Good stuff Vers. It'll be interesting to see if any of these concepts show up on Sunday.

Thanks guard.

What kills me is that a lot of people say they want to talk football, but the thread dies out when the real football conversation starts.

the routes that should be open vs the Steelers is the sluggo route and pivot.
Calloway is perfect for either route
run Calloway on a slant few times.
occupy the saftey on the wheel route
and tell have him run a sluggo.
sluggo is the best combo route out there.

The pivot route. I like Duke on this too. Maybe more than Callaway. But I like your thinking. Cool example against Pitspuke.

on a 3rd and short if the qb would catch the saftey easing in the box this the sluggo was a automatic route cause id have my qb pump on the slant and who ever was covering would bite and he would simply turn up field
id tell my qb look him on the sluggo or check down to the TE running a pivot.

+1

It would be cool to have a sticky thread (or a few) so that novices (speaking for myself) can refer to them. The first time I read about SAM, MIKE and WILL, I left thinking "what is going on - none of these guys are even on the team".

Thanks for dropping knowledge guys.

LOL.........that's funny. I wanna use that one on some unsuspecting soul.

I like guys who ask questions because they want to learn. I know I ask a ton of questions when I'm trying to learn about something. I admire those who aren't too egotistical to admit they want to learn more.

Good stuff ... Nice tread!
Points of interest/concerns for Game one:

--LG/LT? ... Do we finish with the pair we start the game with? ... Will it solidify itself this week?

My guess is that the writting is on the wall ... Harrison will be our LT going forward, moving Bitonio back to LG ... If not this week ... ASAP.

-->Disclaimer ... This is not an insult to Corbett either. He can offer depth and perhaps transition to OC/OG and free up a roster spot across the OL.

--Depth @DT ... Two waiver claims ... How many snaps can they give us for week one?

--Depth @LB ... Next man up Rookie Genard Avery, and a waiver claim, if Burgess is not a go.

--Denzel Ward ... how will he fare in his first real test?

--Shaking off the rust:

Randall, Gordon, Zeitler, Coley, DeValve, and the aforementioned Avery.

Yup. First time I ever heard it was him repeating it ad nauseum on MNF.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
