Need Kluber to come out strong from the 1st inning tonight.

Let's see Donaldson and Encarnacion do some damage in the middle of the lineup this series ~ just like the good 'ole days.

Tough task ahead boys... Let's do this!

Gotta find a way to watch this at work.

big one today ... Verlander is tough. Gotta grind it

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

The Indians’ unusual dominance over Justin Verlander
https://www.letsgotribe.com/2018/10/4/17929938/the-indians-unlikely-dominance-over-justin-verlander

Justin Verlander vs. Cleveland in 2017:
1-3, 8.14 ERA in 4 starts.
21ip, 30h, 12 BB (2.0 WHIP)
.323 BAA (.981 OPS)

Yet to face him as an Astro...

And there's Justin's strange penchant for thinking the Tribe is always stealing signs:

Yep. The Indians have always hit him well. It seems like they hit Chris Sale well as well.

Need Lindor and Ramirez to have their bats going this series. They both hit .111 and .100 respectively last year against the Yankees. Can't win like that.

sometimes that happens to young players. I expect them to play better this year

Klubber looking a little unsettled today. 2 HBP in one inning, when he's had 3 all year.

The facts are what they are, and they’re not pretty:

Coming into today, the last 3 postseason GS for Kluber:

10.1 IP, 6 HR allowed .. 13 ER allowed on 16 hits

Today: 3 HR allowed in 4+ IP

Would've been huge for EE to have driven in Brantley. I'll take the two runs though.

Verlander pitches 5 innings of no-hit baseball.. gives up 2 hits and 2 runs in the 6th and gets yanked immediately... boy baseball has changed.

As good as kluber is during the season, he chokes when they count. Houston prob the worst matchup for us. How bad was yonder ... dang

7-2 loss ... they're tough to beat at home with that pitching

It's game 1.

Let's get 'em tomorrow.

If Carrasco pitches like he can tomorrow, and we put a couple crooked numbers on the board offensively, today's game will be forgotten and we will come home with home field advantage for the rest of the series. Have a little faith, Tribe fans, its a 5 game series.

Too bad Oakland got eliminated. You know the sports world wants another Cleveland/Oakland postseason matchup. tongue

Kluber is a choke artist. Wouldn't start him again. I'm done with this crap. Send someone out there who can actually pitch in a big game (since they are ALL big). SMH

After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

Kluber is NOT a choke artist. He faced the world champions today, and they beat him. They have a relentless lineup. The "choke" label gets used way too much in sports today, IMO.

I started watching baseball again today. I'll watch as long as the Tribe is playing in the post-season.

But man, it galls me just how bad the game has become. They don't bunt. They don't play small ball. They try and hit home runs and strike out a lot.

Boring as can be for someone who always liked the strategical part of the game.

I was at work listening to the radio broadcast, but when they put an infield shift up against Alonso and Kipnis, with the 3rd baseman playing around 2B, I thought "Come on man, lay a bunt down the 3rd base line!", but they never even tried. Annoying.

At one point when I was thinking "bunt!", Verlander had a no-hitter going, and I was thinking about that stupid unwritten rule about not bunting to break up a no-no. Screw that! We needed baserunners. I don't care about Verlander's no-hit aspirations. Lay one down, dammit!
