-Last Christmas, West surprised Kardashian with shares of Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Adidas and Disney.

Kanye West may be a great performer, but can he also pick high-performing stocks?

It turns out that the rapper may have a future in finance. According to CNBC's analysis, the portfolio that West chose for his wife, entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, outperformed the S&P 500 by more than 40 percent.

I know he's made a fortune and is big in the rap industry, has/is making money in other industries, so I don't doubt his success. However personally I've never seen his 'genius' in his music, I think he's a b-rate singer and I'm not now or have I ever been overly impressed by anything Kanye. There are one or two songs that I really liked, other than that, meh. Just never seen what others see in him.

For that matter, I don't get the hype about his wife's family either. those girls are ok, but I don't see gorgeous when I look at them, not to mention they all seem pretty dysfunctional as people in general. But again, I don't doubt their success or brand marketing.

40 suddenly liking Kanye cracks me up though. I'd bet he's a fan of Kid Rock too.

Also, my (not dislike or contempt) attitude about Kanye is over a decade old, so way before he had his love fest with DJT.

Because it's nowhere near the same. I have no issue with Kanye liking Trump or supporting him. It's the sudden rush of known bigots embracing him as their 'black' friend that makes me think he is just the token black guy in the conservative conversation, and not even all conservatives... just the ones who I know are bigots.

What Kanye has done is fly with the Left, work with the Left, live with the Left but stand as his own Man.

He knows the score, they are Liberal white with all the power and the "I'm with you man", but as he learned when he was late for that fashion show, they didn't say it but he could feel it, "Typical ____"

Same thing when he embraced Trump.

I thought his early stuff was genius....really fresh.....and it didn't take long for others in the industry to take notice. And pretty soon, everyone wanted to work with him...

but ever since he became involved with the KKKlan, its like his life and sanity are in a constant state of flux...He's being branded as a genius, then you hear that he's in a mental hospital.....Its a roller coaster life in the public eye, and he's clinging to whatever privacy he's got left....its absolutely crazy....

Personally, I think to myself, yeah, the Kardashian/Jenner women are gorgeous, business savvy, and queens of social media....But....it seems like they absolutely destroy the men in their lives....Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush, Ray J, Bruce Jenner....Kanye didn't seem nearly as loony until he became involved with Kim.....I don't know what it is, but I would be wary of any involvement in that circle....

He never had a mother in law like Kris Jenner. If you really want to count their wallets, then you have to see how much they invested into Kylie's business.

40 is either a) racist or b) too dim to understand the basics of what constitutes racism, so he sees black people as representational chess pieces.

And to be fair, it's not strictly limited to race with 40. He sees things through a child-lens where costumes and descriptors cast the person. What am I jealous of? I bought Adidas stock when Pharrell got his deal there. Have been buying some here and there since.

Also day trading is dumb. Make a bot. Learn a skill.

Yeah, I love that the idea of trading is some kind of skill.

Anyone can trade, and daytrading is for people with too much time on their hands.

I've done OK for myself, so I don't want to speak for people with limited budgets, but the market is for fiscally conservative index packages. If you're doing more with it than that, you're probably not pursuing a legitimately fulfilling hobby and you should do something else.
