Darren Sproles looks exactly the same as he did ten years ago?

You always hear about RB's who are a little bit older, but don't have the wear and tear of the feature back. That argument was good for Sproles 6 or 7 years ago , but he still runs like a killdeer.

Players seem gassed; Trufant had to get an IV. Haven't noticed too many substitutions in base packages. Makes me wonder if players are not used to the intensity of regular season; do you need to give guys a blow more often? Depth then becomes a larger factor. What does that mean for the Browns? We're still hustling to build depth. Makes me think it's another disadvantage against the Stillers.

First facemask that made my neck hurt of the year.

Sproles only 5'6" but keeps those legs churning. Every time I see a back with legs powering through contact, I think of Leroy Hoard.

Front four gets dinged, you gotta know they're gonna try to punch you in the mouth. Yet they come out with 3 down lineman and 5 dbs and get gashed up the gut. must lack depth on Dline?

Replay of the NFC Championship game.

Dang, I thought the Falcons would pull it out. I gave Ryan crap on the floaters, but he hit Jones on the comeback in third and 17. Thrown before receiver made the break, same as earlier with a longer distance to gain. Earlier Darby broke it up, but that time Jones sold the deep route before coming back. He also got sacked twice on the drive, but stood strong in the pocket as coleman picked up a free rusher up the gut as he completed a pass into the redzone. I just don't get the routes in the redzone. There isn't anything different from what lead up to the short field. The D is being groomed to expect a certain thing, so when the field gets smaller and you've been making hay between the twenties switch it up while their leaning.

Atlanta is a choking team.

A few thoughts on the game:

- started too late ... I'm exhausted this morning
- Matt Ryan looked as bad as I've seen him. Like he's lost arm stregth?
- Atlanta's red zone offense is quite bad (and play calling)
- Julio Jones is an incredible talent
- Philly's defense is legit. I'm more encouraged after seeing us hang with them
- Phill's offense is not good without Wentz. Can't complete anything beyond 5 yards
- There had to be 30-35 penalties in that game
- Overall, boring game IMO. But, at least we're off and running.

Oh, and Alex Mack looked good most of the night but had a few huge blunders. Of course, that's going against Fletcher Cox

Thoughts on the game:

--4 Preseason games and you false start on the first play of the game and commit something like 25 penalties.

--One of the sloppiest games I ever witnessed. On any level.

--The refs added to the mess by calling some ticky-tack penalties.

--I took a knee in the 3rd quarter.

The personal foul on Atlanta for sacking Foles was ridiculous. A clean hit, they called it something like using his weight to drive him down. Later in the game, Philly sacked Ryan the exact same way, no foul.

I think Ryan has zombie arm, the throwing dead. Everything looked lofted, no zip on any of his throws.

Watching Jason Peters work is a marvel.


How a man that big, makes those kick steps look so fluid is simply amazing. That dude looks like a 350lb Joe Thomas out there.

It was a blah game for the most part, but the ending was good stuff.
