It looks like Christian Kirksey is going to be back:

https://247sports.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/Article/Christian-Kirksey-return-from-injury-122441096/

Hopefully this means less of Jamie Collins.

I'd hope we're full strength

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

We'll see:

Quote:
#Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) not practicing today. FS Damarious Randall and LB James Burgess (knee) sidelined, too. DE Myles Garrett, DE Emmanuel Ogbah (ankle) and TE Seth DeValve (hamstring) on bikes. LB Christian Kirksey (ankle) returned to practice. He's missed 2 games

Matthew McCrane - K - Raiders

Raiders signed K Matthew McCrane.

Mike Nugent is dealing with a hip injury sustained during the Raiders game against Miami on Sunday. McCrane will fill in for as long as Nugent is out, and there is a chance the Raiders send Nugent to IR. In college, McCrane made 86.6 percent of his field goals and just missed one of 134 extra points. McCrane went undrafted but spent time with the Cardinals in camp.

Ogbah's injuries are becoming longer every season, don't get me wrong I like Ogbah but I would like him a lot more on the field ...

We haven't seemed to have had much of a drop-off, but I'd still like him to get healthy.

Who the hell's been replacing him?

You'd think I'd know that, eh? I've watched all the games.... smile

I believe Chris Smith has taken most of his snaps.

Don't forget Genard Avery...he's handling a lot of the obvious passing situations as the LDE (which he was also doing while Ogbah slid inside)

Avery is also very good in coverage.

I suspect that he'll be a starter by next year, as long as he stays healthy.

Keep in mind this was one, if not THEE, biggest question marks about him. That one play, he was about a blanket coverage as you could. Close enough to put his hand on the guy's hips running a route (but not impede him/cause a PI flag) and run step by step with him. I was so impressed with this very play.

Again, Avery is obviously my sleeper pick. He's going to be a seemingly lethal all down backer and sooner rather than later by the looks.

I think he may be a starter before the end of the year. IMO he's one of our best defenders .. very versatile, tough, and athletic

Tyrod Taylor - QB - Browns

Tyrod Taylor (concussion) didn't practice Wedneday.

He remains in the concussion protocol. Drew Stanton will back up Baker Mayfield if Taylor doesn't get cleared for Week 4.

I love when players compete against each other for stuff like this (sacks, offensive rebounds, assists, etc)

The Browns plan on getting back a pair of starting defenders this weekend in Oakland.

Coach Hue Jackson said linebacker Christian Kirksey (shoulder/ankle) and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (ankle) are on track to play against the Raiders on Sunday after missing the past two weeks with injuries.

“They practiced today so that’s encouraging,” Jackson said Wednesday. “We’ll see how it goes after practicing today, but they were definitely practicing so that’s a good thing.”

Ogbah, who told reporters he plans to play this weekend, suffered an ankle sprain in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers while Kirksey missed the first and second games of his five-year career with the Browns.

Without them, Cleveland’s defense has still managed to emerge as one of the league’s top units. It forced three turnovers in Thursday night’s win over the Jets and held New York to 268 total yards.

Before that, the Browns held the high-powered Saints to 275 yards and forced another two takeaways. They lead the NFL with 11 turnovers forced.

Kirksey and Ogbah should only add to what’s been an impressive start for the unit.

“It was definitely tough, but I believe in those guys,” Ogbah said of his absence. “Next man up philosophy, that’s what this defense is about.

“They stepped up and made big plays when they needed to.”

Yeah... it really is time to stay on the field and perform like I've seen him before. I know he can cause havoc out there both in the run and rush game.

Great. Do it, don't talk about it.

I am not down on Ogbah, but I think he is over rated a bit.

Tyrod Taylor - QB - Browns

Tyrod Taylor (concussion) returned to practice Thursday.

Baker Mayfield will start at quarterback for the Browns this week, but Taylor appears on track to dress and back up the rookie after suffering a concussion in last Thursday's game against the Jets.
