Ummmm, just checked the weather forecast. 1-2 inches of rain from the remnants of tropical storm Gordon? (Gotta love the irony). If it rains 2 inches on Sunday, it could be first one to 6 wins.

Let's hope we go up 7-0 and the skies open

haha, love this imagery.

I gotta say, I think with Bell out inclement weather only benefits us. When the ground is slippery QB scrambles (Tyrod) can be deadly. We also have the depth and diversity at RB.

Not to mention anything that can slow down Antonio Brown is a good thing for us.

Severe rain and wind expected when Steelers visit Cleveland on Sunday

Thursday night’s lightning delay in Philadelphia won’t be the only severe weather facing the NFL in Week One.

In Cleveland, a torrential downpour and high winds are expected on Sunday afternoon when the Steelers visit the Browns. Cleveland meteorologist Jeff Tanchak said it’s going to be miserable at FirstEnergy Stadium.

“All day Sunday and Sunday night we are looking at continuous heavy rain. Winds will be gusting up to 40 mph at times,” Tanchak said. “I have not seen a worse weather forecast for a Browns game in the almost 16 years I have been here and that includes snow events. I have no idea how they will be able to play football or how people will be able to sit in that stadium and watch a game.”

The NFL has confirmed it is monitoring the weather forecast in Cleveland. If there is lightning in the area, the NFL will delay the game. Heavy rain and wind alone are usually not enough to cause a delay

Cleveland hourly weather:

Right now? It looks like cool weather, rainy and especially windy.

I like Hyde on a day like this. Get after it, Dawgs!

Pressing AB hard at the LOS is a real help if we can do it.

Bard...pressing wrs hard at the LOS when footing might be questionable is not a wise move...unless there is another db protecting deep.

Games played in adverse conditions are many times decided by "a mistake"...such as an unintended slip by db leaving a receiver wide open.

I seriously doubt that Gregg Williams wants to risk giving the Stoolers a cheap td if the footing is questionable...jmho

The rain is one thing but there is no doubt that there will be high wind. 25 mph and gusting higher.

Combine the two and you have a different game. Bad footing and high wind are not conducive to scoring.

Bell not playing. Ben not a running quarterback. Delayed timing in routes. Advantage defense.

This game will test every player and favor mental toughness.

Scoring will be tough. Teams will focus on the run. This will reduce the game to trench warfare. Not sure who this will favor.

I know a lot people favor fast fields protection by dome. Not me. I love weather conditions to be part of the game. It was always to me what made football unique and special.

I come from when there were no domes. Playing the Vikings, GB, the Bears, Browns, Giants was a test of will and manhood.

Let's get it on.

Yah, if the models are correct, the bullseye of the storm runs from Columbus through pittsburgh.

Columbus is supposed to get 3-5 inches, that’s a a crazy number. If you are driving up from Columbus, Id be leaving, like soon.

I wouldn’t want to drive in that.

the real issue might be the entering/exiting the area ... not necessarily the game itself

The weather favors Tyrod over Ben.

Ben is mobile in the pocket but be is not a runner.

Tyrod can juke rushers and run.

This weather will disrupt passing routes and timing.

Trench war. Running and screens. Should be a good game for Duke and Carlos.

Especially Duke. Bad footing will help
backs like Duke.

I think the weather helps our chances at home.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

yeah Jamie was a dominating force in the
middle of the dline. give me a break.
high effort DT but his upside was limited. hes a dime a dozen 4-3 DT.
I heard he got a tryout with Nova Scotia
Pirates with the Canadian Indoor League.

the weather plays to the Browns advantage. Hyde and Chubb can really get their yards tommorrow

I’ve been watching the radar all day, there is a massive blob of moisture approaching cincy right now. There is a chance 2 things are happening, the system is moving quicker than anticpated, and moving wth a slight southern trajectory.

There should be wrap around moisture, but at this point, I don’t think it will be as bad as it could have been. We shall see

I think Chubb will surprise one way or another. Pruitt used to be a mudder. Joy to watch him in lousy weather.

Any of ours good in hostile weather? I expect TT to be unfazed. Duke can go. Njoku? Maybe . . . .Hyde, should be OK.

If the wind is as bad as they are saying TE's are going to play a bigger role, than I would have thought. Also Duke out of the backfield will be interesting

LeRoy Kelly was the "mudder." Ran on his heels, which helped prevent him from sliding and slipping.

I was just reading about the weather, and wouldn't the headlines write themselves if Gordon went off amid the remnants of Gordon? (the storm)

Watched a full day of him in the mud at Muni. Claose to the field where I saw our devastating power sweep just pound the ball. He was amazing to watch.

Like to find our way back to that kind of punishment we used to hand out.

Go, Browns!

I'm not a fan of the wind. It really hurts the passing game, especially since their qb has a much stronger arm than ours.
