I don't know, it could be speculation on their part or they could have a "Browns source" that isn't official.

Mary Kay, for all of the abuse she takes, is as connected to the Browns as anyone in the business.

ICYMI: Baker Mayfield will be announced as the #Browns starter on Monday after Hue Jackson has his first chance to talk to him and Tyrod Taylor, coming off their weekend off

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I'm fairly certain we'll hear from Hue this morning to make it official

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Same. But I think it is more of a "he will be announced as the starter on Monday." A little different. Sounds like info from some source. Maybe CoachB.

Pretty sure Aikman said that it was announced in his broadcast yesterday.

Then they did joke about him saying he will have to watch the tape.

Anyways:

When Jackson went back and studied the game further, he saw a performance that matched his memory from the night before.

“It was as good as I thought live. He made some tremendous throws. Obviously, he was able to move the team. Played with some rhythm. Got the ball into the playmakers hands and gave them chances to make plays,” he said.

“There are some things that he has to clean up obviously. We can’t have the ball out on the ground. There are some progression things that we will work through. Overall for his first game out under the lights in that environment in that situation, he handled all of that extremely well and played well.”

I don't think it was stated officially but journalists making the ASSumption that by Hue saying that he will see the tape to make his decision sort of means 100% Hue is stating Baker is the starter.

Not the plan - this soon but actually we heard all along how fast Baker has been progressing and lets face it. TT has the worst completion pct. of ALL QBs that have more than like 5 throws...the worst and this is with him throwing almost all his passes in the dink and dunk variety. Just ahead of TT was Gabbert and Josh Allen. So I think TT unfortunately has played his way to Wally Pipp territory.

Hue is no fool and actually has no choice in this he and all of us were hoping some better than average play from TT instead we got - The worst in the NFL variety.

The Era has begun. He did a great job with Kizer I thought, the progress was amazing in my eyes last year. Now with Haley running the O and him, Campezee and Staton, they will continue the process but this time with him on the field of play.

jmho
