratio. It got better with age.

40 is the new 30.

I can't wait to watch Shane Bieber pitch tonight.

The Tribe is a huge favorite. (-200)

(huge favorite by baseball standards - if the greatest professional team in history played the worst professional team in history, the underdawg would still have a decent chance of winning (like maybe 1 out of 4))(unlike football or even basketball) That's because a single player (the pitcher) can have a huge impact on the game.

I think a -200 is a 2/3 (66%) chance of winning.

Beiber has a great outing, the Indians win 10-0, and no one says a word?

I'll blame the rain delay. wink

Indeed it was an outstanding outing by Bieber. Would have been great to see him get 10 Ks. I believe Underwood said he's one of few Indians starters to have at least 6 Ks in each of his first three starts.

Alonso's grand slam essentially ended the game.

Jose walked four times, including an IBB.

Heck of a play by Lindor to rob V. Martinez of a hit up the middle and Kip to turn the double play to get Bieber out of a jam.

I got reamed by ESPN+/MLB.com last night.

At game time I couldn't bring up any game. After an hour of trying everything, I called ESPN+ tech support and got an idiot who had no clue what he was doing.

"Yes, I see here that you're properly signed-up, but I'm not sure how to fix it so you can watch the game."

"Uhhh...so no baseball?"

Hopefully, it was just an idiot and this afternoon I'll get someone who can help me.

I paid ~ $100 to watch the rest of the season.

I would have really loved watching Bieber pitch last night.

10-0? That's a good sign.
