Good for Kevin. Are we sure this means he'll be staying in Cleveland though? Didn't we already discuss not being able to trade someone you just signed to an extension?

For six months. We could trade him again at the trade deadline. The biggest worry is that he shows he's a so-so player now, and we're on the hook for a 5-year albatross contract.

I can't get excited for the move, Kevin has been so up and down for me. Not amounting to the $ he's getting.
Cavs will not be a fun team to watch come regular season.

i'm interested to see if he transforms back to a more well-rounded player now That's my thought.. he's only 29 and if he is allowed to do what he does best, he's a very good player.. I also think he will be trade bait every year for the next couple for a team in need. Sad thing is, I really have my heart set on sucking next year for another lottery pick.. hope he doesn't blow that for us.

Even Kyrie couldn’t get us out of the basement alone.

Don’t we have expiring contracts come next offseason? And with kyrie and Boston having a bit of drama, maybe we have the cap to sign him.

I think he's already got it in his mind that he's going to the knicks. Would love to see him come back, but I think that ship sailed. I'm shocked at today's news. I really thought they would do Kevin Love a favor and move him to a contender. It's a nice story, but the Cavs risk being in that awful middle ground, where you're nowhere near the top 2 or 3 teams that realistically can win it all, but you're also well out of the top 3 or 4 lotto picks. The Eastern Conference is still a trash fire. The Cavs as currently structured, are probably a low seeded playoff team. And I get that you don't want a losing culture, and the Cavs proved that even with high picks, you aren't guaranteed a thing. A team of Kyrie, Wiggins, Thompson etc would not have gotten out out of the second round in the east (had Lebron not come back) But you better be damn good with your scouting and drafting. You better hit on a second round pick. You aren't going to win in free agency. Anyone you want to bring in that way you'll overpay. You don't have warm weather or a coast. You're not a huge mega market. They really better be unbelievably good in their scouting department. You absolutely can put a really good team on the floor without tanking, but in Cleveland, it's going to be really hard. Great story though.

Kyrie can go ..............
We have Sexton now. I really like this kid. He's a fierce competitor and I bet he won't miss a ton of games w/injuries and demand to be traded like the prima donna Kyrie.

I would welcome Kyrie back had we not got Sexton, but even if we didn't - not sure he'd want to come back and not sure we'd even have the assets to get him back. Plus, he's always hurt so it doesn't bother me in addition to the above comments if we don't see him ever.
I still am not on board with Kevin. Is he the Cav's face of the franchise now I guess.

I think Love will put up better numbers than he has in Cleveland. Maybe not quite as good as his Minnesota numbers, but they'll be good. He's a talented guy and he took a back seat to LeBron and Kyrie, much like Chris Bosh did in Miami w/LeBron and DWade.
However........and I am just guessing here........I think Sexton is going to be the face of the franchise. I am really high on this kid. He's a big-time competitor. He has some flaws in his game and he has to improve a lot, but I'm telling you guys............I see the heart of a Lion in this kid.

Great part-time work if you can find it. He really did little good the way he left and the way he treated us later.
Not interested in seeing him. Pretty sure Love not be enough. Great contract.

if Sexton (and that's a big if) can become a GOOD guard in the league ... couple that with Love's extension ... and obtain one good wing/stretch type guy in the draft, then we at least are viable

Would anyone be interested in Jimmer Fredette the year after next? He has been playing really well in China and is tearing up the TBT so far.
I think he could be a Korver type player in the NBA.

I think he could be a Korver type player in the NBA. The thing with him is that he's good w/the ball against inferior competition .. he's not as great coming off of screens/spotting up/catch and shoot He has played well and looks improved, maybe worth a long shot

He seems to fit what we're looking for; young and athletic.

Just about right. Kyrie can take his part-time self on down the road. I just don't care for him anymore.

He's talented, but hasn't put it all together. A lack of focus and immaturity have reportedly been his biggest issues.
