I try not to go there but DawgDuty has repeatedly called me out, by name, as some sort of jobless ‘liberal’ (which that part I take as a badge of honor). So I remind him I’m educated and gainfully employed. If he’d zip his pie hole about me I’d not feel the need to verbally abuse him.

Being dead serious here, the dumbest guy on this board still deserves to be heard without being mocked, his/her opinions might not be informed but they still deserve basic respect for voicing them.
The problem is not intelligence or political views, it's the tribalism and constant attacks. We are all guilty of it and it has trashed the board.
I despise the Trump Presidency, but I don't hate 40 or Vambo for supporting him. I hate the tribalism and insults. Then I feel the need to return the favor. half the time I take the first shot because of a perceived win for my tribe. We are all equally guilty. Even you Vers. You get aggravated and lash out because you hate the hate... then pile on. You are part of the small vocal get along tribe. Others are part of the don't want none tribe. The people hitting each other in here are right/left hardcore.
I honestly don't think there is one guy in here with the exception of two creepy posters that I would not hang with and chill. I enjoy giving people crap and going back and forth in a cutting up manner, which is how this all started out. but now it's just hammertime all day long with nothing being accomplished or said that means a damn thing.
It was fun for a while but now, meh... it's just a life draining exercise in futility. Nothing gained or accomplished, no meaningful exchange, just putrid dialogue in the most hateful manner that you can get away with and not be banned. 100% tribal.
I just have better ways to spend my time. There are a ton of things happening everyday in the political realm that deserve being discussed. from bizarre and scandalous to minor but important. We miss 70%-80% of these topics because we immediately judge stuff from our tribal views and start the bashing. Then spend time counting coup with trash talk instead of actually discussing anything.

A serious thought from a nurse (me) for those that maybe aren’t knowledgeable about bipolar.
One trait with those that have been diagnosed with bipolar, formally called manic depression, is denial of their disease or denial of the seriousness of their disease. They often stop taking their medications when the medications are doing a good job of stabilizing their mood. In these states they see themselves as ‘doing well enough to not need them’. In doing so they end up cycling back to their state of becoming irrational and easily agitated or depressed and self isolating. Or cycling between the two states until typically those in their lives convince them to restart their medications. Many bipolar people and their families go through this through their lives. Sometimes families just can’t do it anymore or the person with bipolar ends up on the streets. It’s sad to watch.
Now if a doctor has truly diagnosed Kanye with bipolar, because of what I know about the disease, I trust that diagnosis over Kanye stating otherwise.

Pretty much sums up 40 suddenly digging and defending Kanye.

Another classic 40 moment is when a bunch of posters were mocking Diamond & Silk for contributing the maximum allowable $7.5K donation to the neo-Nazi challenging Paul Ryan in the Wisconsin primary, and 40 chimed in with “oh, maybe you don’t like them because they’re articulate black women. Maybe you all are racist?”
Pretty much everyone responded with “No, as we all stated, we don’t like them because they donated $7 grand to the guy who got banned from Twitter for his tirade about how much he hated Jews”.
