It's amazing at how much this team has improved in one year under Dorsey. The guy uses so many avenues to acquire players. Like you said, he made two excellent picks at 1 and 4. He takes flyers on guys w/past character issues, such as Callaway and Harrison. He made a few trades that really helped.
I also think he and Hue work well together. That's huge for us! We also have two excellent coordinators.
This is the first time since our rebirth that I really believe that the future is bright for this franchise.
We are quite there yet, but we're so much better than we were. This year is about learning how to win and getting the younger guys some much needed experience. Watch out for this team next year.
And think about this. We really might have franchise guys at QB, Edge rusher, CB, and LT. Those are the 4 most important spots on the team. And they are all freaking young. That is amazing!!!
Although I tend to agree with this view, my issue here is that are/were clearly players who shouldn't be playing.
Randall is a good FS, but the most amazing thing is how bad our FS were... Same with pass rush, and Ward at CB
I believe the same thing is going to happen once we get good LB's, and people just get a glimpse on how bad we were at the position.
Yes GM's are responsible for getting the players (curiously the previous GM does not get the credit for the Oline...) but coaches are the ones who chose who plays.
The only excuse I can see is if we were tanking on purpose, but I have to give it to Dorsey, he's been doing a good job.
Randall, Hyde and Landry have been really good choices. Ward, I have to give Dorsey credit.
Won't comment on Baker nor Chubb...
