This is not going well for you.
But please, don't stop.

We're all for freedom of speech here.

Hint: freedom of speech is not the same as freedom from clapback, princess.

Twitter slammed for 'shadow banning' prominent Republicans

Twitter is taking heat for "shadow banning" certain prominent Republicans, restricting their visibility in search results.

The social media giant came under fire after Republican Party chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, several conservative Republican congressmen, including Rep. Devin Nunes and Andrew Surabian, the spokesman for Donald Trump Jr., failed to appear in Twitter’s auto-populated drop-down search results. The news was first reported by Vice News.

“The notion that social media companies would suppress certain political points of view should concern every American. Twitter owes the public answers to what’s really going on,” tweeted McDaniel.

McDaniel’s account subsequently reappeared in the search results.

I'm against this.
They should have their platform.
How else will they get the ridicule they so richly deserve?

I say let'em talk all they want.

Not a Sessions' fan overall, but he is right on this issue. This thread reminded me of this hearing.

Sorry it's long, but a good watch, IMO.

Yep.. just look at this list of Nazi's and Klan members..
___________________________________________________________

Brown University — Janet Mock
The TV host and transgender-rights activist withdrew from a speaking event after students protested, not because of the content of Mock's speech, but because pro-Israel group Hillel cosponsored the lecture.

University of California at Berkeley — Nicholas Dirks
The chancellor of Berkeley was scheduled to have a public discussion about the value of higher education, but the event was shut down after students chanted and shouted over him. The protesters stated that he wasn't doing enough to help black students suffering hardships on campus and that his salary was too high.

University of Chicago — Anita Alvarez
The Cook County, Illinois, state attorney's speech was interrupted and did not continue because of both student and nonstudent protesters.

Protesters claimed that Alvarez was responsible for "state violence against Black and brown people in the City of Chicago" and failed to charge police officers, according to a press release from Black Lives Matter (BLM) Chicago, The Chicago Maroon reported.

Chicago has a history of extreme mistrust between its African-American community and police enforcement. Most recently, fury over the killing of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald , whom prosecutors claim police shot 16 times, reached Alvarez.

University of Chicago — Bassem Eid
Students advocating for the Palestinian cause interrupted and shut down the political analyst and human-rights advocate's speech at the college. Eid, who is himself Palestinian, made comments that were seen as pro-Israel.

"Do not speak on behalf of the Palestinians again!" a student yelled during the event, The Chicago Maroon reported.

George Washington University — Action Bronson
The college revoked the rapper's invitation to perform due to claims his lyrics are misogynistic and that he has history of public transphobia.

Pressure on social media mounted and a petition to have Bronson removed from the lineup had hundreds of signatures by the time the administration agreed to revoke his invitation to perform.

Trinity College — Action Bronson
Another college did the same due to claims Bronson's lyrics are violent and sexually explicit.

More than 1,300 students signed a petition that stated : "Allowing Action Bronson to perform at Spring Weekend would create a psychologically harmful and drastically unsafe space for women, LGBTQIA+ students, and survivors of sexual assault."

Hampshire College — Emily Wong
The school revoked its request for the physician at Massachusetts General Hospital's to give a commencement speech due to students' claims that she could not "directly address student concerns" regarding racial issues and transphobia.

Instead, Wong was replaced with activist Reina Gossett who was chosen "because her life and work engage the issues that have been raised by students around anti-blackness, transphobia, and sexual violence," the school's press release read, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.

University of Pennsylvania — John Brennan
The director of the CIA had an event substantially disrupted by protesters for his involvement in drone strikes in the Middle East.

After three instances where protesters interrupted and spoke over Brennan, the event ended early.

San Francisco State University — Nir Barkat
A group of pro-Palestine protestors forced the mayor of the City of Jerusalem to end an event early. Instead, he convened with a small group of audience members.

Virginia Tech — Jason Riley
The professor who invited The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) columnist revoked his invitation over concerns of a controversy because he had "written about race issues."

Riley, who is black, also wrote a book in 2014, called " Please Stop Helping Us: How Liberals Make It Harder for Blacks to Succeed ," which received some criticism.

Williams College — John Derbyshire
The writer and journalist was due to speak at Williams, but college president Adam Falk canceled the event, citing writings that some considered to be racist. Derbyshire published a bullet-point list in web publication Taki's Magazine about his thoughts on the black community that included :
(10a) Avoid concentrations of blacks not all known to you personally.
(10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods.
(10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks.

Williams College — Suzanne Venker
The college revoked the author and social critic's lecture due to her criticism of feminism.

Venker, a self-described "anti-feminist," wrote an op-ed for Fox News explaining why women are supposedly having such a hard time finding husbands, called "Why men won't marry you."

Then in addition to those, you find folks like Chelsea Manning who was banned.. a Catholic Priest who wrote a book about the church trying to find ways to build bridges with the gay community was blocked..

Then...

International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde withdrew from Smith College’s commencement ceremony after protests from students over the IMF’s meddling approach to foreign aid.

Condoleezza Rice, tapped to deliver the commencement address at Rutgers University, stepped down after criticism coalesced around her role in the Iraq War

Brandeis University cancelled plans to award American Enterprise Institute fellow Ayaan Hirsi Ali an honorary degree at commencement after students raised concerns about statements she’s made that are critical of Islam.

So your attempt to go after Spencer and Milo is like the right comparing all things socialist to Venezuela.. it's the lowest possible hanging fruit, heck it's like picking the fruit up off the ground...

College campuses have become, counter to what they should be, a place where ideas cannot be freely exchanged and discussed and that anybody who disagrees with me or has ever been associated with anything remotely controversial is unqualified to speak to me...

So let's be clear, it's not just the Ben Shapiros and the Milos of the world that get shot down or shouted down on college campuses.. it's ANYBODY (White/black, gay/straight, male/female, Islamic, Hispanic, etc) who doesn't advocate 100% for what the college snowflakes want... Not all college kids are like this, but enough are that colleges usually cave to their desire to not be traumatized by an opinion that isn't the same as their own....

Student Suspended for Trump Border Wall Shirt to Get $25G and Formal Apology

An Oregon high school student who sued his school district after administrators said he couldn't wear a pro-Trump border wall T-shirt will be given a written apology and $25,000 in a settlement.

Liberty High School senior Addison Barnes,18, was suspended earlier this year after he refused to cover up his “Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co.” shirt.

The shirt -- which also features a 2016 Trump quote: “The wall just got 10 feet taller.” -- was worn by Barnes in his “People and Politics” class on a day where immigration would be discussed.

Barnes sued his school, the Hillsboro School District and Principal Greg Timmons, claiming his First Amendment rights had been violated.

Thanks for posting that.

I have been trying to tell some of my liberal friends that less is more and to fight just causes strategically. I have also asked them to not become what you hate.

Extreme ideologies that refuse to even listen to the voice of others is a problem. I spoke glowingly of college earlier. I loved it because I could hear vigorous discussions on many issues. I enjoyed hearing one side argue it's case and then go to another location on campus and hear the opposing side's argument.

Gaining as much information from all sides helps one formulate a sound conclusion. Removing the voices of those you oppose is short-sighted, ignorant, and counter-productive.

If this shirt caused a disruption in the classroom, or the lesson plan, then the kid should have either changed or be sent home. I get freedom of speech, but kids are in school to learn, and if you are doing something, saying something, or wearing something that takes away from the educational environment, then you should most definitely be suspended...

I just can't believe that something like this went all the way to the court of law....I mean, its a high school, where kids get their first taste of responsibility. Its where a lot of students are trying to figure out what direction they want to go with their life.

And its a place where our educators are tasked with corralling a whole bunch of pubescent teenagers, presenting them with a whole host of opportunities that they can pursue, while also providing them with many of the skills necessary to aid in their pursuits both academically and occupationally. This is really a monumental task.

So, a childs choice of attire, is really the last thing they want to police....but if its disruptive to the classroom, they will ask the child to change it. And they have every right to do that. The kids learning in the class are much more important than little johnnys right to plaster his beliefs, or, more than likely, his parents beliefs, all over the front of his shirt. If the kid changes, the lesson goes on, and there is no story here.

The fact that the kid refused, and was suspended; it should have stopped there, with his parents telling him to stop being a knucklehead and listen to his damn teachers. But to bring lawyers into this, and make the teacher apologize and pay 25k....what kind of lesson does that teach this kid....the wrong lesson, that's the kind......the wrong lesson...

Kids are asked to remove controversial or offensive attire thousands of times daily in US schools.

Skirt too short. Change it.

Top cut too low. Put a sweater or sweatshirt over it.

Marijuana leaf on a t-shirt. See above.

Lid on the head. Take it off.

Trump Sucks T-shirt. Cover it up or put on another shirt.

This reminds me of the church story that Razor posted. Oh, we are being victimized for our beliefs. We are being persecuted for our political views.

You read "fruity racist elderly man" in regards to 40's delusional and child-like devotion and thought it referred to Obama?

Trump used to have wild temper tantrums over Spy Magazine making jokes about the size of his hands. To this day, he still sends Graydon Carter clippings where he circles his hands in gold marker and writes stuff like "See? NOT SMALL!"

Kind of hard to rail against "Sissy Half Men" when you think that dude is the paragon of toughness and manhood.

can the word 'sanctimonious' be inducted into the DT HoF?

Hey, you learned how to use Google, good for you. I remember when you were shouting "can somebody please tell me if Iran and North Korea have nuclear weapons because I could swear they did?", you had mentioned that you were having trouble juggling being employed *and* understanding how to use the world's simplest search engine.

Glad you figured it out.
