https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/nat...m=.f1abe4747feaTrump administration officials mounted a fierce defense Tuesday of the controversial family separation policy at the border, defending sites as “more like a summer camp” than holding facilities, and arguing that the detention system simply was not set up to facilitate court-ordered reunions easily. “I’m very comfortable with the level of service and protection that is being provided,” top Immigration and Customs Enforcement official Matthew Albence told the Senate Judiciary Committee about the conditions at the “family residential centers,” which he likened to summer camps. He and other administration officials told senators that the government had mechanisms in place to return children to their parents after they were separated, but they had to improvise a new reunification system under orders from a federal judge. Deplorable policies created by deplorable people.

You should stop being so foolish and accept that your vote lead to kidnapping. Obama is gone, and had he actually done this very thing Republicans would have lynched him.

It's telling that the counterargument to these inhumane situations is that two wrongs make a right. I find it incredible that the only defense someone has for this horrible situation is to try and say "well... someone else did it first!!!"
People are arguing like they are six years old and just got caught red handed doing something wrong. What a joke.

I can tell you that the little coverage I can find on Obama starting these detention centers must have happened when I was very sick or I would have railed against them. I'm no Obama fanboy, he was just the best alternative at the time. He way over promised and under delivered.

Now Federal detention centers for illegal immigrants are just private prisons. Obama didn't build either of these things. The Right should love him for relying on so much private industries to detain illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.

If you go to jail and have young children and there is no one to take care of them....Yep they go into the system That system does not include chain link fence cages, concrete floors, lice infestations, caretakers that are not allowed to hug and physically comfort you, and being separated long term (possibly for life) from parents who committed minor offenses. Defending this in anyway is simply repugnant! I always step up for other vets when I see them attacked for anything, but I'm sitting here trying to imagine what kind of soldier you were... I don't think I'd want a guy like you covering my 6 rather in a foxhole or as a shipmate. You don't seem to be the brotherhood type that most vets are, you seem much more parasitic to me.

The law and what's morally correct are two different things. Saying something is right because there is a law is one of the flimsiest defenses one can bring.
I can argue why murder is wrong without saying its wrong because there's a law. Same with theft or arson. You're gonna have to dig deeper to tell us why separating families (permanently in many cases) is a sound position.

You're gonna have to dig deeper to tell us why separating families (permanently in many cases) is a sound position. There are several good reasons: --It's the law and there has never been a bad law passed. Just look at the Grandfather Clause. Greatest and most fair law ever. --Those people are brown. [shiver] --They don't speak our language. --Whites are superior and all other races are inferior. --White people never searched for better opportunities by going to a new land. --These people are hardened criminals. They can't be trusted, by God! Are you convinced now?

Harsh Dude, and I don't believe any of this Liberal BS. And as far as me covering your 6, probably a good idea. I Damn sure would not want you covering mine. I'm still in touch with some of my shipmates are you. You seem like the outcast type to me. Not a lot of fun to be around.

I must have hit a nerve since you replied twice and started each with 'Harsh Dude,'... I am just fine with who I am and have zero issues looking in the mirror. My friends and family, both civilian and military not only like me but accept me for who i am because I don't take crap or talk crap. I simply call em like I see em. Only a fool tolerates other fools and supports their convictions to foolery. Plug in about any other term that you are sensitive to being labeled as and look in the mirror; hopefully the words will ring true at some point. And I have friends and family a plenty that are conservative, but they are not inherently bad humans, racist, or particularly insecure and needy like many Trumpian GOPers I know. So when it comes to you acting in these ways on this board, you should never be surprised when I call you out on it, make my point harshly, then move on... that's what a good shipmate would do.

Remember going to summer camps like this? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morn...m=.8217a6a53065A federal judge on Monday found that U.S. government officials have been giving psychotropic medication to migrant children at a Texas facility without first seeking the consent of their parents or guardians, in violation of state child welfare laws. U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee in Los Angeles ordered the Trump administration to obtain consent or a court order before administering any psychotropic medications to migrant children, except in cases of dire emergencies. She also ordered that the government move all children out of a Texas facility, Shiloh Residential Treatment Center in Manvel, except for children deemed by a licensed professional to pose a “risk of harm” to themselves or others. Staff members at Shiloh admitted to signing off on medications in lieu of a parent, relative or legal guardian, according to Gee’s ruling. Government officials defended this practice, saying they provided these drugs only on “an emergency basis” when a child’s “extreme psychiatric symptoms” became dangerous. If Obama was breaking the law like this he’d be in prison right now.

It’s a proven fact that Trump lies 47% of everything he proclaims. I don’t expect his supporters to do any better than that.

People are arguing like they are six years old and just got caught red handed doing something wrong. What a joke. Once again playing into the leftist partisanship. The guy I don't like it president so I'll just ignore the fact this went entirely dismissed during the past 8 years. Then call people children when they remind you it's been happening. Everyone agrees it's wrong. The blatant ignoring of this issue by the media and leftists during Barracks presidency and the hypocrisy that lies within it is the call out, it's not a defense and it's not trying to say it's right. It is the constant hypocrisy of ardent lefties that is just low hanging fruit to call out.

Also the GOP controlled Congress has nixed every immigration reform bill for nearly a decade.
