I think they deserve a ton of credit and are not getting enough. Agreed. I believe we have one of the best D's in the game right now and are not getting enough credit.

Great win.
Things are moving in the right direction and Dorsey and the FO are the reason for it. Hue is looking like the coach many of us anticipated when he was hired. Kudos to him for agreeing to bring in an OC so he could concentrate on many other aspects of the game.
Things that I have seen throughout the first 6 games.
I would love to see more plat action. We are running the ball often, I think a few more PA plays and less reverses might create more production.
As has been stated by many on other threads. GW needs to ease up on the blitzes on 3rd and long. 3-4 times a game in key situations everybody knows who is coming. Opposite QB's, O-Linemen, - OC's and my own mother knows the blitz is coming and where it is coming from. The D gives up a big gain on a screen pass and the chains move for another set of downs. It gets old. Other than that I love the energy that GW brings to the game.
As for special teams.... Colquitt was outstanding. He was what we needed to get that win.
The referees... They have screwed the Browns for years. However, with the Browns being better, these horrible calls hurt a lot more. The last 2 weeks are two of the worse called games I have ever seen. I have seen better officiating at the high school level.
Bottom line, is we are a good team that is getting better every week. We need to continue to improve and grind. I have been optimistic in the past that we might be better, but right now I am excited to be a Browns fan.
BARK IT UP!!!!!
GO BROWNS!!!!!

- The NFL refs are absolutely no doubt in my mind in Vegas' pocketbook.
- I never seen more Ref huddles in a single game, then when I watch a Browns Game. Its almost like they huddle up and say "ok guys, who has a call they use against Cle? WE cant let the misfits win"
- We have the Def rookie of the year (Ward), offensive rookie of the year (Baker), and the Defensive player of the year on this team(Ward/Myles).
- We have absolutely the worst ST in football. I don't know how Amos can look in the mirror and collect a paycheck. Every aspect of this team is better significantly, except his unit. That's coaching. There is no excuse.
- We need a K. Joseph looks like Tim Wakefield out there. That ball was partially blocked.

We held Baltimore to 3 FGs despite our offense continually giving them excellent field position. I'm going to disagree with this a little Vers, our defense didn't help us win the field position battle at all. Even when they did force a punt or a turnover, it was almost always after allowing them to gain 30 yards.. our drives in the first half started inside the 25.. all of them. Even when we would get out of the shadow of our endzone and have to punt, which we did multiple times, pinning THEM deep.. our defense would give up 20-30 yards so they were still punting from mid-field.. a couple more 3 and outs by our defense would have gone a long way in helping to flip field position. Our average starting field position, for the entire game, was on our own 19 yard line.... you are asking A LOT of a rookie QB to keep flipping the field position...

When Landry didn’t go out of bounds we should have called a timeout. We could have had a couple more passes to the sidelines or one more pass down the middle. Bad game management. Luckily it didn’t come back to bite us (this time). I thought we only had 1 left. . . . . If we only had 1, not calling the timeout is smart, IMO. Just imagine what we would be saying if time ran out on us in FG range.... I don’t know about you, but I’d be saying the same thing. Process > results. We would have had 30 seconds left that is plenty of time to make a play downfield and spike the ball. Instead we had to settle for a 55 yard field goal with a iffy kicker.

Not if you have to leave enough time on the clock to run up and spike it successfully. You're arguing that running a play then spiking it, then running a play and calling a timeout, somehow takes longer than play/timeout/play/spike. It's the same thing.

No. I said we should have called a timeout as soon as Landry was down.

and? Landry stays in bounds with 38 seconds left. We have one timeout. I would have liked us to call a timeout with 38 seconds left instead of spiking the ball. We did spike the ball, it took 20 seconds off the clock to run the play. I would rather have 38 and no timeouts than 18 seconds and one timeout because I believe it would give the team a better chance at gaining more yards. It would open up the middle of the field for a big play and then a spike. Hopefully this clears things up. Luckily things worked out in the end.

Yeah, how would that have gone if you run up with 0 timeouts and took a sack? We have a rookie qb, two rookie wr at this point playing as well. Confusion is easily to come, against one of the best def in the NFL. Getting sacked or forced into throwing a INT is not unheard of. I was completely fine with not taking the TO. I am not a hue guy, but he did what was right here.

(Unless you are arguing that the offense would magically execute a spike play faster if they don't have any time outs??) And if the Defense is laying on the receiver or do any other stall tactics like they did in that Detroit game a year ago, you have no means of calling a time-out and stopping them. Of all the things to nit-pick Hue about, this is really, really reaching.

But in an end of game situation, on that final play, I would MUCH rather be able to call timeout as soon as the final play is over rather than HOPE we could get lined up and execute the spike.. too many variables, too many chances of things going wrong on that spike if you are trying to execute it in the final seconds so you can the kicking team on.. Play/spike/play/timeout is much better than play/timeout/play/spike.. all other things being equal... IMHO

Play/spike/play/timeout is much better than play/timeout/play/spike.. all other things being equal... IMHO Yeah, I agree DC. If anything, I feel like Hue learned his lesson from that Detroit game last year, where he did use up all his timeouts, and then tried going for the quick play/spike. It wound up with us trying to get out from under D-lineman bodies and running out of time.

More time = more options in the playbook Not if you take a sack with 0 timeouts left. You then have 0 plays.

Cfr is to HUE what Rasta is to Bake ... Its the only reason this is even being questioned ... Keeping that TO in our back pockets was CLEARLY the right thing to do ... it wasn’t even close ... CFRFYI ... it didnt take 20 seconds to spike the ball ... thats BS ... we snapped the ball at 38 seconds .. when i re-watched this morning i wanted to see how much time Jarvis cost us ... if he ran out there would have been about 31 seconds left ... by the time he was tackled there would have been 29 seconds left .... we ran the next play at 17 seconds ... IT TOOK 11 OR 12 SECONDS TO SPIKE THE BALL ... not 20 ... Landry’s butt got saved by the OT W not Hue’s ... Hue did 100% the right thing AGAIN ...

You also run the risk, if not everybody is set and you snap the spike, to get called for motion.. which is a 10 second run-off. That's game over if you wait until the last play before the FG to use it.

I get what you are saying and am not really arguing, but the D did hold them to a FG rather than giving up a late TD, as our D's of the past have.
I think they deserve a ton of credit and are not getting enough. They played out of their minds. Like a top tier, top five D. Fantastic performance. That INT at the goal line was clutch.

BTW...Tony Jefferson of the Rats told reporters he got a hand on the GW field goal. I sure didn't see it...but he said he did. Also, our own kicker said he heard a thump of the ball right after he hit it. Doesn't change your point...just adding what I heard on the radio in Cleveland.

I would have just preferred Landry to have run out of bounds, instead of cutting back inside and gaining 1/2 yard. It was a case of attitude over situational awareness. He wanted to deliver the blow, but should have run OOB. I'll take that attitude any time, except when the situation calls for prudence. Having said that, I'm sure it was a conversation they've already had, and now they're moving on. It didn't cost us the game, it likely won't happen again, and I'm sure the coaches will do nothing to temper his passion. Much rather have it happen now than in the playoffs. These are the little things they need to overcome on the way to greatness.

My bad, the NFL.com play-by-play was unclear: http://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=401030770The ESPN.com one was more accurate you were right. (It was not to throw off anyone's scent, I would never do that. Go look at the Harrison thread too, I defended Hue Jackson there also.)

I am hoping that those who did not like Hue or Baker in the past, can simply let it go.
I didn't like Baker, but the draft is over. Time to move on. The guy is playing well and I like what I see in many areas. He ain't perfect, but he has a ton of strengths. This isn't about being "right." It's about being honest.
I am hoping that those who don't like Hue can see how good of a job he is doing. The guys love him. They are playing hard. He is managing the games well. He's proving that talent does matter.
The nitpicking and false claims against both Baker and Hue are unfair. Both will make mistakes at times. They are human, but the good is outweighing the bad.
Let it go, y'all. Let it go.
It's time to get behind the "team." And both Baker and Hue are part of the "team."

LOL I loved it when Charles, I think it was, went to chest bump Hue in the locker room, and knocked him sideways ....
I also loved when the team was chanting "buddy boy" for Dorsey when Hue gave him a game ball.
This team plays hard all the time. They sometimes have major screw-ups. but they play hard from start to finish, including 3 OTs this year. Hue has this team competing, and believing they can win, every game.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

Yeah, it's freaking awesome! This is a real "team." We have a lot of improving to do, but we are on our way. I really pray people stop trying to blow things up.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...hree-eagles-dipDidn't want to start a thread because power rankings are worthless, but when was the last time we were ranked 16th?! Again, rankings are worthless but perhaps not completely meaningless. Shows that we are starting to get a little bit of respect. Of course the Bengals were #7, Ravens who we beat #11 and Stealers who we tied and have the same record as is #12. So maybe we aren't getting that much respect.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

It's a process. A lot of media members are giving the Browns love. I really believe America wants to love the Browns.
