You've all asked me several times about the kids in Chicago and where is the outrage; these kids are bringing recognition to that and since they are lefty actors paid for by hillary and Soros you can say they are Dems.

They've chosen to do this of their own volition. That makes them willing participants in the political process. 4 year-olds do not have such agency.
Cheap, disingenuous use of apples and oranges.
Busted. You make this so easy.
next?

Yes yesterday you said it was for using kids for political gain now you're OK with it.

Yep, I wouldn't want you to acknowledge that these kids are fighting to save the lives of all our children. Laura and the NRA are way more important than kids lives...
The only thing they are fight for is the removal of freedom and an out right ban on private ownership of any firearms....none of their feel good fire-brand rhetoric will do anything if it is not accompanied by a complete bannishment of private ownership of firearms.

imagine being proud to support Oliver North. These people would be disgusting, if I didn't think they were just misguided.

By misguided, did you mean dropped on their heads as infants?
Yes yesterday you said it was for using kids for political gain now you're OK with it.
Only the deplorable would compare separating children from families with these young adults who want to change their lives with their 1st amendment rights of peaceful political activism.
Good job!

Well they care about children. Unless it's children Trump tells them not to care about. Then all bets are off. Or unless those children get free meals at school. Or unless those children get food stamps. You know, they care about some children.

how slippery was that slope?
We already have gun laws on the books, and you and I can still walk in and buy guns. I have several times in fact (not sure if you're a gun owner, just letting you know I am). The NFA or the F86 did not lead to outright bans on all guns.
Smart legislation isn't banning all guns anyway. Smart legislation is to stop treating gun owners as hippies who want anarchy when it comes to gun legislation. I need a license to drive, an ID to vote, training to operate anything dangerous at a job site, you name it. Why do we do all of that, but then offer absolutely no safety/training requirements before one can buy an AR-15?

I have said many times on this board I am in favor of people having to pass and take training to get a CARRY PERMIT.

Driving, operating machinery on a job site, all that stuff is a privilege, not a right in the constitution. The right to vote is, and you have to show an ID to vote (in some cases), but when you buy a gun you have to show ID as well as go through a background check, etc.
Conservatives: "Did you see where that illegal immigrant raped and killed all those people? We need to get them all out!!!"
Also Conservatives: "Whoa, whoa... just because this one dude walked into a school with an AR-15 and shot a bunch of people doesn't mean all gun owners and AR-15s are evil."

Carry permit != purchase. I never had to take training for my AR-15 (or any of my guns) because I don't have a carry permit.

Rights are not unlimited. You can't yell fire in a crowded theatre, because we recognize in some instances it's better to infringe your freedom of speech in the interest of public safety. What's your next reason for doing nothing to keep guns out of the hands of lunatics?

I understand that. But again, as a constitutional right to bear arms, I don't feel you should need a permit for purchase. If you want to carry (open or concealed), I feel you should. Its JMO, we are allowed to disagree.

They are unlimited until you infringe on someone else's. Yelling Fire in a theater is not a great example, as that causes panic. Me purchasing a gun for my home protection, or protection of myself and family, does not infringe on anyone else's rights.

Wow, vitriol hatred much? Well, first I would like to get rid of the laws that the left has setup that prevents medical records of mental patients from being shared with other agencies for use in background checks. Most of the recent shootings may have been prevented if that information was shared. I also would like for FBI, local Sherrifs, etc. to be held accountable when they fail to act on the law, and take these weapons away when their is a history of complaints, instead of doing nothing like they did in FL with that Cruz kid. Can we start there? Or do you just want to start on placing laws against the people that abide them to begin with, that will more than likely not do much. . . . ?

Key word is illegal. ar-15 is not illegal to own. but the people that have been using them are not even supposed to have them obtaining the illegally. shooting people is illegal period. plus illegal immigrant. ILLEGAL. come into the country the proper way, channels and your not going to get a get this person out of here.
so own it and get/buy it legally and use it legally. not a problem. that is our right.
I'm very much in agreement with a strong immigration policy. That's really not my issue here. I'm simply pointing out the examples of how intently people wish to point out every incident with crimes of illegals to sensationalize their views.
The fact that people are breaking our immigration laws is enough to get them deported. It's enough to justify strengthening our borders. Trying to sensationalize the issue is an attempt to paint a broad brush on illegals which is far from accurate.
Most of them come here to get work to provide a better life for their family. But those who use these outlier examples never seem to mention that. They'd much rather post the worst they can find and ignore that if business wasn't hiring illegals, the vast majority of them would never come here.

No I can't. It's why I simply can't align with either party. I do think you can stop acting as though the main reason illegals are coming here is to join MS-13 and commit both murder and rape though.
I also think you can't have open arms to illegals on one hand and then complain wages aren't rising on the other hand.

Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms. Miller’s holding that the sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time” finds support in the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons.

Oh please. That didn't give you the vapors.
This isn't my first time talking about guns and honestly I tend to get the same responses so I just try to head some of that off, so we can get to meat and potatoes.

Do you have more to share on this? The only recent regulation I'm aware of was the Obama mental health regulation, which Trump rolled back.

As I've stated several times, I am a gun owner. So no, I'm not of the lock and barrel "ban all guns" group. My biggest complaint with the laws as constructed however is the same complaint as I have to your suggestions: they are reactive, not proactive. We should be working to prevent the Cruz kid from getting a gun in the first place, not taking it away before something bad happens. Often times, something bad happens and it's too late. Massachusetts has a very good system involving an interview with your local police chief before you can get a gun. It keeps the system local and makes you submit yourself to authorities before buying a gun. It also allows the police to deny gun ownership to people who get rung up alot for domestic violence but don't get charged. We should make the act of owning a gun a responsibility, because it is serious equipment that is deadly in the wrong hands.
I do think you can stop acting as though the main reason illegals are coming here is to join MS-13
It's not the main reason, but it is a reason.. how many come here to find work but end up joining because the money is better? How many gang members are we willing to accept per illegal immigrant? 1 in 10? 1 in 25? 1 in 100?

I guess since the total number of MS-13 gang members are generally reported at 10,000 and there's over 12,000,000 illegal immigrants reported, the math is pretty easy to do on that one. lol
I'm not willing to "accept" any gang members. But when you look at the numbers above, it's only obvious to see that this administration focuses on the gangs and crime of immigration for shock value and ignores the biggest reason illegal immigrants are coming here. Jobs.

Sounds good in theory, until that police chief denies you because you slept with his sister in HS, or you are black, or brown, or gay, etc. . . .
Also, in Allegheny County, were I obtained my first CCP license, there are over a million people. That would be 10's if not hundreds of thousands of permits to interview as the Sherriff's department is in charge of handling that. Might work for small towns, not large metro areas....
I think testing to gain a permit to carry should be mandatory every 5 years.
I think mental health evals should be part of that testing.
Mandatory background checks on all gun purchases seems like common sense to me.
I don't support bans on most weapons though. One of the main reason we have the right to bear arms is to have a large citizen militia that can rise at a moments notice to defend our country. That is a state level militia and NOT the national guard.
IF we want the kids safe then better school design where you limit who can get on campus and guards to protect that entrance is what is really needed.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

I'm not a ban guns guy either. I think this is a good starting point. I just think we need to look hard at this issue and find a way to limit these senseless deaths of children.
Testing??? Describe the testing procedure??? I have never had any formal training with pistol shooting. Took it up 2 years ago on my own (shot maybe 1500 rounds in 2 years). After a year I was asked to try my hand at the qualification procedure used to qualify police in my state...shot expert on my first attempt....I woukd be ashamed of any office that could not score expert after I shot it...what did this test/qualification prove??? Absolutely nothing IMO.
I can only imagine the outrage that would take place if at drivers license renewal everyone had to take a driving test.....I mean heck more people die in car wrecks annually then by gun fire...and thatvis including suicides by gun.
