Honestly Pit, I can't keep track of how every poster thinks all of the time. Opinions change, and even if they didn't, I wish I could dedicate the amount of time it would take to remember everyone's stance on everything.

But we have a little pot and kettle thing going here. You are accusing me of the same things you are doing to me. If you read what I've said over the past several weeks, I am in full support of Frye. You said I indicated he wouldn't get better, but that's flat out false. I just don' think he's the long-term answer.

You know, I tried to calm things down with my last post by attempting to be more civil. It's really hard to determine tone on a message board. Things like all CAPS and graemlins really help to convey tone, and I thought I was giving us both an out to get this back to a civil debate. But my perceived tone of your last post makes me think it didn't work.

You are putting words and thoughts into my mouth that aren't true or were never spoken or typed by me. You are taking great leaps with what I am saying and turning it into something different...then passing it off as my opinion. My opinion is very simple:

I don't think Frye is the long-term answer.

I don't think Savage and Co. think Frye is the long-term answer.

I would like Frye to be our starting qb at the beginning of the season.

I can't make it any more simple than that.

As for the 'signs', I am a big believer in the 'eye' test. I judge a situation by what I see with my own two eyes - not necessarily stats. I've watched every single game Frye has ever played at the pro level. I've also been watching football for over 20 years. I don't think Frye has it in him to be the type of quarterback to take us all the way.

Daman, you used to have a sig that read something to the effect 'I think people post to just hear themselves type'.

Kind of odd that the person who it describes best would have it as their sig.

No, expecting the guy who gets paid to make the tough decisions to make them is no big deal at all.

So deciding who plays the FIRST SERIES instead of the 2nd SERIES in the ALL IMPORTANT first PRE-SEASON GAME is now a TOUGH DECISION???? *LOL* ..

man .. I hope he isn't as indecisive with other TOUGH DECISIONS like what hotel to stay at and the route to take to the stadium and the pre game meal ..

Peenie .... no need for me sell my point .. everytime u post u sell it for me ...

It's part of a coaches job to weigh and make roster decisions Diam. It's that simple. Not rocket science. In games,pre-season,roster cuts and all phases of the game.Even in OTA's and practices. These are his decisions to weigh out and make. Not make a public spectacle out of them.

He avoided doing that. I think it was demaning to both QB's and certainly didn't help their confidence or their play. Instead of helping the situation,he complicated it unnecassarily by refusing to make a coaching decision.

Now if you disagree with that, that's fine. But there's no need to try to trivialise it like there's no basis for that point of view.

BTW- Diam. It's others who have seemed to make it "sound like a tough decision". So I'm not going to debate that point with them.

IMO-It was a VERY basic decision for a coach to make without turning into a three ring circus and a coin toss. At that point,a simple decision was made utterly ridiculous.

You may disagree, but it's not that hard to see how it could easily be seen that way by some.

You are correct. And the people that disagree with you are correct. I happen to think it was no big deal whatsoever. You happen to think it was.

I will respect your opinion, and you should respect opinions that differ with yours. You call diam out for "trivializing" it, yet you continue to make it out as though Crennel shot Pres. Kennedy.

Can't this just be dropped?

Well then let's just agree that we had a communication problem on the subject matter and let it go at that, shall we?

I thught your questions were vague. I thought you were indicating that Frye wasn't even worthy of a roster spot.

You thought I was indicating that I thought he was "franchise QB" material.

From where I'm sitting,we were both mistaken in what we percieved the other party to be indicating.

So what do you think about that?

I think Quinn will get better. Don't blame him but blame his agent for keeping him out of camp.

Oh my..U got people busting a gut about a coin flip...which I find amusing..they alternate series..then U got Mensa posting stats from preseaon game...

We all know Frye is the temporary starter but somethign Rac said made think he knows what he's doing..he wanted to see how both would respond not knowing who would start...thats WHAT HE WANTED TO SEE...
the rest of U sound like Napoleon Dynamite ..hahaha..

If the competition between Frye and Anderson was REALLY a competition, RAC would have made them play a best 2 out of 3 Rock/Scissors/Paper match.

I've seen some ridiculous statements in support of Rome's coin flip strategy but this has to be the dumbest. You cannot possibly think that a guy with his job is on the line this year wants people to think he's a goof, can you? Please tell me YOU were kidding.

*you're not Romeo are you?*

Listening to some of you getting all emotional and irrational regarding Frye/Anderson is dumber than anything I could ever say...

I said I didn't care and I don't ..U got a backup starting and a guy who's going to get cut alternating series..thats WHAT ACTUALLY happened..
In Rac's mind he didn't actually care who started..he knows what the bottomline is anyway..goodbye Mr.Anderson..

Yeah, that he'll be fired if we start 0-6. So why he trash his QB's in front of the team like that. Is he hoping for his team to not care like he does? Is he hoping his team tanks the season so he can get fired?

Who should start at LB, Davis or Williams? I'll flip a coin.

For somebody who "knows what the bottom line is" he sure "Botched it up".

Let's see,he knows the bottom line yet..................

He couldn't make the decision
Let the coin toss decide for him
Made that puiblic for media fodder
Said the competition was "neck and neck"
SO close in fact that "it was a toss up"

Oh yeah,he knew the bottom line all-right.

Pit what DID HE BOTCH UP????

Tell me what that did to either QB?
Anderson LOOKED EXACTLY like he does..he's CRAP..
Frye looked like the Frye I saw last year..with slight improvement..
So tell me what the mess about the coin flip, ACTUALLY show on the field..
Usually you give something of substance about what you don't like..but show me something where it affected the play on the field.
If he had said Frye starts..would it have made them play any freaking different IN THE FIRST PRESEASON GAME???

You know ATTACK,there's a thread in the Looking Back forum dedicated to this very subject. I've explained in specific detail all of the points on this issue.

With all due respect,it was something that happenned last week. And I would like to contain this discussion to that thread. There are lengthy posts that discuss this topic in great detail.

If you really would like to know my sentiments "in detail" on this topic, please give it a look and we can address it there. I have lots of reasons why I think this was very ameturish and unprofessional. I made a VERY long response to ddub spelling it out.

I'll be glad to address this topic all you would like in that thread. But I don't see the point in doing a "copy and paste" or yet re-hash it on another thread. But let's just say, many of my points have been avoided and nobody actually tried to legitimately address many of them. And I would welcome you to do so.
