Yep....millions of young 18-35 women voters she’ll be bringing with her.
There's the problem. Voter ignorance.
How deplorable. Calling young women ignorant voters. As if you’re entitled to make your ignorant choice but with women it’s a problem. Not totally unexpected though.

Who cares what entertainers and athletes endorse politically. seriously.
a lot of people. especially since they're more likely to put their money where their mouths are than the actual elected officials.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

“We are up to 65,000 registrations in a single 24-hour period since T. Swift’s post,” Kamari Guthrie, director of communications for Vote.org, told BuzzFeed News. That’s more than the amount of registrations from the entire month of August, which was 56,669, and more than a third of the 190,178 that registered throughout September.

I understand there are simpletons out there who don't really think for themselves, and need to be told how to vote by singers and other famous entertainers. It is what it is.
It's a small uptick in voter registration in one state. Hey, that's great. I don't think it is this groundbreaking movement that you think it is. You know this though.. you just like to argue. "lolololol."
when people make claims that others don't really think for themselves, i often wonder what makes them think that they are actually thinking for themselves?
like you, for example. what makes you believe you think for yourself? because you say so?
nothing you've ever said isn't anything i haven't heard from fox news or brietbart. thats the truth. so is it that you just so happen to say the same things as those two, or is it possible you got your beliefs from those two networks?
honestly, there's no way to prove it.
so now we have an issue that should be discussed. are people suppose to be told how to vote by....politicians? their parents?
everybody is told by SOMEBODY how to vote, whether they actually listen or not is a different discussion. but we have to look at credibility.
why would i, for example, listen to sean hannity over Lebron James? or why would i listen to most politicians over lebron james?
who do you think i relate to the most, as far a socially and the way we were raised and experienced life? lebron, or sean hannity? lebron, or laura ingraham? lebron, or nancy pelosi?
lebron, who came up the same way i did, has put millions of dollars funding kids education, both through college and now in grade school. last time i checked, thats more impactful than anybody you've ever posted.
i also find it very illogical of you to claim people can't think for themselves because they listen to entertainers...but you was the one posting non stop articles from a comic strip artist you agreed with, who is an entertainer.
pretty hypocritical, but expected nonetheless.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
The only caveat I would make, is that LeBron although not formally educated, is a highly itellectual man, and has tremendous business acumen. The things he has done in his life and for others - gives him clout when he speaks - IMO.
I don't know much about Swift, her background, or her ideology to be honest - so I cant say whether I agree or disagree with anything she says.
For me, I try to understand who the person is, where they came from, and what they stand for. For instance, I would certainly give LeBron more credence to what he says than say, Joy Bahar. Same side, but completely different educational and insight levels. I guess it just depends on the person you are listening too and their qualifications to offer advice.
If I am not mistaken, Drew Carey and Alice Cooper are republicans, im not going to vote for someone because they are or they endorse them. I think that's the point Haus was trying to make against Swift.
i agree with that. but it does comes down to the level of influence. would drew carey have more of an influence on politics in the city of cleveland over lebron?
no.
but i get it. i like TI and young jeezy, but im not gonna listen to anything they have to say when it comes to who to vote for. when it comes to taylor swift....i mean she's truly a global superstar. there's so many people, especially girls/women, who listen to all her music, follow her on IG and other platforms, and really take their music to heart.
and for musicians, thats the thing i think some people are forgetting. there's that one artist that we all listen to that just speaks to us internally.
for example, i told you i wouldn't listen to a word TI or jeezy says politically even though i love their music. but Kid Cudi? dude's music and interviews just speaks to me. his stories, his style of rap, his one crazy rock album he had, his life experiences. i just pay attention to all of it. and when he speaks, i feel like i can relate, and i understand his position.
thats how people feel about garth brooks, or darius rucker, or Adele, etc. for me, i don't really like taylor swift, because i'm team katy perry. but people are always gonna at least consider what their favorite artist have to say on real life issues.
and think about it. she didn't even blast the opposition. she just said go out there and vote for what you believe, and stated that she was gonna vote for the dem candidate.
she wasn't disrespectful, she didn't trash anybody, she didn't tell anybody to do this or else.
she was very civil in her statement. we need a lot more of that from everybody. if Haus doesn't think a civil statement is worth listening to, well, thats his problem.

Glad to see people registering, if one wants to complain about how things are being run, one must first register and then vote for their opinion to hold any true weight.
What this article doesn't tell us is what was the party affiliation of these 65,000 registrations. And even more so, registering is only 1 small part. Going to the polls to have your voice heard is the true measure.
Not to dismiss Taylor Swifts initiative, but if she would have posted that you could get a free coupon for Burger Kings Chicken Fries and posted a link, I bet burgerking.com would have seen a massive influx of visitors, even if they never redeemed the coupon.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
even if its conservatives registering to vote for the GOP, its still a good thing.
the more people coming out to vote, the better.

about the small uptick, the girl has 112 MILLION instagram followers and about 1.9 million likes on her Instagram post about Tennessee politics.
The number from around the country who registered on the website shot up by 105,003 in the 36 hours following Taylor Swift's call to action beamed to her 112 million Instagram followers on Sunday night, said Vote.org's communications director, Kamarie Guthrie.
More than 40 percent -- 44,801 -- of the new registrations were of people ages 18 to 24, Guthrie said.

You elected and support an entertainer as president.. so I guess you care

Interesting numbers.
I wonder how many of them would have registered anyway. How many were actually conservatives who registered after seeing the story (which quickly went national), and finally, how many of them will actually show up to vote.
I'm sure it will be a little boost for the Democrats.. but not a 105,003 vote boost.
Estimated 63% of women voters registered in last 48 hours plan to vote democrat.
There's still a lot of info missing there. What percent plan to vote Republican (37%, or less due to a third party?), how many women registered and how many men (and how will they vote), how many will actually show up to vote, etc.
How about this: If Phil Bredesen narrowly defeats Marsha Blackburn for the TN Senate seat, I'll concede that Taylor Swift may have swung things in a meaningful direction.
Otherwise, you can pat yourself on the back for having the support of many celebrities, getting more people registered, or whatever you have to tell yourselves to get through at least two more years of Trump in office backed by a Republican Senate.

Agree. But lets be honest, look at how you just explained that. Now go ask a 18 year girl why she likes Swift. "ummm because shes totally awesome....."

Ughhhh I couldn't even imagine hearing my daughter say that....
glad I only have a son.
although the wife has been hinting lately about another one. Year and half until daycare is over and shes already planning on another 5 years of daycare lol.
god speed sir. i told my wife if we have a 3rd kid, its gonna be by accident.

I was actually the one that wanted 2 kids originally. She barely wanted one ( I come from a big family, she was an only child). Now after paying 10K+ a year in daycare, I am ready for a break of that. At least for a few months, but we aint getting any younger (im 33 and shes 30 going on 31).
Someday, you two will have to pass on your login info to your kids and let them bicker back and forth (while the rest of us wonder what the hell is going on.)
It is not the Republicans or Conservatives who destroy your career and hound you in the streets when an artist steps out of the box.
Remember when you all peed your pants because Colin Kaepernick wasn't being politically correct?
No provide the links please.
I have a hard time believing that the Breitbart link guy isn’t aware that a vocal contingent of hooting crybabies (amplified by the current president) lost their minds when they felt Colin Kaepernick wasn’t being P.C.
That was old racist crank red meat on Breitbart for months.

Actually we are having a constructive conversation. Swish and I don't always do that or get the chance to, and we go at each other frequently. Even though I don't agree with most of his political leanings, and he doesn't to mine, sometimes - rarely, but sometimes...we will agree on a topic. like this one.
You have no issue with Kid Rock telling people to vote R, but care that Swift does - don't be a #snowflake
Get out to vote, the best candidate will win. Don't like her having a voice, find someway to reach to voters that you agree with too.
