I will say this. I actually think that the Raiders would want more for Mack than 1st round pick, Ogbah, and Collins. No doubt. As I said before, if we were Raider fans, who in here would be happy with a 1st rounder, Ogbah, and Collins?
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Khalil Mack - DL - Raiders
The 49ers are exploring the possibility of trading for Raiders DE Khalil Mack.
La Canfora also lists the Jets, Bills, Colts, Packers, Browns, and Bears among teams inquiring about Mack. The Raiders are reportedly asking for two first-round picks in return for their perennial All-World holdout, though numerous Oakland beat writers have suggested Mack could be had for a first-round pick and standout player combo. Currently gauging and listening to offers, the Raiders appear to be closer to dealing Mack than paying him.

Do the 49ers have the assets for such a trade? That's a pretty weak roster.
I was wondering if the Jets were involved in this.

This does not take into account his demands ... if he wants to destroy a teams cap structure like Bell does then NEVER ...
For two 1st round picks i’m doing it in a nano second ...
For a 1st rnd pick, Collins and Ogbah im doing it in a heartbeat ...
We have a shot to get a freak thats the closest i’ve ever seen to LT ...
Of course were going to have to overpay for him ... its the nature of the beast .. we have more cap space than anyone .. i’d rather use it on this guy than save it for a few year cause we will HOPEFULLY need it to sign our own .... we oughta be smart enough to structure a deal for Mack that leaves us in fine shape not only to sign our own down the road but to make some damage in next years FA market ...

The mention of us including Collins is a good thing, in my opinion. I think some vastly overrate his performance. I didn't say talent or ability. I said performance. Sashi gave him a pretty large contract and he hasn't performed well enough to earn that money.
I do think he is talented, but he plays w/out passion. He plays as if he is disinterested. I'm not so sure that is the type of vet we want leading our younger guys.

I’d feel a lot better about Collins if we still had Kendricks ... IDIOT ... although i bet Phili would not have let him walk if it wasn’t;t for his legal troubles ... thats a moot point now .. let it go diam ... *L* ... I am with U on Collins ... id feel better about if we still had Kendricks but i’d Still do it ... Collins may be addition by subtraction ... There was a reason Billicheck let a player of his talent walk in the middle of a SB run ... more like traded him to hell ... was he here for our lone victory over the last two years .... *L* ... I was never as high on him as most others ... its a shame ... hes a physical freak that jut don’t wanna apply himself what so ever ... If we do this ... and they stay healthy ... WOW ... Williams might die of excitement if this happend ...

jc: Sources to ESPN: Raiders and Bears have an agreement in place to trade Khalil Mack to Chicago. Still working through it, but Raiders now planning to send Mack to Chicago. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1035869745655029760

If this happens ... It doesnt help us in all our games .... but it certainly may cause many dawgs to go back to the season prediction thread and change the Faider game from an L to a W ... ... More reason to take a 3 hour tour to a great little isle ..

It would have been nice for us, but at least he’s going to the NFC and not the AFC North. I wonder how much the Bears will have to pay him. The Donald contract will be the starting point. Ouch.

Glad we didn't overpay, sometimes par is good enough to win I’d have overpaid. He’s a Pro Bowl stud right in his prime. With our drafting record, trade the picks (said with a bit of sarcasm).

I'll expect similar outrage for this non-trade like the Jimmy G. one.

Supposedly the Bears are giving up two first round picks and more. That’s a very steep price that I don’t know if I’d be willing to pay.

j/c... I would have been happy to give Collins and our first round pick of 2019 for him and that would have been a good deal.
Gruden is shrewed that is for sure. Mack was Not For Long for the Raiders and I think it had gotten passed the point of no return. If they got 2 First round picks and more...God Bless them its a great deal.
I must admit I was sort of salivating to have Ogbah Inside with Larry along with Myles and Avery on the Ends...and have Mack come in on either side as an over load.
But we will be ok without him. Team work will be good. But we will pick up somebody amazing like Mack with the first rounder that we did not trade.
Glad Mack is going to the NFC...is the deal done?

Sheesh ... whats the % of first round picks that hit? ... U guys act like there SURE THINGS and all STUDS ... I dont understand this overpay thing either ... unless u draft good football players your going to OVERPAY FOR THEM weather u re-sign your own or u go then in FA ... its pretty simple ... Bad FA players dont make squat ... OK FA’s get paid market value .. Good FA’s get overpaid ... GREAT FA’S get way overpaid .. Then theres the FREAKS .. IF u don’t draft good football players your going to OVERPAY for them when they sign the INITIAL FA CONTRACT ... Its how it works ...

2 firsts plus other considerations.
Yikes.
Mack is a great player, no doubt about it ... but man, that's a steep price.

Boldest ? Most foolish ? Desperate ? .... You lay out that sort of draft capital you need to win now. Playoffs or say goodbye.

Okay I'm done with the Mack talk because WHEWWWWWWWWWWWW the gossip and rumors are getting thick. People's first borns are soon going to be up for the Mack Auction.
I for one would be okay with Ogbah, Collins and a first but that, IMO, is enough. If that's not enough, thank you for your time and good bye. Not even a 7th round pick more.

I was just going to respond to y-town ... Ya .. two firsts sure is a steep price ... what in the world would we have done w/o any combo of the SHORT LIST u just put up ... pretty sure we’d still be 0 - 16 .. 1 - 15 .. 3 - 13 for a grand total of 4 - 44 either way ... but what do i know ... I dont understand sometimes ... first round picks are just better gambles than all the other rounds ... but there GAMBLES none the less ... Pretty sure Macks not a gamble ... *L* ... I think Chicago stole him and i think its cause GRUDENS A MORON that wants to spend the money and draft picks on O cause he knows zero about D ... But hey ... we’ll have the our shot at potentially good players some where in the first round OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS while Mack is kicking ass and taking names in Chi-town ... ANALYTICS MY ASS ...

The great Ray Ray trades out of the fifth pick (Mack) to go to nine and pick the Gilbur. Then of course comes back and picks Manziel.
Oh well. Move on the way we were.
At this point my concern is OL. Bitonio at LT is ok but not the final solution.
I like Dorsey. I believe he will bring what is necessary.
Mack would have been a great add but time will tell how things work out.
Ready to go for the opener.

Seems as if I'm one of the few who thinks the Browns dodged a bullet here. Not because Mack isn't a generational player, he is.
The compensation was exhorbitant, IMO.
I prefer the Browns to follow a deliberate, year-to-year plan than to reflexively swing for the fences with all financial considerations be damned. We have up and coming players that will have to get second contracts. The Rams did it right with Donald. They managed their cap in anticipation of signing him. They were able to get some other big deals done in advance of his signing too. Suh, Joyner, Talib, Brockers, and Baron to name a few.
