It's been fun watching Greg Allen over the last several days. He's making many Tribe fans forget the names Bradley Zimmer and Tyler Naquin.

Not sure if he has ever played at Fenway but he worked Center field like a boss last night.

The bottom half of the Indians line-up is on fire.

How timely.

Lindor and Ramirez are "slumping". (OK not really)

Andrew McCutchen is not in the lineup today. A trade is reportedly being worked on.

Would be nice if Cleveland could get him.

Indians moves:

•DH/1B Edwin Encarnacion activated from 10-day DL
•OF Rajai Davis placed on 10-day DL

Team says Davis is out with a non-baseball medical condition. While no specifics given, have heard that the expectation is that Raj should be ready to return on Sept. 1.

Doesn't say. I'd imagine an NL team claimed him. EVERY team in the NL has a worse record than Cleveland and most are still in the hunt (Atl, Philly, St.L, Mil, Zona, Col & LA).

And it goes by league first (because the Giants put him on waivers). So reverse of NL standings, then reverse of AL standings. That would mean Cleveland is in front of only Boston, the Yankees, Houston, and Oakland.

I never knew that. Learned something new today. Thanks.

I'll guess Philly. I don't know which teams need him, but after the Eagles won, it put a bit more pressure on them. Plus, they're chasing the Braves for the division and they're tied for the wildcard.

Francona: OF Leonys Martin will not play baseball again this season. No setbacks. He’s recovering well, but doctors want him to focus on a return to full health rather than returning to Indians.

Edwin Encarnacion's first plate appearance in 12 days results in a wicked two-run blast beyond the Green Monstah.

I have a 6:30 am minibus ride scheduled to go to Big Y (a New England grocery store chain).

To pick up a pile of perogies.

First for the Indians game at 1 pm. Then The Browns game tonight. (on FOX).

Gotta go.

Later.

Nobody claimed him. He cleared waivers.

The talking heads on CBS.Sportsline said one team is working with the Giants, but they don't know who. They think it's the Phillies, Yankees or Indians.

One year ago today the Indians beat the Red Sox 13-6.

The Tribe won the next game too, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game, and the next game.

On September 15th the Tribe lost to the Kansas City Royals (4-3). (before winning 5 more-in-a-row).

22 wins-in-a-row,

One of the greatest team records in sports history.

Yes, definitely.

It seems obvious to me that Francona is avoiding a repeat of last year's performance. (peaking now)

"Resting" Bauer, playing youngsters.

Hey all the same, the Indians still have been dominating for the past month.

The Tribe was only 54-46 (8 games over .500) a month ago.

The Indians are looking real good right now.

I did not like the Indians uniforms last night.

Jason Kipnis’ uniform:

Dirtbag?

It sure looks like Cody Allen is toast.

I would sit him for a week or 2, and see if that recharges him.

Even as predictably bad as Cody Allen has been this year, I think this is a very possible course of action by Tito.

Hey, Allen has pitched very well the last 4 years (ERA under 3.00 each year, way more strike-outs than innings pitched)

I'm sure Francona has thought deeply about Allen's demise this year.

So far this year, Allen has already given-up the most Earned Runs and Homers for a season in his career.

I'm sure Francona has some solid thoughts on why.

Francona will not let Allen jeopardize the Tribes chances for post season success.

Maybe the 10 day Disabled List? To get his head screwed on straight. (assuming it's a confidence thing)

I assume you're "real question" is why is Kipnis still in the line-up.

Good question.

I'll guess Kipnis' collapse has caught Francona totally off guard.

Kipnis had a great spring training. (2nd in hits, 2nd in homers - both behind Alanso)

It sure looked like Kipnis was headed to a fine 2018 season.

But he started 2018 cold and never had a hot streak.

Now it's painful to watch him bat.

And routine 6-4-3 double plays are like a crap shoot.

(shortstop-to-2nd baseman-to-first)

Or was your question literal?

Bieber did a nice job of working around an error to get out of a jam without giving up a run.

5-2 Tribe going to the 6th.

The uniforms that the Indians wore over the weekend sucked.

They shouldn’t be wearing cutsie, funny phrases on the backs (instead of the players’ names).

Too gaudy. (flaunty).

It’s like making fun of your opponent. (we’re so good we can joke around on the field)

Like , uh.. Like the Harlem Globetrotters.

“Mr. Smiley” went 3 for 15 over the weekend. (,200)

Fine, so they’re getting rid of Chief Wahoo. But don’t have an idiot come up with stupid ideas.

It was a league-wide promo. The marketing geniuses at MLB think the league needs to hype their players more, like the NBA. I think they thought putting nicknames on uni's would give players more "personality". For instance, on Kluber's jersey, the name was "Corey", which just screams "personality" to me. In Los Angeles, the back of Matt Kemp's uni said "Matt". That is so colorful!

CLEVELAND -- Andrew Miller has endured five months of starting and stalling this season in an effort to get fully healthy and primed for an October run with the Indians. The big left-hander encountered another setback on Wednesday.

Prior to the Tribe's game against the Twins, the Indians placed Miller on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Monday) due to an external impingement in his left shoulder. This marks Miller's third trip to the DL this season, following issues with his right knee (May 26) and left hamstring (April 26).
View Full Game Coverage

To replace Miller in the bullpen, Cleveland recalled lefty Tyler Olson from Triple-A Columbus.

Miller was activated from the DL on Aug. 3 after the bout with the knee issue and responded with a 1.86 ERA in 9 2/3 innings across 10 appearances this month. The lefty has not, however, appeared in consecutive games since July 30-31 during a Minor League rehab stint. Miller has not worked in back-to-back games in the Majors since May 22-23, which came three days prior to his previous trip to the DL.

Overall this season, Miller has a 3.38 ERA with 33 strikeouts against 13 walks in 24 innings (27 games).

Francona: Images showed swelling in the bursa sac in Miller's left shoulder. The pitcher received a cortisone shot. Will be shut down for a few days, but doesn't sound like team thinks this is a serious setback.
