seriously, trump supporters....it doesn't raise your eyebrow at all that the story around this keeps changing? yall get that, right? the story keeps changing: https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-admits-son-apos-182100411.htmlDonald Trump has admitted his eldest son’scontroversial 2016 meeting with a Kremlin-linked lawyer was “to get information” on Hillary Clinton – an event Democrats have cited as proof of collusion. Amid reports the president has confided to friends and advisors he is worried that Donald Trump Jr may foul of Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into alleged collision between the Trump campaign and Russia, the president made perhaps his clearest admission yet that the meeting was to get information on his opponent. Initially, Mr Trump and his son said the meeting was about a Russian adoption programme. “Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower,” Mr Trump tweeted on Sunday. “This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics — and it went nowhere.” The meeting on June 9 2016 involved Mr Trump Jr, Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, Paul Manafort, his then campaign manager, Kremlin-linked lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Rinat Akhmetshin, a prominent Russian-American lobbyist, Ike Kaveladze, a business associate of a Moscow-based developer known to the Trump family, and a translator, Anatoli Samochornov. Also present was the British man who organised the meetings Rob Goldstone, a music promoter who worked as a publicist for the well connected Russian singer Emin Agalarov. When news of the meeting was first reported by the New York Times in July 2017, Mr Trump Jr said it was to talk about a stalled Russian adoption programme. Ms Veselnitskaya has worked on behalf of the Russian government to get the US government to lift the Magnitsky Act sanctions, targeting several people close to Vladimir Putin for their alleged role in the murder of Russian lawyer and whistleblower. The sanctions infuriated Mr Putin and he responded by halting the adoption of Russian babies by Americans. But Mr Trump Jr later admitted he had agreed to the meeting after being told Ms Veselnitskaya wanted to offer the Trump campaign dirt on Ms Clinton. An email released showing a conversation between Mr Trump Jr and Mr Goldstone, revealed the president’s eldest son, saying: “If it’s what you say, I love it especially later in the summer.” Mr Trump was asked about the meeting last summer while in France, attending Bastille Day celebrations in Paris with President Emmanuel Macron. Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics - and it went nowhere. I did not know about it! 8:35 AM - Aug 5, 2018 65.2K 68.4K people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy “My son is a wonderful young man. He took a meeting with a Russian lawyer, not a government lawyer, but a Russian lawyer,” he said. “It was a short meeting. It was a meeting that went very, very quickly, very fast.” He added: “I think from a practical standpoint most people would have taken that meeting. Politics isn’t the nicest business in the world, but it’s very standard.” Ms Veselnitskaya has always denied having links to the Kremlin or offering information about Ms Clinton. While many Democrats and experts have suggested the Trump Tower meeting was proof of collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow, the White House and its allies have been working to undermine the credibility of Mr Mueller’s probe. They have also questioned whether collusion itself was a crime. On Sunday, Mr Trump’s personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow continued to press this point, telling ABC News: “The question is what law, statute or rule or regulation has been violated, and nobody has pointed to one.” He added: “I don’t represent Don Jr, but I will tell you I have no knowledge at all of Don Jr being told that he’s a target of any investigation, and I have no knowledge of him being interviewed by the special counsel.” Reuters said legal experts have pointed out several possible criminal charges, including conspiracy against the United States and aiding and abetting a conspiracy. It added that despite Mr Trump’s public Twitter denial, the president has expressed worry that his son may face legal exposure even as he believes he did nothing wrong, according to three people close to the White House familiar with the president’s thinking.

They, Trumps team, seem to forget what they told us as recently as a year ago.
Oh it was just a discussion on Russian Adoption... Nothing to it.
Now it's, we were trying to gather negative info on Clinton..

I would actually give a flying eff or two about this if the entire GrandBaby-gate meeting on the AZ tarmac was taken seriously...the die for future responsible actions (aka cover ups) by our "leaders" was cast.
Outside influence on our government is bad....corruption and protection from the inside is 10X worse.

The story changing is definitely not good news for Trump. Why even lie to begin with, I'd venture that most presidential candidates are searching for dirt on their opponents. People innocently inquiring for information don't need to change their story.

None of this means anything unless Mueller finds a crime in it, then keeps Trump from pardoning Jr., and convinces congress to remove Trump.
Even if impeached in the house, you still need 2/3s of the senate to touch Trump. This means the GOP would have to seriously break ranks and they just aren't showing the intestinal fortitude to go against the far right base.
When I see farmers being devastated by tariffs saying they will support him even if they lose everything 'for the country', congressmen like Nunes and Jordan attaching their careers to Trump, and a base that just doesn't care what he did to get elected... I'm not seeing impeachment or jail time for him or his family.
He will throw others under the bus, no problem. But Jr. will not do time.

Federal election laws prohibit taking anything of value from a foreign government trying to influence our elections. It's something we've been worried about since this country was founded. I think the only non-precedent part is whether or not dirt on clinton would consitute "taking anything of value" but I would have a high confidence that kompromat on your political opponent has incredible value. At the very least, I'd like to hear the reasoning for it not to be.

About as hard as it is for Trump enablers to come up with new “whataboutisms”. You not sticking to the subject of the thread is very telling.

What about those children kidnapped at the border? Where are they? Why haven’t they all been returned to their parents?

Oh man Mueller has these guys by the short ones now. Lol

The story changing is definitely not good news for Trump. Why even lie to begin with, I'd venture that most presidential candidates are searching for dirt on their opponents. People innocently inquiring for information don't need to change their story. The key difference is the possibility that the dirt is coming from a foreign govt. When this story first broke - and we heard news of an alleged Russian 'Spy' arranging a meeting with the Trump campaign after emailing and providing a promise of dirt on Clinton - there was a really great interview I heard with an ex-Reagan campaign manager. I wish I could point to a name, or link .... but the essence of the interview/report was that if there is any uncertainty about where the 'Dirt' comes from on your rival - or if you know that it's from foreign or potentially corrupt sources - then you don't touch it or go near it with a barge pole. The guy who was the campaign chairman or whatever for Reagan relayed a story of receiving a package of material from an unknown source (I don't know if they opened it or if they were told it was coming and didn't open the package) .... and they called in the FBI and handed it over without ever thinking of using whatever was inside the package. I am pretty sure they must have been tipped off that dirt was being sent their way. They wanted to do the ethically correct thing.
So now instead of arguing if Trump knew or didn't know about the meeting and the Russians offering dirt. . . the Narrative has already changed to "It's not a crime" and the impllication that it's perfectly reasonable for any candidate to use any dirt from any source to win an election ....
I'm more and more disgusted with Trump. And I am more and more convinced that he'll get caught in his lies and Twitter will be a corroborating piece of evidence. . . And finally - I am more and more convinced that the morons and stooges in Trump's hard core base will simply say it doesn't matter and will parrot whatever lie Trump comes up with... The question will be what the GOP does. What does Ryan and Gowdy and the others do.

Putin is/was a better leader than Obama ever was. If Trump did collude with Russia to win the White House then someone should thank him because it kept Hillary Clinton out! And in the 2016 post-mortem, they said "talk to the Trump voter." They said: "Suspend your judgement; hear their views" "Give them a chance..." This is what the Deep Deplorables did/do with that chance. It's why I'll talk to/with some Trump voters/supporters and not others. A person who makes a statement like that should just go burn an American flag in their front yard and STFU about football players kneeling during the National Anthem. Not one of those players would ever suck Putin's rectal orifice like this one just did. Not one. This one thinks Putin is preferable to other Americans. This one would be in Putin's jail (or worse) for doing the same thing in Russia. The nice thing about America's 1A? It's an unmasking machine. Give a person freedom of speech that is protected by law, and sooner or later he will reveal his true character through that speech. And that is when they show us all just exactly who- and what they are. Look closely, Dawgs. This one walks among us.

Burning American flags and kneeling for national anthems are Democrats special little past times. Calling Democrats or liberals worse than Putin is accurate. Russia is striving toward democracy. Democrats and liberals are on the fast track to socialism/communism.

Some on the right would side with Putin, who has brutalized Russia, killed journalists, and terrorized so many others.. and they call it "striving toward democracy".. while disparaging other American's whose only real goal is to make America better by providing for the poorest and weakest Americans.. Sure, I get that you might disagree with their plans and their methods.. but siding with Putin over them? That's pretty damn pathetic.

Your the only commie sympathizer I see. How dare you label democrats as something less than american. Did you ever serve in the military? Do you have any sense of patriotism? From what I see you are a stooge caught in the propaganda machine! You hate dems and libs because they EXPOSE who you really are...
