“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
if my wife smashed Kenny loggins in his prime...i dunno if i'd even be mad.

free bird (which actually got me out of a speeding ticket one time......i guess it contributed to the speeding.....but then provided such a unique and terrible excuse that the officer let me go with a warning)
I think that Lou Reed is one of those great and influential artists that often gets overlooked or forgotten when ppl start talking about all the legendary artists over the past 50 years....

Definitely. One of my most listened to songs of my life.
That whole album actually. (Rock & Roll Animal)
Did you know Mott the Hoople also did a kickin' cover of Sweet Jane?
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
There's an album by Blackfoot called "Blackfoot Strikes" that not only has the iconic "Highway Song", but also "Train, Train", and a couple kickass covers of two great rock standards; Free's "Wishing Well" and Spirit's "I Got A Line On You". The rest of the album rocks hard too.
It was mine too. And In a good da Vida was my second.
How about "Heard It Through the Grapevine" by Creedence Clearwater Revival off of Cosmos Factory album?
Older fave of mine: Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels: Good Golly Miss Molly/ Devil with the Blue Dress medley. Just cooks. In a moment of honesty, I like these for mowing my lawn. Last that comes to mind is George Thorogood and the Destroyers: "Bad to the Bone." PerfectSpiral, do we get to sing along?
Great topic!

That album is a classic! I got a chance to see them live in their heyday. Ricky Medlock and those Indians could put on a show.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul. - John Muir
I wore out a Mountain "Climbing" cassette back in the day. I loved "Mississippi Queen", but my favorites were "For Yasgur's Farm" and "Theme From An Imaginary Western". Others by Mountain: "Nantucket Sleighride" and "Flowers of Evils". Great band.
California Dreaming... Mamas and the Papas. Remember that song well driving to LA. I was going to LA to compete in the non-Life Masters National Bridge Tournament with my favorite partner. We won, this is back in the Dark Ages in 1992.
Here is another great song about taking a journey across the desert. However, I would suggest that you do not do Horse while driving long distances, or any distance at all--for that matter.
