I think our defense looks good early

we get pressure on brees, but cant get a sack due to his quick release and smarts.

I think our offense struggles again under Tyrod, as he will still be hesitant to throw the football downfield. Saints will load the box daring him to throw it, and he wont.

1st half 14-3 Saints

2nd half - Our offense picks up a bit in the second half, and we rely on runs, slants, and screens to move the chains. Jarvis will have a big day. our d is doing its best against a high power defense, but eventually they will tire from a lot of 3 and outs on O, and Brees and company will go in for the kill.

38-17 Saints ... To put another way ... I think that we will need to score 39 points for the win.

I wouldn't count on six TOs' this week from our defense.

I just don't think that our offense is in a position to keep pace with Brees an company just yet ... They have yet to be weaned from the milk ... I shall gladly hope to be wrong here.

Go Browns!

It's hard to image the Saints (or any team) scoring a lot of points against the Browns.

I'd say definitely to be decided by turnovers.

13-13 tie. (no decisive turnovers).

21-21 tie. (if they replay last week's tape and image in different uniforms)

50 is a very difficult # to end on for a football team. 5 TDs and 5 FGs?

the scary thing about playing NO is that they are very rarely shut down offensively. When they lose badly, they still can put up 34 points easily

It will be an interesting game.

They gave up something like 2.5 million yards and a couple thousand points last week (500+ and 48 pts, IIRC). While maybe TB turned in to a juggernaut, I think it is more that the Saints D is terrible. I think our offense will be much better - we're not playing Pitt's D in crappy weather, we're playing New Orleans D in a controlled environment.

On our D, Kamara concerns me. If we can't control him, we can't win. Brees will be Brees. If we can keep Brees under 300 yards and Kamara under 100 rushing, I think we win. This being said, I think Kamara has a 200 yard day (rushing/receiving).

A few things going against us:

- They have a HOF QB
- They have urgency to win this week
- They are at home
- They have the hardest matchup for us in Kamara
- They have a better coach

I can't really think of a reason to pick us

67-2 Browns.

(we take a safety to end the game, running out the final 6 seconds, on 4th down, from our own 1, instead of having to punt)

Browns #Saints this week. Since 1999, Cleveland is 4-1 (best record v any opponent w/ minimum of 4 games) against them including their 1st W in expansion era on Hail Mary + wins in 2010 & 2014

Interesting stats to take some of the gloom out of this thread...

Browns are 13-4 all time vs the Saints

Browns are 4-1 since the return, including 3-0 in New Orleans

Drew Brees is 1-2... 5TD / 6INT

Last meeting ~ Hoyer out-dueled Brees to send the Saints to 0-2

Previous meeting ~ Brees 356yds... McCoy 74yds... Browns win 30-17

New Orleans has never scored more than 28pts vs Cleveland

Prediction: Two games in a row with no field goals!

Browns 28
Saints 24

That fake punt by Hodges was a thing of beauty. I don't remember the Browns player running with him, but had he peeled off to block the smaller faster guy, he would have scored.

Colt McCoy beat Brees and the Saints. Tyrod Taylor is better than Colt McCoy. Therefore, the Browns win, 32-18.
