linkFormer left tackle Joe Thomas will be honored during Sunday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers at FirstEnergy Stadium. Author: Matthew Florjancic Published: 3:36 PM EDT October 11, 2018 Updated: 3:36 PM EDT October 11, 2018 CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns are set to honor former left tackle Joe Thomas, one of their most beloved players of the expansion era, during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers at FirstEnergy Stadium. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft out of the University of Wisconsin, Thomas will be honored when “10,363” is enshrined in the Browns’ Ring of Honor to recognize his consecutive snaps streak over 11 years with the franchise. Thomas will join the Browns’ 16 Hall of Fame players in the Ring of Honor. “I am extremely humbled by this honor,” Thomas said in a release from the team. “The snap streak was not something I set out to accomplish. All I ever wanted to do was to be there for my teammates and always do everything I possibly could to help this team win. “It was important to always get back up and get in the huddle, even when it wasn’t easy. For that number -- 10,363 -- to be forever on display in FirstEnergy Stadium among the likes of all-time greats like Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Lou Groza is something I take great pride in.”
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

How long you guys think before they retire 73? The Home Opener after his induction to the HoF. edit to add: I would not be surprised if it isn't already retired, unofficially, internally... like, I think guys in that locker room would all say "no, that's Joe's number... pick something else." To that extent, I noted that there is no #73 on the roster today.

well deserved ... 4 years until he's in canton and we're in the HOF Game
It'll be Browns vs Cowboys, book it
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

They should honor him every week, even if he's not there. Right before the national anthem every week there should be a 1 minute standing ovation for Joe Thomas... every week... forever.

I think it's a slam dunk which jersey I wear to the game Sunday.

If we lose this game now, it just proves that Joe Thomas is the reason we have sucked

For obvious reasons, I want the Browns to win, but this particular day is kinda special... I really want them to win it for Joe.

A shame this incredible recognition won't be televised more. We are blacked out. Hope some media folks "special this up" for fans and Football in general.

Who knows the thoughts of another. What I do know is his character. I don't think he has any regrets. I think he is so so Happy for the Browns and he will bleed Brown and Orange FOREVER. Hope we keep up the OL connection with Wisconsin not a bad place...that and Ohio State if we can build our OL from those two schools...fantastic and JT continues to advise our OL would be great.
Hopefully he will officially have some capacity in teaching our OL in the future! I can see him growing into a future HC down the road!

well said EO ... I do agree that he has no regrets and is genuinely our team's biggest fan now. Can't ask for more than that.
