Not sure if anyone is watching the SF v. Denver game but they have been going on for about 5 minutes about what a great mentor Dilfter is and how much he has helped Alex Smith. They talked about all the extra time Dilfer has put in with Smith after practice watching film, etc...

it was quite a deju vu as I remember hearing that about Dilfer when we bought him in....maybe he just wanted to get back to the left coast..

Yeah. He was a great mentor here, once he refused to do the job.

You can thank Maurice Carthon and Romeo for keeping Carthon for that one.

Didn't Dilfer complain to Lerner about Carthon's offensive playbook?

He should still be here, and would be so much better for Charlie/Brady than Dorsey.

Dilfer said that if he couldn't compete for the starting job here, he wanted back to the coast b/c his family is there. Pretty straightforward to me.

I miss Trent. He had moxy, and Charlie can't say enough nice things about him.

I really think part of the reason Charlie didn't progress too much last year was the fact that Trent wasn't on the sidelines.

I think Dorsey isn't all that bad of a mentor even for being kind of young but he definately doesn't have the smarts Dilfer did but he is a pretty smart guy from what i've read.

I wish we would dump Anderson and Dorsey and bring in an experienced vet to help out a little. I think we will dump Anderson but probably not Dorsey.

You're talking about steroids when your very own Ryan Tucker got caught with his hand in the jar? Tsk tsk tsk.

Let's compare, Christy....

Sttelers' all time record 531-511-21....a winning percentage of .499. The Browns 425-374-10 for a winning percentage of .525. The Steelers championships 5, the Browns 4. Hall of fame inductees Pittsburgh 17 Browns 16.

Now, what were you saying again?

Thanks for asking, because I forgot to mention that the Browns haven't won a championship since 1964. They also are one of 6 teams who haven't even done as much as sniff a Lombardi.

Excuse me, but maybe i missed something here Coach. it seems to me that with a record of 531-511 the winning % would be OVER .500. 20 games over to be exact.
Correction please

Must have missed the March 2005 Article in SI, where they show, there were an EQUAL amount (Players per team) using steroids at the time. This after an in depth study.

That said, it would stand to reason that the Browns should have won their share of SB's then right? Gee, do you possibly think we just had much better players at the time? Either that, or we got ours in its Purest form from the football gods. Hmmm

If we add up the Browns AND Steeler players that got busted over the last 30 years are we even close to the Bengals that got busted in the last 18 months

According to the Ravoooon Posters over on Steelers.com, they go 16 & 0, First round Bye, home Field, and are declared as the Greatest NFL team ever.

Course they didn't cover the part where they go ONE & DONE -- again!

In other words they think they will be one game better than the Bengals fans think the Bengals will be, and four games better than the Steelers fans think Pittsburgh will be.

Apparently, you did miss something. You didn't count all the games played. you ignored the ties because it made the Steelers look better. They've played 1063 games and only won 531. Therefore their winning percentage is .499, as I stated. Learn math, please.

Oh, and Christy, your team has only won ONE championship since the 70s and I love how you try to dismiss a championship because the name of the trophy was changed. The Browns were NFL champions, just as the Steelers were. Of course, that's the only thing you can do to try to make it look like a huge difference in the histories. Your distortions aren't reality, Christy.

Dilfer wanted to leave. Good riddance.

He wanted to stay in Cleveland only if he was the starter. He demanded the trade to the bay area, said he would retire if the Browns didn't trade him once he was told he would be a back-up
