The media may or may not, and I do not care if they do or don't, but if we do you can bet the other teams in the NFL will take notice.
Actually, I'd bet that they already have.

I think we all see improvement in a lot of areas .... but I'm thinking this NYJ game is as "must win" as you get for this team.
We can't go on a long break winless, with all of the losses being heartbrekers
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think everyone is coming back to Earth regarding the Darnold love-fest. As much was said after they lost to the Dolphins.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I hope we win this one especially. The media man crush on Darnold, strutting around like a bad little bully boy made me ill. We need to cut the pins out from under that Thursday, because they will probably make that the game. A kicker would be nice, and hey, why not get a receiver what plays while we are at. I mean, all in, y'know?

We gotta win this game, for our sanity, for keeping playoff hopes alive (yeah, I know what you're thinking but don't bother haha) and for quieting those who laugh at us.... or feel sorry for us.
national respect will come when the wins do.

Playoffs?? Haha, but really ... our best shot at playoffs is to win the division
We'd need to beat BAL/CIN 3 of 4 .. and try to steal one in PITT

CLEVELAND -- It's been 632 days and counting since the Cleveland Browns have won a game. The odds are that will change Thursday -- literally. As the Browns head toward their primetime matchup with the New York Jets, they do so as a favorite for the first time this season. After a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 and a heartbreaking loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Cleveland opened as -- and is currently listed as -- a 3-point favorite vs. the Jets. Laying claim to a 1-32-1 record dating back to the start of the 2016 season, being favored is a position the Browns have hardly been familiar with. Coincidentally, the last time Cleveland was a favorite entering a game came in Week 3 of last season when the Browns were a 1-point favorite on the road vs. the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts would go on to win the game 31-28. That the Browns are favored in this spot, however, isn't necessarily a surprise. Following an impressive win over the Detroit Lions in Week 1, the Jets fell to 1-1 on the year with a 20-12 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. In his most recent outing, rookie quarterback Sam Darnold completed 25 of his 41 attempts for 334 passing yards, 1 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Browns defense, which has forced a league-high 8 takeaways through two weeks, will look to take advantage of Darnold's propensity for giving the ball away as Cleveland searches for its first victory in nearly two calendar years. https://www.wkyc.com/article/sports/nfl/...-jets/595369851

Yes, it will be Browns first win in almost two years. However, it will take more than one win to get respect and end the sarcasm and jokes from the national media.

If this is going to be the "greatest turnaround in sports history", you might want to start winning games.

Browns played 2 good teams and did ok. If we beat down the jets.. will the national media take notice? The national media, at least the part that knows football, has already taken notice. They know that the preseason hype that this team is better is for real. Now, it's just a matter of getting the monkey off their back.. I'm sure they want to stop talking about it, stop hearing about it.. I know as a fan, I'm tired of seeing the stats about it, especially near the end of a winnable game.. I'm really hoping they put their foot on the throat of the Jets and don't let up... leave no doubt. No last second long drive, no last second FG, no chance to Darnold to start his "legacy".. just a good old fashioned beat down of nearly 2 years of frustration being poured out them all at one time.

This is a HUGE game for Tyrod (he played the Jets well last year IIRC)
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

At this point, I think the only way the Browns are going to win a game
is if they get 10 turnovers in their favor, Score a hundred points,
And they are going to win 100 to 96.
All kidding aside,
One positive is the Browns have held the steelers scoreless for the first quarter, >>( a characteristic of all Steeler losses seen by me)
The Browns held the Saints to 3, I think going into halftime, 6-3 lead.
One continuing trouble is the Browns don't score 24+ points, but seem to hit the wall around 20.000 points per game.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I think the D, especially the DL, is for real. In Sunday's game I listened to the announcers talk about the Saints giving the ball up twice in the first 1/2. My thought was, after 8 turnovers in 6 quarters, maybe they should be talking about the Browns taking the ball away.

We have some corners that need turning. This is one of them. Sacking BR was one. PUNK Darnold! It is a start, steps in the right direction.
Win! The Elf is hungry.

Respect is earned, not given. So far we haven't earned it. Once we do they'll flock to the Browns. I mean, everybody loves a good come back story.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I remember one time we got "national respect" by winning a game on Thursday Night Football. It was on November 6th, 2014. The win made us 6-3. We then won one game the rest of the season and finished 7-9.
National respect is not earned because you win one game when more people are watching. It is earned by being good over a long period of time.

I don't care about "national respect", at all. I don't care if the media like us. I don't care if the masses ('m' is silent) like us. I don't care if we are popular. I don't care if people make jokes about us.
I care about whether or not we play solid football and win. The rest is junk and noise.

We haven't done anything to deserve respect yet. Even if we would be 2 and 0 with an actual kicker.

We could score 24+ points if we got behind early and had some sense of urgency... that hasn't happened yet. Our offense (and Tyrod in particular) have proven they can make plays down the field when they feel forced to... but as long as it's close and they don't feel they have to, they won't.. it's hard to build a big lead 4 yards at a time.
